While doing the blanket border I was having a think about my next project. I`ve always fancied having a wee footstool with a crocheted cover so I might get DS to knock up something for me, lots of bits of wood lying about in the shed/greenhouse --oh you thought greenhouses were for plants ? not mine, you`d be amazed at what there is in there:rotfl:. Watch this space, but don`t hold your breath, DS should be Spanish, he`s a great believer in manana.

Make your own..........ok so its a bit dog chewed now and it gets a new loose cover every couple of months but here is how you do it. Visit local DIY store and buy 4 leggies - I chose the Queen Anne well turned ones.....oval plate from kitchen cupboard as a template, mark onto wood (think it was a dodd of chipboard in my case) and cut out, couldn't find any sandpaper at all, glued and screwed leggies onto base, removed a cushion off the sofa/chair and squished it under the bit of material...nailed/staple gunned material to stool.. Took me longer to find the leggies in the DIY shop than it did to make the whole ensemble......oh and you could have it oblong or square or any shape it saws out to. Sack DS and do it yourself, after your hospital trip that is...sisters are doing it for themselves!

oval was 10" x 14" leggies were 6" but you get to make it any size or style you like.

Dont know what its like there but its absolutely chucking it down here! my cousin and his wife and twins are popping in for a cuppa later so will be good to see them.
Dinner went well yesterday; two of them fell alseep - always feels like a bizarre compliment as they feel relaxed enough to sleep lol! Bless them they have been non stop all week so no wonder they are shattered! Food went down well too and it was a lovely evening! BBQ this lunch time that didnt quite pan out but we had a lovely time as a church family and said a goodbye to our guests!
Now going to chill with a capital C as feel more tired than I have for a long time!
Hoping the fact that its quiet on here is just an indication that youre having fun and beavering away!
    big hugs...

Jean - I truly hope I haven't missed anything in your previous posts, but I had no idea you were going to be having radiotherapy, and I wish you the very best of luck with it on Tuesday. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

  • Nobody missed any posts.......I kept shtume....till I knew whether it was to be radiotherapy (the wireless - hope they are playing my tune) or chemotherapy (got the wigs already), no point in all of us worrying now was there? I have been assured by the oncologist that it will be over and done with before I am even aware of it having started...well we shall see about that one. I will keep in touch and let you all know what it all involves - I need to wait on the first lot on Tuesday before he commits himself and tells me what is in store. So love and squishy cuddles to you all

Hi all hope you`ve had a good weekend.

I finally got rid of the weeds at the front of the garden and now have the pansies, begonias etc planted too. Had done most of it myself then two of my neighbours came along and did the last bit for me. Just have the wee bit up the side to do but I can do it sitting on the low wall.

Jean - I have !! Well nearly anyway. I cheated though, Lidl had a footstool when I was in the other day only £3.99 so had to have one. I`d probably have been dearer for leggies at the DIY place.
Will pad it up a bit with a bit of old duvet and crochet a cover for it, maybe do that while I`m waiting for `the procedure` on Tuesday. been told that it`s a day case - in and out the same day, but if there`s an emergency comes in I won`t be done :(

Both of us having treatment the same day, hope they make a good job of things for us.

Been flitting from task to task so no update this week - nothing finished :o Might get some finished next week when I`m confined to barracks for a few days, hope so anyway.
