I am being so good I shall be sent a halo and wings in the post.....DH has now banned me from the upstairs after my rushing around on Friday but what does he know.
I had a catch up appointment with my GP last evening and he is very happy with my progress, so got to drive back from the village as a treat ......BOY AM I EASILY IMPRESSED these days.
My neighbour and DH are still on my case and making sure with the district nurse that I am not doing to much too soon...........its really getting a bit wearing although I understand they only have my best interests at heart.
Am missing doing all sorts of lovely things but will just have to content myself for the time being and keep at the crochet and hand knitting Oh if I thought night time TV in France was bad........was I in for a shocker.........DAYTIME TV IN FRANCE IS EVEN WORSE! So I am going through quite a lot of books now.
Ye all take great care, will get back when I am next allowed up the stairs....they nab the cable for the lapdog from me and hide it....how rotten is that?

Hi everyone - a pinch and a punch for the first of the month. Can you believe it's June already?!
Yesterday just ran away from me and I didn't get much chance to sit at the computer for more than a quick read every now and again. I'm up early so I thought I'd get the update done before I do anything else, just in case the day whizzes by again! You can find the update by clicking into my name at the side of this post, then going to my 'homepage'. Well done on all your totals. Looking at the running total on Jean's lovely update spreadsheet, I see that so far this year we are up to 1032 items - that's over 200 a month, so please all of you pat yourselves on the back and take a gold star! I think that's amazing considering that some of us are very busy in our 'real' lives!
For now, I'm going to keep to doing the squares, some for Mrs Twins, some for Kyoyu Kyoyu, and some Emergency squares; it will help me to use up all the oddments in my stash, and they are quick to do. I am tempted, though, to do a hex cardi, seeing as how Jean is hooked on them!
Jean - I hope you are feeling rested now that you have been confined to quarters!
Prfungi - great to hear from you! I hope you are keeping well? Thanks for posting the pattern for F1.
F1 - when my youngest used to go away to his Nan's, I must confess that I used to do a little jump for joy because he was a lively handful! I think it did us both good, and my mum really enjoyed having him. She was great when all her grandchildren were younger; she would have them, two or three at a time, right through the summer holidays. They always had a brilliant time, and she stocked them up with happy memories that have stayed with them.
Shaz - I hope your week is going well.
Well, on the BIL front, his latest scan and tests have shown that he is doing remarkably well. Whatever the hospital has done, and whatever he is doing himself, along with my sister's tender loving care, is working wonders. He is currently feeling as fit as a fiddle, and is back to taking the stairs two at a time; he is able to work on the boat he has been doing up for years, and has even gone fishing a few times. He has had his last dose of chemotherapy and there is no more planned for a while so, although the long term is still far from certain and he will need to be monitored regularly, things are look good and far far better than we even dared to hope. When we last spoke, he was even looking at flights to France, and hoping to plan a visit in between appointments! It would be absolutely fantastic if they could come over during the warm weather. They won't try driving in case anything goes wrong; my sister can't drive for long due to her osteoarthritis, so he would have to do it all himself, but they could manage an hour's flight, and we could pick them up from the airport. Anyway, we are keeping everything crossed that they can come and stay! I shall be bursting with excitement if they can!
We've had lots of Skypes with the boys and their families lately. All the grandchildren are looking wonderful, all fit, healthy and energetic. The two eldest ones, Sam and Lucy, have won medals for running, Summer is in her own bed (which we saw on Skype - it's from Ikea and has a canopy over it in the form of a big green leaf - she loves it, and I'll have to get some wool when I am back in the UK to make her a blanket and a cushion to match it!), and Megan is smiling away, eating and sleeping well, and really thriving. Although I feel so far away and can't wait to see them, I feel so blessed that they are all healthy and happy. I am a lucky mum and nanny!
Anyway, my back is more or less better now; thanks for all the good wishes. It aches if I sit in the same position for too long but, apart from that, it's fine, just feeling a bit 'elderly'!
I hope you've all had some good weather; the forecast for the UK is a real mixed bag from what I can see. It's been amazing here - regularly in the 30s - but we really must have some rain soon. Everything is looking so parched. The farmer is having to keep moving his cows around. He had to fix the fence between our building plot land and our garden; we've let his cows graze on the land but they escaped into the garden one evening and had to be rounded up. The grass has grown well, so now that he has mended the fence, they have moved back in - they are enjoying the grass that has grown since their last visit, and it saves us having to cut it down ourselves. Everyone's a winner! There are three gorgeous calves there, too; they're so cute, they think they're spring lambs and are always running around playing!
Anyway, I'd better go and put the kettle on. We have to visit the holiday home later - the guests who are there have reported a problem with the washing machine. Then I need to check that I've got supplies in - it's a bank holiday here on Thursday and, knowing the French, they will probably extend that into the Friday and have themselves a long weekend!

Hi
I haven't deserted you, and I look in to see how you all are. Been really busy lately.
Have a blessed and prosperous day. Hugd to all in need (((hugs))) Love you all.
xA work in progress0 -
Thanks, Jean - I shall print it off. The ruffles look as if they've been added on after the jacket has been finished, but I shall just do the basic one without them, I think. I hope the nurse is pleased with your progress and doesn't have to tell you off for overding it!
Salome - great to hear from you. I hope life is treating you and your family well.
