    Hello everyone

Had a busy week with OH on holiday, so we've been busy in the garden and had a couple of nice outings too. Not much time for posting, either here or on my blog, but rainbow puppet knitting still progressing.

Totals are correct in my signature.

    Hugs to all

  • Thank you all for your warm wishes to be well, they are working honestly. Last week must count as one of lifes DOWNS, I am fine this morning, after a rotten couple of days, the medication to get rid of the spots and swelling for the allergic reaction WAS WORSE than the allergy.........distorted vision, banging head, sickness, drumming in the ears (like a sort of vertigo).......my neighbour came up yesterday to check that I was OK (nursing sister) told me I hadn't been drinking nearly enough water, which MAY have caused some of the symptoms......that was all I needed more loo visits. Last of the strong meds to be taken today then I change to another tablet and its only one a day (I think). So all in all an experience not to be repeated.
The good news is I have managed to crack the treble crochet malarky.......will hope to post a picture of the hexagon cardigan I am just finishing some time today - providing I understand the finishing off instructions - you know how easily I am confused at the best of times.
Love and cuddles to you all, well done on the blanket Mrs Twins, I see you also take knitted squares (my crochet is still in the learning stage), F1 you can come anytime I will show you how to make the microwave sponge cake and we can sit eating cake, drinking cuppa's, doing a bit of yarn work etc. Off to try and catch up with the LH challenge launch then a quietish day finishing that cardigan....isn't crochet ADDICTIVE, or is that because its a new passion for me?
    xx

OH and we had the most horrendous thunder and lightening storm most of Saturday and again from 5.am this morning....great swathes of lighting glashing across the sky - looked good, hailstones still in the garden! Its May for goodness sake.

    Hi everyone

I haven't had much time on here lately. Yesterday was spent recovering from the lovely barbecue we went to on Saturday night. We had a great time and a good nose around the lovely house that our hosts have just moved into. Like ours, it's an old stone farmhouse and, like ours was, there is SO much work to be done, but it will be worth it. We had some wonderful food, great wine and brilliant company, but it all made me feel a bit slow yesterday!

Today, we've been loading our one-ton trailer with the topsoil that someone has given to us but, luckily, a friend of ours felt sorry for me and is now helping DH to do the last one or two trailer-loads in return for a cuppa and piece of my 'Saturday' cake!

I've done the update so thanks for the totals. To find it, just click into my name at the left-hand side of this post, then go to my 'homepage'. Please let me know if there are any mistakes! Nothing at all from me for this update, but DH will be working from about the middle of this week, so I should have some uninterrupted time to crochet, with any luck. I also have some online work to do; I've had a good week and three pieces of freelance writing that I wrote months ago and placed up for grabs on a particular site have sold, so that's extra in the kitty!

WE had a rotten start this morning weatherwise but now it's like the middle of summer; lovely and sunny and warm.

Anakat - love the heart and well done on mastering the crochet! Attic 24 is a great site, isn't it? Very inspirational. There's a Flickr group called 'Attic 24 Inspired' whichs shows photos of lots of things that her blog followers have made.

Jean - I'm glad you can see how addictive crochet can be! And I'm really glad that you are feeling better; that was a nasty dose of whatever it was!

Chalky - hope you are having a great time with the girls!

Pippa - I've looked at the LH challenges but, for the life of me, I can't find the bit about the chemo dolls. Can you point me in the right direction, please?! Edited to say I've found it!

Well, I'm off to put the kettle on.
