Welcome to Gilliganstyle - I hope you enjoy it here! I see that Chalky has pointed you in the right direction to find out exactly what we do!

Well, the usn is shining again. We've had lovely weather for days now, apart from two thunderstorms that have both happened in early evenings, so quite convenient really!

We've been busy in the garden and also painting, so not much time for woolly stuff this week. We also have to collect the topsoil I found the other day; three tons of it! We'll have to make two or three trips with the trailer and some shovels, so that will be a bit of a chore but worth it.

We've been invited to a BBQ on Saturday. Friends of ours have recently moved into a new house, so it will be a housewarming. We're really looking forward to that, especially as it will give me a day off from cooking!

I'm working on squares for Mrs Twins because I can dip in and out of them and it uses up all the oddments I have - I need to make room for all the wool that I will buy when we eventually get back home! We're still waiting for our health cards - despite chasing up, the French just don't seem to treat anything with any sense of urgency. It drives me mad but there's not much we can do but hurry up and wait. I really was hoping we could have been back in the UK for the Royal Wedding atmosphere.

Anyway, breakfast calls. Will call in later. I hope you all have a lovely day!

Just noted that the little red hearts are done in wool/wool mix so they can be felted?

Hoping that you're not planning on felting them and just wanted them knitted? Although I could be wrong....

hi everyone, hope everyone is ok, been busy packing today, taking kids to coast for weekend, in a caravan on haven park this time, hoping they behave better than last week when we went away.
shelly, i'll start on hats and bootees when i get back.
going to take sock i've to finish for friends daughter's birthday with me, so i can finish it, and get them sent off in time.
kathy, hope you sort the red tape soon

thanks for the welcome, I've had a read back and followed some of the links so have a better idea now. Not sure what I'll do with the squares I've knitted as they were more to remind myself of the various stitches, so are a mix of patterns in Dk as that's what I had in the house, and I haven't been able to get to a market or anything. So this weekend I will get some different wools ( I have enough needles, both mine and my nana's old metal ones, to stock a shop)

Gilliganstyle - Loving Hands will take squares to sew into blankets, and Mrs Twins collects 6" squares, too.

A bit cooler here today, but it promises to brighten up later. The Royal Wedding is on TV so I shall be dipping in and out of that, especially to see 'the' dress! Sadly, it's not a bank holiday here; DH is working and I will be working online a bit later. We do have a bank holiday on 1st May but, because that's a Sunday, and France has its bank holidays on the day they actually fall, there will be no proper bank holiday, IYSWIM!

The weather forecast is good for tomorrow when we will be going to a housewarming barbecue, so I'm looking forward to that.

I've nearly finished another square for Mrs Twins. I'm not getting too much spare time (what's new?!), so I'll stick to uncomplicated things like squares for the time being.

Mrs MW - thinking of you and hoping that things are going as well as can be expected.

Seraphim - thoughts are with you, also.

Maytaurus - hope you are as well as can be.
