Hello to one and all --- and lots of love tucked in. Gentle thoughts to all those with their hands overflowing!
Yoga this morning ---- but body feeling a bit on the tired side!!!!!!

Then we took a friend out for lunch in a very Spanish village. It is tiny, tiny, called Sapalmo. The owner wears a red waistcoat and his wife cooks -- Oh! and he is the mayor of the village toboot!

Anyway a menu del dia is 10 Euro and we had a salad--- then cheese and black sausage ---Next Gazpacho -- Then 4 Lamb Chops with chips and a fried egg added ( goodness knows why -- must have had a few spare!) Then a selection of puddings -- Don't forget the coffee -- Oh! and before we forget a bottle of wine and water and ALL that for the princely sum of 10 Euros a person.
Can I book for a party of us next week. Any day you can make it!!

I am really enjoying making some squares for Mrs Twins at the moment --- Good to get back to some Charity work
    xxx to all

    Hi everyone

I hope you all had a good Easter and that the weather was warm and sunny. It was lovely here apart from a thunderstorm on Saturday evening; lots of noisy thunder, sheet lightning, and hail stones but at least it was at the end of a beautiful day, and the gardens certainly need it - we have a hose pipe ban starting today!

Yesterday, we just pottered around and tried to have a proper bank holiday, although DH did get on with building a new step at the entrance to a stone barn which is attached to the house. It's used for storage at the moment, as well as being the summer home to two pairs of swallows!

Where the horrid old barn used to be, DH has raked it all flat and cleared it of stones. We now need to add topsoil and then we want to grass it over. I've managed to find three tons of the five tons of topsoil we need. We will go and look at it this morning; luckily, it's only ten minutes away. The downside is that it will need shovelling on to the trailer by hand, probably over a couple of days, so that will be our next project! I suppose it will keep me fit!

As for crocheting, I got next to nothing done last week. I have a few WIPs that I will try my best to get finished this week, but the time really does get eaten up here. I just don't know where it goes!

Total: Mrs Twins square: 1 (Tropical)

Seraphim - if you're reading this, I am sending lots of hugs your way.

Dawn - thinking of you, and everyone else who is missing someone special.

Pippa - thanks for asking. BIL spent a couple of days in hospital last week. His immune system is low and the doctors decided to take him in and put him on a course of strong antibiotics to build him up ready for his next chemo session. It was their wedding anniversary at the time - not the way they wanted to spend it, but they are grateful that the hospital is taking such good care of him.

Well, I can hear the birds outside singing like mad. We have quite a little community of them here now. All the outbuildings have swallows nesting in them, the woodpecker still visits every day to feast on the fat balls that are hanging up outside. The blue tits and great tits don't feed as often as they used to because they are busy nesting. We have redstarts, chaffinches, greenfinches, goldcrests, wrens, sparrows, robins, thrushes, and blackbirds as well as the swallows that entertain us with their spitfire displays. I am so pleased that we kept them all fed and watered during the freezing cold weather, because they are certainly rewarding us now. We can still hear frogs enjoying their mating, at least two cuckoos, and some hoopoes, and the crickets are well and truly up and running, and every day we get a flying exhibition from buzzards and red kites. Sometimes, it sounds like the Amazonian jungle outside!

Well, I have done the update which should have been done yesterday! Thank you for your totals! You will find the update by clicking into my name at the side of this post, then going to my 'homepage'. Please let me know if there are any mistakes, and I will go straight back and correct them!

I hope you all have a brilliant day.

Hi Purple Teddy Bear -- I hope you are feeling a bit brighter -- Lots of love.
We live near Torquay well quite near but actually in a tiny village -- 1 pub and 1 church type!
Sadly we have a wedding in of all places, Buffalo!! My OH has 2 wonderful nephews ( I have loads!!!) and the oldest has fallen in love with an American girl so we have to go --- and want to of course. Doh is his Godfather and is doing a reading at the wedding. They have always been close. Thank goodness for the endowment which matured this year!

So that is a long explanation as to why we won't be in Devon for 3 weeks in August!!

Well we have had a perfect day visiting some friends high in the mountains. We popped into the local market and then were spoilt with the most delicious lunch and walk up a beautiful donkey track. Then were sent home with delicious veggies straight from the garden -- Perfect.

DD and friends arrive tomorrow and weather forecast still not good but we shall see. I have been busy cooing this evening in readiness for some spoiling for them.

No woolly stuff for me for a few days methinks! Love to one and all

Miol hope that the bil is ok...
    PTB thinking of you..:)
busy couple of days here as got spinning wheel and went to meet a woman who has sheep locally! If anyone is interested in wool fresh from the sheep she will sell it for £5 per fleece plus P&P..this means that you would have to process it. For people like me thats fab as means that I wash, card and spin it and I kinda like the fact that I start from it in its raw state! This has meant much washing of wool in the last few days but its satisfying watching it get cleaner! I always was a bit odd though!!
Right lovelies just noticed that masterchef final about to start! I want the quiet bloke (Tim?) to win...I dont dislike the others just like him most! Gentle and unassuming!

***pops in to say hello ****

    Hi

I am sitting in my hotel room ( I work away from home) and have recently got back into knitting and crochet, so have only done 'granny squares' up to now with crochet and knitted squares in various patterns to get me back into knitting.

I was pointed in the direction of this thread by someone on DFW (where I normally live) so hope you don't mind me posting.
