Hi everyone
Chalky - hope you have a safe trip back. Wish I was heading in that direction!
Shaz - you poor thing. You really seem to have had a rough time of it lately. HOpefully, the antibiotics will work their magic quickly.
Pippa - thinking of you and your DH, and sending positive vibes.
PurpleTeddyBear - I love your hexagon jacket. I think I might have a go at one; they turn out really eyecatching, and made such a change from a basic cardie.
Mrs Moneypenny - what a sad reason to wear pink for, but a lovely thing to do.
Well, I've tackled a pile of ironing and I'm just about to hoover the bedrooms, then I should have some spare time this afternoon. DH is busy erecting scaffolding for the job (elsewhere, for other people - yay!) that he starts on Monday, so all is very quiet, or it will be once the hoovering's been done. I need to pack up the squares I've made for Mrs Twins and get them in the post over the weekend, and I'm busy looking for a quick and easy pattern for chemo dolls for LH - if I find any, I'll post them on here.

Pippa - I can't blame your DH for wanting to keep busy; it's exactly what mine would do. Like yours, a cuppa is the only way to make him stop for a while! I hope you don't get kept waiting for too long at the hospital; it's good that you don't have to drive far. Will be thinking of you both this afternoon.

 Hi everyone, hope you`re all enjoying your weekend.
Sorry I`ve been AWOL for the last couple of weeks, but it`s been one thing after another here.
I`ve been a bit under the weather as the old ticker has been playing up again. Trips to nurse for ecg`s, GP appointments - meds been changed/increased, letter to cardiology asking if more tests etc.are required.
Also had a phone call on Tuesday telling me Jim`s brother in law had died suddenly. What a shock that was. They reckon it was a massive heart attack and the paramedics couldn`t do anything for him He would have been 57 next month. Funeral on Monday, and if that`s not enough we`ve been hit by the icky - sicky bug here as well!!Never rains but what it pours. Deep joy.
Just had a quick skim through and see hugs might be needed in certain quarters. For those of you undergoing hospital tests, scans or just feeling downright miserable with colds etc here`s a (((BIG HUG))). Och, have one anyway even if you aren`t feeling poorly, they never go amiss.
Jean and Dawn, well done on the cardies. I haven`t progressed much beyond the granny squares/blankets, although I can just about manage Lucy`s (attic24) ripple blanket as long as I have the picture destructions in front of me. Reading a crochet pattern is still like double dutch to me as yet  maybe one day I`ll `get it` Knitting patterns never seem so difficult tho`.
Have to have a sort through the wooly pile and see what I can take to hand over to Lou for Loving Hands next Saturday at Perth - fingers crossed we`ll still manage to get there. DD & little J are coming with me so we`ll maybe manage a wee visit to see some flutterbyes and creepy crawlies near Edinburgh as well over the weekend.
Off to plant up some mini begonia plants now. Ordered them late on Tuesday afternoon and the postie knocked with them this morning!!
Very quick service, had to go and buy some more compost as I didn`t have any left - just hope they grow and don`t die on menot that I`m a pessimist ............
Washing machine is on it`s final spin so the last of the bedding can go out for a while before the rain comes on later.
Bye for now.
Elaine.x
Cross posted shaz - here`s an extra special hug for you (((hug))) stay strong, even though you probably feel like running away from it all.Fully paid up member of S.A.B.L.E.

Shaz - I'm so sorry that things are not good for you right now. Are you managing to get the help that has been offered? If you are, it sounds as if it's not enough, and perhaps that needs to be addressed. Can you get in touch with the authorities about it? I wish I could come up with something more helpful and practical. Your mum sounds wonderful, and very generous. Please thank her for all her hard work. Sending lots of hugs to you and hope that things get better soon.
Elaine - so sorry to hear about Jim's brother-in-law; what a shock especially at that age. Hugs to the family. I hope you start feeling better soon.
Mrs Twins - obviously I can't take the tickets but it's very kind of you to offer them, and I really hope someone on here can use them.
Well, we've had a mixture of cool rain and hot sun - the weather can't make up its mind today.
Hope Chalky got back safely.

elaine, sorry to hear the bad news about your bil, at such a young age too. hope you all get over the sicky bug soon too, had it last weekend, and its not pleasant, ((hugs))
kathy, its very warm here too, despite a heavy shower earlier. not getting any help from the authorities yet, been told yesterday that paperwork is in the post. also had an appointment with a solicitor who has written to the legal services department of the local authority, pointing out what they are obliged to provide by law, so i shall keep u all informed of what happens.
had a trip to hobbycraft this afternoon, and i must have been feeling ill, came away without rescueing a single ball lol
however i did buy an easy crochet book, at least that what it says on the cover. also bought an 8mm crochet hook, with the intention of making thick granny squares for isom cat charity
love to all
