:hello: Hello F1 - and everyone else of course - I`m still here.

Been busy in the greenhouse for the past few days pricking out pansy seedlings. Got hundreds of them and still more coming, so the family will be getting lots of them for their gardens as well.

I`ve also been sorting out recipes for the next Loving Hands recipe book so that`s been keeping me busy as well. If any of you LH members would like to contribute a recipe or two let me know, the more the merrier. I know some of you don`t get the chance to pop in there often so may not have seen the posts asking for recipes.

Have managed to do some more crochet though :T and now have a couple of biggish squares -about 15in I think- maybe do for cat blanket/s. Can`t decide if I should stitch them together to make it thicker though.

Must get some things finished off. You know, the sewing up, sewing on buttons, sewing in ends etc. Actually being completely finished, not still languishing in the UFO basket.

Well, little J has actually learned to crawl now. Just took off on Thursday so now we have to look out, he`s into eveything :p The dvd`s are the favourite things so might have to rehome them for a while up on a high shelf along with all the other `interesting` things.

Will have a look and see what I can declare for update and will return later.

    Have a good day all.

It's been a while since I visited here.

Now I'm back into puppet production, and have started my way towards my annual 100 puppets - long way to go, though. I'm into rainbow-coloured ones at the moment - nice and bright and cheerful. I've done 3 so far - here is the first:

Also been busy in the garden in this lovely sunny weather.

Best wishes to all who visit here - it's hard to keep track of you all, so sorry not to mention individuals. You all do a great job, though!

Right, back to pupet making - at least I can sit in the garden now as we got the patio furniture out yesterday!

    Hi everyone

Jean - I'm glad the cough medicine is working and that it tastes good; are you sure it's not eau de vie?!

Elaine - I love pansies; I bought some a few weeks ago, including some in the most delicious citrusy-orange colour. For such beautiful delicate looking flowers, I think they are really tough and seem to withstand just about any weather conditions.

ISOM - I hope you don't suffer any tooth pain this week!

Puppetlady - what a lovely cheerful puppet!

Thanks for all your totals. Believe it or not, I have just done the update - I woke up early with the teapot on my mind and just had to get up for a cuppa, so I thought I may as well get on with the update because I have a few errands to run today. I have to do some red tape chasing up, of course; what day here would be complete without that?! Then DH and I will visit the holiday home we look after to mow the lawns and do some weeding. The house had a leak at the water meter so we need to see if the water company has sorted it out. The first guests arrive in May, which isn't too far away now.

The latest update on my BIL is that he is in hospital at the moment. His immune system is very low following his last dose of chemo, and he has picked up a slight cold. They have taken him in to give him some strong antibiotics to build him up ready for the next round of chemo. Apart from that, he's not feeling at all ill. The tumour has neither shrunk nor got any bigger, and they've said that the cancer hasn't spread so things are looking reasonably good so far. The sad thing is that he and my sister had planned to go to Wales for a little holiday to celebrate their wedding anniversary and, instead, he has had to spend it in hospital but at least they know he is receiving the best of care.

The update can be found by clicking into the name at the side of my post, then going to my 'homepage'. Please let me know if there are any mistakes!

For anyone lurking who would like to join us, to find out what we do please go to page 95 of this thread, then to post number 1885. Please join us - you will find the warmest of welcomes and it doesn't matter how well or not so well your knitting, crocheting, or sewing is!

My totals - sadly, not as much as I would like to have got done but I hope to have more time this week:

    2 snakes
1 Mrs Twins square (Tropical challenge)

    Have a great day everyone.

Thank you for the kind thoughts everyone. Everything is made doubly hard because the NHS have consistently failed me - both during my pregnancy and during my daughter's life. I am still waiting for some results which should have been back 3 months ago because they keep screwing the tests up :(

I took a break from charity knitting this weekend and finished my first pair of socks - had the wool for ages but didn't have the courage to give them a go. I think the cat is pleased they are finished as he was getting fed up of being poked.

puppetlady: love the colours you have used for the puppet!

mioliere: Glad to hear the barn project went well :)

Kathy, you must be delighted to have a lovely view like that instead of a rusty old barn, I know what I would rather see. ;) er no, not the barn :rotfl:although I do like to see some old buildings, well cared for ones.

Have decided that I really must go and dig out all my stuff for Loving Hands and make sure they are properly finished. There`s bound to be some ends which need sewing in / cutting off. I have a terrible habit of `finishing` a project and being eager to start something else, leave the item lying in the corner with the odd bit needing done. I must be more disciplined and actually completely finish them. What is it they say - the road to H*ll is paved with good intentions. Better get a move on, don`t want to land up there, can`t stand toooo much heat:eek:

Nice and sunny here today again so have been sticking pansy seedlings into hanging baskets and pots now. I love them because their smiley little faces look so cheery and always lift my spirits so they will be everywhere I can find a space. Bonus is when they have a nice smell as well - some of them don`t unfortunately.

Enjoy the rest of the day and hugs to anyone who needs them. I know some folks have a lot on their plates at the moment so feel free to grab a few if you want them. I`ve been fortunate enough to have been given lots here in the past so now it`s payback time.:)

Back later maybe - if I don`t get bogged down by UFO`s :(

Seraphim - that is so sad. How on earth can they not get the tests right after what you've been through? I hope that your mind can find some peace soon, although I know that it will never make up for your loss.

Elaine - I don't know one knitter or crocheter who finishes all their work completely before starting something else! I have things that needed finishing years ago, and they've all ended up in carrier bags so that I don't have to look at them! One day, maybe, I'll get round to finishing them all - but I doubt it!

Hello everyone and lots of love tucked in--- Have had a really difficult day as for some reason my thigh has been painful for the last 2 months. Just like someone has given me a dead leg. We have never had the need to try the medical services here although I am sure they are good. We have still got DS and DDIL here so when my leg became really painful when we were out walking I could barely conceal my discomfort. Anyway we came home and I owned up filled a bottle ( with a crochet Cover!) Took 2 Ibrobrufen and promptly fell asleep. DDIl said I have never known you poorly before which is just as I like it. I, for a moment got really worried about Deep Vein Thrombosis after all our flying earlier on in the year when it started! But it seems a lot better so hopefully normal service will be resumed very soon!! DH is cooking tea so thank goodness for that!

I am on a mission at the moment to make a story bag for a lovely friend of ours who has 2 Grand Daughters. She sadly lost her husband with a massive heart attack but is one of the most inspirational people I know. She is wonderful to our whole family so the Story Bag is a way of saying Thank You and we love you at the same time . Bonkers pictures soon.

Seraphim I have sent you a private message x

I am looking forward to the next Loving Hands Challenge as well.

I have not heard from the Hedgehog Hospital this year as yet so I wonder if they are going to become redundant.

Well tea is ready so must go but lots of gentle thoughts to all x
Try and do a good deed every day.

Hi Chalky - sorry to hear about the pain you've been having but please don't take any chances; if it keeps hurting you really must get it looked at. Do you have your EHIC card? This gives you the right to treatment as if you were in your own country. Incidentally, it's the French version of the EHIC that is one of the things we are chasing up over here.
The story bag sounds intriguing - please share photos with us when it's completed!
