evening all, chalky i will try those affirmations, thanks, hope they work for you too f1.
well the boys seem more mature today, josh voluntarily gave me a hug and thanked me for his pressies, josh never does hugs as a rule. daniel always gives hugs, and today was no exception, they were really happy with there presents, which were mainly clothes, but they were all brand names which i knew they would love, and an electric shaver, all grown up now lol.
my bf came to see us this evening, to spend time getting to know the lads a bit more as well as me.
he has only just left, as he has to be up at 4am for his flight. still cant believe my luck at finding someone sooo gorgeous, i feel so lucky. wont be seeing him for approx 3 months as he is being sent by army to kenya, too far to come home for a weekend.
i shall certainly be dreaming about him tonight.
kathy, the french way of life sounds so calm and relaxing, i love to hear you tell us about it and all your neighbours
ptb, how are you? hope the kiddies are enjoying the holidays
pippa, glad you had lovely weather, it really makes all the difference
    hugs all

    Hi everyone

ISOM - sorry I got your totals wrong; I'll put that right this morning. Hope you had a pain-free night's sleep.

F1 - please don't feel you have to 'get more done'. It doesn't matter how many things anyone makes - each single item is as important as hundreds. My totals are really poor these days because I am so short of meaningful time. I dream that one day things will settle down and that my time will become my own, but that may remain just that - a dream! Our neighbours are fine, by the way. They are the ones getting married in July with a huge wedding planned; we are looking forward to that so much and it means I'll just have to buy a new dress (and probably shoes and a bag to go with it, of course!)

Chalky - F1's offer of an Alan Dart pattern is well worth taking up. If you google Alan Dart you will see that his patterns are, indeed, exquisite - the man's designs are remarkable. Having said that, amigurumi is really easy - the only thing you have to remember is to mark each row which is easy - just use a short piece of contrasting wool and move it at the start of every row. There are lots of free amigurumi patterns to be found online. I hope you can find the right princess!

Sock-knitter - I'm so glad that your new man wants to get to know the boys. What a shame that he has had to go away for three months, though. I hope that that three months goes by quickly and that you are able to keep in touch easily. Skype is wonderful for keeping in touch over the miles.

I started a Mrs Twins square last night - I've done the basic square and now need to design something tropical to put on it. I enjoyed doing the Royal Wedding squares - again just basic squares with separate pieces of crochet sewn on to make pictures. She has some great challenges at the moment which will help me use up all the oddments in my stash.

Pippa - welcome back. I'm so glad you had a good time and that the weather was so good for your trip away.

Well, I'm off to put the kettle on again - what would life be like with our cuppas?!

Afternoon all, thanks for the welcome back :D

Been a strange day, one of those when I just jumped from one thing to another and it looks as though I have done nothing, truth is I just had the fidgets and could'nt stay still, but everything that REALLY needed doing (like housework) still REALLY needs doing.
But....I did get my parcels ready to send off, and sorted my wool stash out... again...that is something that is never ending ;) and now I have 2 empty plastic boxes :)

chalky - managed a few of your snakes while we were away, it may turn out to be an obsession ;)
PTB - hello :wave:nice to see you
kathy - love the pig, amigurumi animals always look so good but I just can't get my head round it
shaz - I am so pleased you have a new man in your life you deserve one, it's good that he gets on with the boys as well :) Glad they had a nice birthday
f1 - The pattern I use is on 8mm needles and doubled up aran or chunky it grows really quick and makes an adult hat in no time, but you could always use 9mm for a larger hat.
seraphim - well done :Tand dont worry about the finishing I am sure it looks fine
ISOM -hope you are feeling better now x

Better go get something sorted for Dinner
    may be back later

Seeing all the granny squares reminded me that my granny covered her arm chair in them, she didn't make a throw but made a loose cover, shaped roung the wings and arms, it facinated me as a child and must have taken her hours of work. But she was a very determined lady, who was rather fierce. She even made her ' laying out gown', pale green, I remember, with embroidery round the neck, not sure who she thought was going to appreciate it!
