What a lovely little pig mioliere, along with the rest of the things you've made. The little dolls are so sweet, wish I had someone to make the for.

Jean well done, I truly believe there's nothing you can't do!

    Chalky your blog is inspirational.
  • well I am fighting with the wee blanket Prfungi sent me the link for.....seems I have lots of holes in it...sure that isn't right, will see how I feel about it in the morning - there again the big fat hookie might arrive and I will just have to make dog beds (fingers crossed please). Chalky been for a look at the crochet instructions, ALSO recommended the tutorials to Grannydo over on Loving Hands, its so clear and easy to follow, the videos do my head in and they are mostly in American so the hooks and the terms are all wrong! Why am I moaning, at least I can look on line and see how to do things these days.
Kinsey - you have to try things, so you can work out what you are capable off - push the boundaries every day, its good for you .....
Off to do a bit of jumper knitting (its simple and just what I need to relax).

You come across online as a really lovely person, that's why :) Good luck :)

I finished off my first cardigan and angel pocket last night. I'm pleased... but I don't know if the quality is good enough - the knitting bit is fine but my finishing skills are not brilliant.

    Hi everyone

Shaz - I really hope it works out for you; you definitely deserve it! Please don't wonder what he sees in you - I echo precisely what Seraphim has just said!

ISOM - oh, you poor thing; you'll be so glad when this round of treatment is over. It will all be worth it in the end so just hang on in there! The most important thing is not to smoke after treatment (just in case you are a smoker!), and hopefully your dentist will have advised on painkillers. Root canal treatment is probably worse than an extraction, not least because it can take so long for the treatment to be carried out, and no-one wants to spend hours in the dental chair,do they?

Seraphim - I bet your cardi is lovely but please don't question your knitting skills - your cardi will be most welcome by a little one in need. Here, it's not a competition to see who can make the most or the best; we do it all for the ones who need it, and I think it's wonderful that so many people will give so generously of their materials and whatever time they have in their busy lives to help those less fortunate. It spreads a lovely warm glow!

Chalky - how lovely to have some of your favourite people coming to visit you! Have a great time with them!

Jean - hope you're up and running now and that your hook has arrived!

Well, I've done the update which can be found by clicking into my name at the side of this post, then going to my 'homepage'. Please let me know if there are any mistakes; I can easily correct them! I haven't added my latest snakes because they all need eyes and tongues!

We have managed to arrange to get rid of all the straw that was in the barn that is currently being demolished. I spoke to the mairie yesterday and he has spoken to the farmer whose farm is at the end of our land. He came round to look at the straw and, because it's been under cover all the time, he said it will be suitable for bedding for his animals. So he is coming round on Friday with some sort of machinery (don't know what because he speaks no English at all, and by this part of the conversation we were down to hand gestures!) to collect it. He usually mows the grass on our building plots for us but has asked if he can put some of his cows on them to graze, so they will be arriving shortly. I'm ridiculously excited about that because there are some calves in the herd and they are so cute! They are beautiful cows and I never tire of watching them.

Anyway, that's the news so far today. I have to nip out to the shops to get some milk - considering there's just the two of us, I don't know how we get through so much - DH has hollow legs when it comes to tea and coffee, but I only take milk in tea and have all my coffee black, yet we still get through gallons of the stuff! Most of the French drink the long-life stuff but we're not mad on that except in emergencies; luckily, the supermarkets sell a limited amount of fresh, which I am sure is mainly for the Brits!

it was a cool grey start this morning but is lovely sunny and warm here now. Hope you all have some sun!
