  • well the dogs obviously helped by staying well out of my way! I haven't crocheted (is that a word) round the sides and bottom as I haven't got a clue how to do that, so will look that up tomorrow oh you might want to wear your SUN GLASSES for the picture!
I do love a splash of colour - don't you? Can I now be a HOOKER or do I continue to practice?

I can see that they would become extremely addictive........(not adding this one to my total this week as it's yet to be finished properly)

    Hello everyone

I lurk on this thread and got a bit inspired so I bought some flamenco wool at the market in Wells today to make one of those thin curly scarves with one ball of wool.. It looked easy when the stalholder-a lovely lady-showed me how. BIG Mistake!

Anyhoo is there anyone here who knits with this here who could help me? It nearly got thrown across the room just now.

    Good morning, everyone.

Chalky - hope you had a lovely evening!

Jean - the photos are lovely and your crocheting is brilliant - I love the colours you've used! Hope your cough goes soon but don't let it hang on and on in case you have a chest infection.

Shaz - glad you're enjoying the gym, and the extra movitation when you get there!

Lovecrafting - there are lots of online tutorials for crochet, and I promise that, once you've 'got' it, you'll wonder why you ever thought it was difficult! By the way, everyone loses their hooks now and again - I have doubles of most of mine just in case!

Gintomelinda - welcome to you. I've not heard of Flamenco wool but it sounds lovely. I shall google it later.

Well, the barn is now down to the bare bones and we can see just how much more view we will have once it's completely gone. The two chaps who have bought it are an English former soldier who is now a tree surgeon here in France, and his friend, a French chef; they are sharing the bits of barn to make various things including a tractor shed and a woodstore, and some of the beams will go into a house that the French chap is restoring, so the barn will live again! For my part, I'm just glad it's going because it was unsightly, but it was a stroke of genius when DH's brother suggested advertising it for sale because I didn't think anyone would be interested and that we'd have to demolish it ourselves. We had several responses to the ad. Anyway, I've taken some photo which I will try and put on Flickr.

Well, we are off to the barbecue at midday so I'm looking forward to that and the fact that I don't have to cook today!

I hope you are all having a great day.

May it always lifts my spirits to see you post, however rarely, as youve been much in my thoughts.
Thanks for all good wishes yesterday...had a lovely time...feet were killing by end of the day as walked miles! Bizarrly didnt buy any wool as such but did get ingredients for my wall hanging...Ive had it in my head for years - large tree on left then verse stitched on right so got lots of dyed non spun wool and a couple of bits of silk etc. The venue was large but not as much as I thought-not sure why! So much wool, wooly things that it was quite overwhelming! knowing my typical habit of falling in love with something that Ill probably never use I researched a spinning wheel on ebay before I left and knew that if I fell in love I could get one at a bargain price online!! (good strategy and worked!) Nearly got a weaving peg board that you can use for making rugs but my friend E is going to have a bash at making one! All in all a lovely day but I was so tired when I got back...thankfully planned a quiet day so am home for the day!
F1 so pleased that you will have some support. I known what you mean about not liking it but when I had my tabs etc last year it got me through...take all the help you can get to enable you to start living life as you want to again! Try think of it as a tool to recovery :)
Roaming well done you old hooker you!!
Chalky sounds as if youre a good teacher - knew you would be! love the pet beds...Isoke seems more enamoured with my patchwork fabric than any bed or blanket Ive made her though lol!
welcome gin, thank u for coming out to play!
lovecrafting took me a while to get the hang of it but much prefer it now so persevere if you can...I learned on utube!
