Oh Shaz I have just measured mine and 25 cms would be a perfect fit. Oh the wool sounds lovely. What a good friend you are!
As for pink baby wool -- I have been finding myself buying baby socks in the market here -- They are gorgeous but I definitely do not need them -- A bit more to tuck in those boxes!
My yoga teacher is coming for her next Crochet lesson in the morning. I have had to think so hard to make sure I am teaching her properly. I started posting the stitches on my blog so that she had something to refer to when she was working on her own. But my goodness I have had to rethink some of the things I have been doing, names of stitches etc!!
Anyway I have just spent a jolly hour blogging about Treble Stitch and now have to wait for the DOH to take the photos but he is out on his bike!

ISOM I am sewing up some very random squares that I have found for a Cats blanket -- I hope the moggies dont mind clashing colours. I am trying to clear the Craft Room and there was a bag of odd squares.
PSSO Never mind the cake I could eat little J!!
F1 -- I hope you are enjoying all this sunshine in or out!
Pippa -- We lived in Dorset for quite a few years after meeting in Weymouth so its a gorgeous place very dear to our hearts. DS was born there -- Have a lovely time.
    Jean -- Keep getting better
We are out this evening so must get a wiggle on but gentle thoughts and love to all xx
Try and do a good deed every day.

shaz - yes you are right the sun is lovely cheers me up no end - have been in the garden - DH has promised me new garden furniture this year and want some lovely big candles in pots (well thats what I think about) - the garden here is all slabs on two levels so the back level we want to take up slabs and lay grass - we started earlier in the week when DH off and want to continue when he is off next week - anyway have thought you sound brighter the last few days I do hope so I always worry about you - glad you rescued some wool - I think you are so clever knitting socks - me and double pins or circulars dont seem to mix - maybe have another go one day xxx

Actually on a positive note ive made some headway with some help to get me back out and about - after some chats with Dr (different one to the one last year who basically told me I was not ill or aged therefore could not have any help at home!) he has assigned me some help from the MH team and they start coming next week - key worker type person I think - I feel a bit guilty / embarressed actually having the help so had not mentioned it before - also I think to try and help with depression

Anyway I have one of my la la questions - sitting on the sofa knitting Ive been thinking what to make next and have been thinking for a long time I have quite a bit of wool that is darker colours and say only one 100g ball of it and I never know what to make with it - as you know Im making hats for homeless this year but all the patterns I have seem to call for chunky so what I do is two strands different colours - what does anyone else do with one odd 100g or 50g ball DK??? any ideas or just a chat about it would be fun

Am off to watch Eastenders (sad I know) Im waiting to see when Ronnie gives kat her baby back! i think it will be easter viewing personally

Love and hugs to all J xxxx

f1 widow- I do charity squares or cat blankets - if the latter then I use both ends together to make chunky, one from inside the ball and one from outside. And congrats on getting some help, I hope that it really makes a difference for you.
Have a fab time tomorrow ISOM, looking forward to hearing all about it
Well done on the exercise Shaz

f1 widow I tend to look at wool in animal colours, or baby colours etc., if there's only a small amount it doesn't matter, a teddy or a dog can have a different coloured muzzle or ears, baby things can have a different stripe or tie and so on. Certainly is useful to have a stash of all shades even if they're only half balls.

Thats great news that you are going to get some help. there is no need to be embarrased about needing help, it takes a strong person to admit there needs, you should be proud hun.

I combine black and white dk together when making chunky hats. it actually works out quite well to be honest. im sure it will work out fine for you.

did ronnie give the baby back yet, i literally walked in the door as whitney was stood at the police station at the end of the episode looking all beaten up, i havent seen it all week.

    Hi everyone

F1 - I'm so glad you are getting the help you need. It will make a real difference for you.

Shaz - I hope things are going well for you?

Elaine - did that handsome little grandson of yours have a good 1st birthday?

Jean - hope you are feeling a lot better now.

It seems ages since I last posted on here - time is in its usual short supply in these parts and I swear blind that the hours and minutes tick by faster in France than anywhere else! Yesterday was spent mainly shopping, then working online in the morning, and gardening in the afternoon, and then I spent some time looking for an amigurumi pattern for a pig because we've been invited to the pig farm tomorrow for a birthday barbecue for Pete the Pig (the farmer's own name for himself!). I wondered what to get for a present for him but I have bought a lovely piggie mug, and I wanted to make a piggie to go inside it. Anyway, I found a really good pattern for a tiny little pig - he just needs his face putting on then I will take a picture,

We're really looking forward to the barbecue because several other friends will be there, too. In fact yesterday made me realise just how many good friends we have made here. DH came shopping with me early yesterday morning and we bumped into one particular couple that we met last year, then late yesterday afternoon another couple popped in for a quick cuppa, then we had this invitation to the barbecue tomorrow - they are all good friends and definitely help to make me feel less homesick.

The weather has been just wonderful this week, today no exception. It was 28 degrees yesterday and is on course to be the same today. The people who are buying our old eyesore of a barn turned up bang on time this morning, and they are dismantling it really neatly. They are tree surgeons by trade so they have all the gear. The barn, which is huge, is made of oak and pine timbers covered with galavanised sheeting, and they want to take the lot. I thought they would make a heck of a racket taking it down so I warned the immediate neighbours but, so far, they done it in such an orderly way that there's hardly any noise. I nearly called a halt to it because I thought some chaffinches were nesting in it, but I had a good look and there's no sign of a nest. Anyway, once the barn is down, it's going to look very different outside!

Talking of birds, we've had loads of blue and great tits here all winter because I've kept them well-supplied with food in return for them providing me with great entertainment watching them. A week or so ago I found that an old sheepskin rug we've had for years had been attacked by next door's cat, and great clumps of wool had come away. I just shoved the clumps into a hedge and, this morning, I've noticed several of the blue tits taking bits of it away for their nests. Oh, and I rescued the cutest frog yesterday that had got stuck inside an empty plant container and just couldn't hop high enough to get out - I'm starting to feel like David Attenborough!

Anyway, enough of that - I have made a couple more snakes but I'm going to do something else for a change so I will look through all my patterns later on today to decide what to do next. I need to find something that's really quick to do and easy to pick up and put down because I get so many interruptions lately.

I'm really hoping that things calm down a bit soon and, also, that it won't be long before we have everything in place so that we can go home and visit the family and meet Megan for the first time. Even DH who doesn't get as homesick as me is starting to feel that it's been too long since we were last back there.

Well, it's getting close to lunch time so I'd better go and sort some food out. See you later.

hi all i have sneeked on before kitchen duties start MIL & FIL are coming and bringing oH 90 year old nan - she is an absolute treasure

seakay - what a great idea pulling both ends of ball and knitting that way xxx

kathy - lovely to hear what you are up to - i never tire reading your posts xxx

isom - how is mum doing at the moment? xxx

I knit two colours together for chunky hats so they end up looking flecked which is a great idea - the trouble with me is when someone has brought me odd balls in some unusual colours or flecks etc I always look at them - touch them - squish them - and then put them back in the stash thinking I will make something specific with them when really 100g is never enough to do one project (iykwim!)

Cast on baby blanket number 3 for the little ones that are due in May - i also have preemie blanket to sew up - sometimes I wish i knitted quicker, stopped talking about it and got on with it :rotfl: and before the year end i am going to try socks !

Kitchen is calling - trifle is made and in fridge - salad to cut up now

love to all - will pop back later xxx
