  • yes I have done them previously but I NEED THE PATTERN right slap in front of me all the time....I am hopeless at remembering what I should be doing with them, am certainly trying pams blankie in the first instance, I shall then see how I feel about granny squares? Maybe the fat crochet hooker will roll up early in the week and I can get stuck into the dog beds.

Oh I look forward to that one Chalky, WHAT ARE WE DOING UP AT THIS TIME OF NIGHT???? I think that we beautiful bonkers came from the same mold .......but that's fine by me. Also I should mention that although I am capable of doing the Grannie Squares, I really don't go a big bundle on the sewing up, or should that now be crocheting up?

EXTREME KNITTING.....Psso and me saw a lady doing that at the Perth knitting show last May and I was determined to come home and have DH make the broom handles into knitting needles.......I can't print his reply to that request I WOULD BE FLUNG OUT OF THE FORUM, what he did say was how was HE expected to sharpen the points on two broom handles.........WELL I ask you, any fool can do that, we have a sander for goodness sake. Needless to say its still on my list (you all know that one....goes on for half of the shorthand notebook and if I did scribble it down in shorthand I have probably made such a mess of it I won't be able to transcribe it by now!) It does have a little drawing alongside it so don't give up hope just yet BUT my passion presently has to be the crochet, its the thought of the lovely dog/cat beds that has spurred me on NO MAYTAURUS I can't blame you, I just need to think of the wee cold creatures, needing a bed to snuggle up into. The crochet hook arriving here SOON is a size 15 and a size 20 which is a bit big even by my big sausage hands standard!

You should be in your bed by now wee Jean- just because your DH is away with his pals doesn`t mean you can stay up late, naughty girl. I was just thinking about the woman with big needles today and wondering if `you know who` had sharpened the broom handles for you - I see he hasn`t.

Must be the spring air, I`m getting stuck into the summer garden squares (attic 24) - not sure about the colour combos, but the odds `n` ends are being used up smartish. Also done a bigger square which might do for a !!!!! or pup. in the same style. Now doing a version in double crochet -I think ?? not sure but it seems to be the same as on chalky`s blog. Well, animals ain`t fussy and if they can`t crochet, they won`t be any the wiser will they ???

Had a busy few days lately so will go off to beddy byes just now and be back tomorrow to catch up hopefully.

morning all, hope everyone is well, i've woken up with dreadful cold, not going to let it spoil my day tho, kids will do that lol
actually daniel is doing some work experiance at a garage, just hope he learns to listen a bit more, already had them phone me up asking where he is, he was supposed to start at 8, daniel told me 10,
on the knitting front, done half of the leg on the sox i'm currently doing for a friend, bit unsure now if they will be wide enough for her. i'm used to knitting man sized socks, as we all have big feet in our family. have emailed friend to measure width of her foot, if they turn out to be too narrow, then i will unpull and start again.
love the crochet squares,, very colourful

    Hi everyone

I've been trying to do the update but every time I call up the spreadsheet I get a 'server error - please reload your browser' message, so I've given up for now and will have another go later. AVG is scanning at the moment so that may be what's causing the problem.

Shaz - I hope your cold doesn't last too long.

Jean - please be sure to post a photo of the crochet hook when it arrives and, if they ever get sharpened, the knitting needles, too!

Well, yesterday's barbecue at the farm was lovely but there was so much food available. I managed to eat what I thought was a meal-sized plateful then along came the biggest trifle I've ever seen and it would have been rude not to try some. I asked for a small portion -well, it was enough to feed a family for a week! My DH finished it off; I can't believe how much food he polished off yesterday! Needless to say, along with the glass of something so strong it must have been neat alcohol, and a glass or two of wine, we came home and I fell asleep for two hours! We could only stay at the barbecue for around three hours because we had left the chaps demolishing the barn back at the house. They've made great progress with it and the rest will come down next Saturday. As for the old straw bales that were inside it, the Mairie has just called round and said he will see what can be done with it.

Our farmer friend loved the little piggie I made for him - if I'd had time I would have made a whole barnful! As it is, I had placed inside a big piggie mug so that just its nose poked out and it went down really well. It's made the farmer's wife think about taking up crochet again, so that can't be a bad thing, can it?

I didn't get any crochet done last night because, despite my two hour nap, I was so tired - drinking during the day has never agreed with me. I'll never become a proper French person at this rate! I'll try and get some done later on today (crochet not drinking!); I'm working on a new idea but I'm not sure how it will turn out yet!

Anyway, I hope you all have a great day.

I'll have another go at the update a bit later on.

Mrs Twins - some wonderful challenges there - we're spoilt for choice! I rather fancy the Tropical one so I shall sort through my wool stash for colours!
I can't believe how many squares you've put together; it really is amazing what you've achieved and it's so nice to know that the lucky ladies and gents who get the blankets are so interested in the different themes!

Anyway, I'm off to have another go at the spready!

Hope you are all having a good day.

Hello to one and all and lots of love too!
Hope the sunshine has lifted everyone's spirits a little and tales of Jean's Crochet antics will have undoubtedly lifted them a little more!!
Tutorial for a Granny Square on my blog!
Doh laughs out loud as I am trying to see if they work before posting them. I sit and pretend I can't crochet and see if they work --- Well that's the general idea anyway!

Yoga this morning -- All back and hips !! I am as supple as a brick in my hips so it was bloomim hard work!! I think my Yoga teacher is getting me back for my Crochet lessons!

I have been really busy this afternoon on a little quilting project. It is so sweet and I will share soon. I saw it on the internet and have had it bookmarked for ages.

Doh is going Snowboarding on Weds for a couple of days. I am not going this time and have a very large Crafting Appointment. I will live on Cheeses sandwiches and eat when I like -- or maybe just Graze!!! We also have visitors coming for the weekend so I want to get some preparation done!

Lovely pig Kathy! My dad loved pigs!
