What a lovely mothers day surprise to se you May, and a lovely thoughtful post as always!
Welcome love crafting; good to have you on board the good ship knitty! Feel free to chat whether youve made or not! My totals are abysmal but I still try to come on regularly to see "my girls".
Just had a lovely morniing in church; each woman in the congregation was given a rose whether a mother or not. Thus making those of us who are not mothers feel a bit special too! Mothers day does evoke a sadness in me that I dont have any but is also an opportunity to be thankful for my mum. Took her out for lunch and then had a look for apple tree before popping up to the allotment. Its coming on slowly!
big hugs for those that are struggling today, for whatever reason.

    Wellcome to the thread Lovecrafting!
Happy Mothering Sunday to all (I still love it even though my Mother is no longer alive.) I especially love that so many on this thread know that it is Mothering Sunday and not Mother's day!

Shez, hope that your parents are able to sleep and are getting over what must have been the most horrible series of shocks. Thank goodness you are nearby, it must make all the difference.

Lovely to hear from you Maytaurus!

Not had time to read back very far and have been a little out of touch over the last couple of weeks. But love to all and (((big hugs))) all around as well.

Just to make you smile---- DD2 is still in Byron Bay and this morning I awoke to a Mothering Sunday Message written in the sand-- What a lovely surprise Even better a while later she actually phoned and of course I cried and then I laughed because she said that other youngsters saw her writing her message so as she left and looked back at in the sand there was a line forming -- to rub out her name and add theirs so obviously other Mums were going to be happy too !
Try and do a good deed every day.

Good morning everyone. I meant to come back on here yesterday but the day filled up with visits and visitors! Sadly, not my own children because they're in the UK but I spoke to them on Skype which was lovely, and had some beautiful cards through the post, and we are all planning a meal out when we next visit the UK. We were invited by some friends for coffee yesterday morning, and had a wonderful time, and in the afternoon some other friends came round so, all in all, we had a very sociable relaxing day, ending with a lovely chat on the phone with my Mum.

It must have been a bittersweet day for those who have sadly lost their mums; I know how I feel when it's Father's Day, having lost my dad many years ago, and it must have been particularly poignant for you, Shezmit, so lots of hugs to you all.

Lovecrafting - a very warm welcome to you. I hope you enjoy it here with us!

ISOM - I have always thought that Mother's Day is for daughters, too; you may not have children of your own but you are such an important part of your mum's life which makes it your day as well as hers!

Despite having done very little to exert myself yesterday, apart from consuming lots of tea, coffee, and cakes, for some reason I was exhausted last night and could barely keep my eyes open so no woolly stuff was done. I must try and catch up with things today.

This morning I shall put the garden furniture back out - the weather has been lovely and this week is supposed to be good, too, with temperatures reaching 26 degrees by mid-week; mind you, I shall only believe it when I see it! I will also put our orange trees back out; they've been in the conservatory since mid October and now they are covered with blossom which smells wonderful. I'm so glad that the winter is behind us now - I have some lovely containers of pansies scattered around and some natural violas springing up all over the place where they've seeded themselves, so things are looking very cheerful these days.

Thank you all for your totals - I shall do the update later on this morning but, sadly, only have two more snakes to add to mine.

My totals: just 2 snakes for OP Christmas Child

I hope you all have a wonderful day.
