    Hi everyone

I'm sorry I haven't had time to do the update today but I will definitely do it tomorrow! I've tried very hard to do it on Mondays for the last few weeks but today I've been gardening because the weather has been so good, and I've run out of time.

Hope everyone has had a good day!

    Good morning everyone.

I have done the update with totals posted up to midnight on Sunday 3rd. Anything posted after then will go on next week's update. You can find the update by clicking into my name at the side of my post, then going to my 'homepage'. Please let me know if there are any mistakes and I will put them right! Fantastic totals, everyone, really impressive!

Jean - I hope you are a lot better today. When you are feeling up to it, I have added 'Baby Mitts' to the update but at the end of the list of items, so I'd be eternally grateful if you would alphabetise for me, please!

Shaz - your mum's needles must be red hot!

Pippa - thinking of you at this worrying time.

Mrs MW - thinking of you and hoping that life is not too challenging for you.

F1 - I know what you mean about DH having time off. I get so much more done when mine is out of the house! Yesterday, I was continually being interrupted to help empty the wheelbarrow, and then I had to go to the tip with him to get rid of loads of rubble and other rubbish. We've sold a huge
metal and timber barn that is a bit of an eyesore; the buyer is coming at the weekend to start dismantling it, which will take two weekends probably. At the moment it's full of stuff that the last owners left in there (and should have taken with them but we couldn't track them down once we'd bought the house!), including several bales of very old straw. We want to set fire to the straw once the barn has gone but we shall have to ask the local mayor for his permission because it's now no-bonfires season! The other rubbish we can take to the dump and I think that will mean several trips, so my time will just get used up for the rest of the week. We also store our neighbours' caravan in the barn so that will need to be moved to a stone barn at the other side of the house until the weekend in July when the neighbours get married, then it's going to be extra accommodation for some of the wedding guests! What with chores and cooking, and my own online work, I wonder how I ever found the time to go out to work!

Chalky - not packed yet but a step closer to getting the health side of things finalised, so it shouldn't be too long now. We see the new baby on Skype every couple of days but I'm longing to give her a proper cuddle! She is gorgeous, of course! As my mum says, 'gorgeous is the only type we do!' We're not biased, are we?!

Well, we have lovely weather forecast for the whole week (apparently!), so we've put our garden furniture outside again - I love that time of year when the garden becomes an extra room and the barbecue reigns supreme!

Well, I hope you all have a good day.

morning all, kathy send us some sun please, here in yorkshire it is very dull and looks like rain again
thanks everyone for their thought and wishes for my mum and dad, the council sent a lovely man out yesterday, who fitted extra locks to all their windows, and changed the locks on the front and back doors, to extra security ones, they have a longer barrel? that goes further into the door frame, and also they have fitted internal bolts too. i still say they should have replaced the doors with newer stronger ones, but council said no, they've had the same external doors since they moved there over 35 years ago, in fact they've never beeen changed since the bungalow was built around 1940's, the whole road has the same, except the odd few which have been bought privatly,
no charity knitting done yesterday, but i will try and fit some in today if i can, i dont work, so i dont know where my time goes
    hugs all
    love shaz xxx
loves to knit and crochet for others
  • I am alive.........not under the patio..........still coughing and spluttering but the headache (thumper) has left, I also have managed a good nights sleep which helps enormously. DH has now caught it and he is about 3 days behind me, so he too is just getting over the worse of it....well that's what I am telling him. I can do without this again in a long while. Neither of us have had anything like it previously, so fingers crossed we never get it again. I am in the sweatshop today, keeping snug and doing activity books which is a lovely way to spend time, will spoil myself with lots of breaks and cuppa's as and when I feel like it, then perhaps tomorrow I will get started properly....the polytunnel is in dire need of digging (YUK) so I am hanging off on that one till next week.
I hope your all going to have a great day, Oh Kathy........could you not offer the hay to local sanctury .....cats, donkeys whatever as bedding....or a free to pick up on AI? Even if its old it still has some use as bedding. Right will catch up with the postings some time this evening, welcome to all newbies and love and cuddles to you all.

    Good morning

Had a think about the clowns and came up with this, 2 circles stitched together to make a head.

P.S. Anyone got any ideas for using a bag of polystyrene eggs :)

Shaz - I'm so relieved that your parents have now got proper security on the doors. That should make them feel safer even though it won't get back the things they've lost. I would love to send you some of this lovely warm sunshine!

Jean - glad you're starting to feel better. As for the straw, old hay and straw develop dangerous spores over time. DH didn't know that and was planning to heave it into his van to dispose of at the dechetterie; luckily, I warned him first! I wish we could give it away but it's been there since we bought the house in 2005, and heaven only knows how long it was there before! It would cause all sorts of health problems to animals and humans alike. Burning would be the best thing for it but, of course, we can't have bonfires now (or that's what I thought, but one of our neighbours had one on Saturday!). I'll ask the Mairie for his advice - maybe he will give us permission to burn it. If not, we'll have to cover it where it is and the barn will have to be dismantled around it, then we can burn it in the autumn. All this is down to the previous owners who left tons of c**p behind!

Anakat - the clown is gorgeous; well done on the perfect solution! Can't help with the polystyrene eggs unless you just crochet little covers for them and hang them on some twigs as an Easter tree! Children love that!

Well, off to do something useful like clean the bathroom!
