    Hi everyone

Mrs MW - it's so good to hear from you. Please, please, please don't think you have anything to apologise for. This must be such a difficult time for you and you have all our thoughts and prayers. I wish you well when the radiotherapy starts. Lots of hugs to you and your family.

Shaz - how awful for your parents. What a horrible thing to happen. It's the sentimental things that affect you the worse; when it happened to my mum, lots of things were taken but the saddest of all was that the sympathy cards she received when my dad died, which she had kept in an old handbag, were taken, too. The police found the bag in a rubbish bin in the street, but the cards were never seen again. If and when they ever catch anyone, and they didn't in my mum's case, they should be locked up for a very long time. Nothing can make up for the distress, shock and fear that is caused. Please give your mum and dad a big hug from me.

ISOM - I love the patchwork.

Jean - how are you feeling today? Better, I hope, and I also hope that you are taking it easy and not trying to get too much done.

Well, we've had some miserable weather this week but tomorrow promises to be warm and sunny, so we shall see.

The painting is in full swing but should be coming to an end soon, hopefully. The fumes from the paint have been bothering me - lots of things like that bother me these days! - but DH has been complaining of feeling like he has the 'flu and I'm sure it's the paint. I made him not do any today and he's been potting up plants instead and, miraculously, he feels better! He will have to wear a mask for the rest of the painting, like I've had to - a nuisance but worth it.

Well, two more snakes have slithered off my hook but that's about it so far this week. DH is working tomorrow so I shall race through my chores and treat myself to a couple of hours crocheting while he's out. I can't do much when he's around because he always needs a labourer!

Well, I'm off to put the kettle on.

woolfest sounds interesting seakay and isom, have fun
kathy, i'm the same with paint fumes, they make me feel really ill too, a good excuse to get somebody else to do it lol.
the community policeman has been to see my mum and dad today, they have contacted a charity that gets funding from the police, to help in cases of burglary, they've suggested putting bolts on door, which arnt much use, when you go out, so i rang them back on parents behalf, and asked for a new back door, one that is solidand has locking mechanisms in a few places, instead of one which the flimsy back door has now. they said someone will mum and dad back tommorrow or monday to arrrange a visit and see what they can do.
feel quite helpless, as ithere is not much more i can do to help them
got issues 2 and 3 of the art of knitting today, havent even opened them yet, think i'll make a milky coffee and have a look
    hugs all

morning all, just had a phone call from my mum, they have been the target of thieves yet again, this time the garden shed, so not as bad as the house, nothing sentimental, just lawn mowert and tools, could have been same person or someone completely different, the police are going out again to take fingerprints.
on the knitting front, i'm planning on finishing some baby things that i didnt get round to yesterday,
hope everyone has a good day

Oh, Shaz, that's just terrible; they must be feeling really victimised, poor things. I do hope they catch those responsible and deal with them they way they should be dealt with.

Well, DH is working all day so I cleaned the house from top to bottom, then was just about to sit down for a browse on here and we had a powercut - just a one minute one, but it's taken ages to get my internet connection back on so I'm a bit wound up. It's always the same; I never had this problem in the UK. Still, at least I DID get back online.

The weather today is simply gorgeous - like an English summer's day, so I hope it's good for all of you, too.

I am hoping I can get some sit-down time this afternoon but I have some online work to do so I suppose I'd better do that first!

    Have a great day!
