Afternoon all, hope you had a nice relaxing weekend.

Pippa - taking the vac out helps you relax  ? Can you explain how that works please ? Could that be where I`m going wrong, mine only gets dragged out now and again...............

    MiL`s hats are lovely Chalky.

Oooh it`s like waiting for Christmas coming just now.
Someone put a link up on LH for a button seller who is selling off his stock and I ordered 17 packs of buttons, about 400 I think. Only cost £17.04 + 2.60 postage Bargain I thought, considering I`d just bought 2 strips with 8 on each for 99p each. Could take me a lifetime to use them up though.

And Lou has had LH badges made as well so waiting for it to appear too :T Doesn`t take much to please me.

Started knitting a cardigan for myself on Saturday while babysitting but having a bit of bother with the thumb joint on my left hand aching again. Old age, I know. It`s really annoying so I`ve come to the conclusion I`ll just have to do half a dozen rows at a time on the cardi now and again and do little things in between. That way maybe the cardigan will be finished for next winter.:(

    Have a good day everyone.

Pippa - I can add your items to the update today if you want; it's no trouble thanks to Jean's lovely spreadsheet, so please feel free to post them!

Elaine - I do mainly crochet these days because of pain in my left thumb (tendonitis and trigger thumb but, really, all brought on by old age). Much as I love knitting, I just find it very painful so only ever do really small things. I can get the thumb treated but will wait until we've finished all the work on the house!

Hello to one and all -- Gentle thoughts to you all-
Purple Teddy Bear Hope your little ones are well.

Well DMIL loves the internet but has not got a computer. So I knew she would love to see her hats on here--- I have read all your lovely comments to her and she is tickled pink! She has gone for a lie down at the moment and is getting really sad as she returns home tomorrow. DOH will take her to Alicante and DD1 will pick her up from Exeter. Thank goodness the clock has gone forward so the evenings will be lighter for longer for her.

Kathy Please don't worry about adding them to totals they can just be an added bonus between Shelley Lisa's Stars and Lou. I am hoping she might keep it up at home as it gives her a feeling of achievement. I went on to Google images to find premature babies wearing similar hats and she could not believe it!

I myself am enjoying being in a snake pit!!! Doh has made me make him 2 for his suitcases to make them easily recognisable. I can gaurantee no-one else will have 1!!!!!

PSSO I CAN NOT RESIST BUTTONS!!!!
Try and do a good deed every day.

    Hello one and all

Had a busy weekend in the garden, clearing out and washing the greenhouse. Also a great concert on Saturday evening by my local Slough Philharmonic Orchestra (I'm in their choir). So not too much time for crafting, but I was pleased to get the sleeves of my cardy finished. Didn't quite manage to match the wool both sides, but almost (its a varigated Noro yarn, lovely colours and I've been trying to get the colour stripes to match on both sides as far as possible - more details on my blog, if you can be bothered!) Today I have joined the shoulder seams using a 3 needle method, which I'd never used before but gives a very neat result. Basically you cast off both front and back shoulders together - gives a very neat finish. Now its just the collar to do, sew up and its finished. Then I'll be able to get back to some serious puppet making!

Chalky, your MIL's hats are great - what a speedy knitter!

Chalky - I've just had the loveliest letter from Aunt Dorothy, beautifully written in a lovely little note card! I didn't expect it so it made a lovely surprise in the post, and took the sting out of the not-so-lovely phone bill that arrived at the same time! Great idea for the snakes - I always tie crocheted flowers to our cases but a snake would be a bit more macho for a man! I hope your DMIL has a safe trip back.

Well, I'd better go and start the dinner and try not to think about how much more I could get done in the day if we didn't have to stop for food!

    Hi everyone,

Well, I got some needles and yarn on Saturday and now have a collection of random squares littering the coffee table, various colours and a variety of not so good through to better stitches!! Oh, and a slightly sore index finger from guiding the needle - must work on my callous!

I now have my first project in my head, although it's going to need to be a simple one. A friend of mine is pregnant and I want to make her a baby blanket. She's due in September so have got plenty of time to practice practice practice!

    Hope everyone's well :D
