  • Hi Folks, well all the mosters are tucked up in bed and I am trying to just quickly catch up with posts and emails etc. Made a lemon sponge cake for their gouter (afternoon tea) also made the lemon curd to go in it.....so all boys well impressed with the skills so far........they have asked for pizza tomorrow night, so I will get onto that one soon as I drop them all off in the morning at their respective schools and college. Thoroughly enjoying the change of venue, no dogs opening the doors and letting in drafts, its nearly perfect.
ISOM I caught up with the sewing forum today and saw your lovely quilt - you should be really proud of that, gorgeous
F1 - got your email, back of neck for me too...how wierd eh.
Kathy, I really do hope you have some sort of health cover in place even if its only a letter from them that you show to all and sundray.........fingers are crossed for your DBIL too.
PSSO...did you ever make it to the patterns?
I will try and get some time to myself tomorrow and sit with a cuppa and my feet up...................in your dreams girlie! I have brought some knitting with me but as yet haven't even opened the bag.........I should get the sack. I am off to bed shortly, the sun comes up first at the front of the house and I noticed the windows in the two bedromms at the front are filthy....so I will tackle them bright and early, now if I was back up at the farm no one ever notices the muck or the dog slob on my windows......you could make a fortune in France as a window cleaner, if anyone every employed you! Loving you all and leaving you till I can call back in again, huge cuddles to you all.

    Morning all
Been MIA again, we've had so much going on since we got back have'nt had a spare moment...well thats not quite true every time I sat down I fell asleep :o

Jean - I went into the L/H patterns and WOW impressed or what !!!it must have taken ages to gather them all together, well done to you and all involved :T

chalky - We went to Benidorm always do end of Feb beginning of March when its not too crowded, we found a lovely hotel 4 years ago and keep going back there, its next door to the hotel Johnny Vegas and some of the cast stayed in whist they were filming.
Weather was'nt brilliant but we had 7 hot and sunny days and just 2 days of rain out of 14 still way better than here.
Does'nt stop us getting out and about whatever the weather and we make good use of the buses.
Love the Puppets chunky and skinny,I'm sure I have a pattern somewhere for knitted one's must have a look. Yes Washing all done :T just the dreaded ironing to do now
We made a dash down to Devon yesterday to check out a new pitch for our Caravan, its a tourer but we have it on a seasonal pitch and stored there for the winter.
The Pitch we had last year was sooo windy, lovely views, but we had to take the awning down after only a couple of days. This one is more sheltered so should be better.
Managed to get a scarf knitted on the way down as well :)

Welcome to you 4nnabella you will love it here we are a very friendly bunch anything you want to know just ask :D

Hope everyone is OK and enjoying this beautiful weather.

must go need to give the garden some TLC its looking so neglected
(anything to get out of the ironing);)

    Hi everyone

4nnabella - a warm welcome to you. I'm so glad you've joined us and hope you like it here!

Pippa - welcome back. Hope you had a brilliant time!

Elaine - putting the wool opposite the carrot stall is just a little bit too much temptation, isn't it?

Jean - I hope the monsters allow you to put your feet up now and again!

F1 - have a lovely weekend with your friend. The emotion never goes, no matter how old the children are! It's just part of being a mum!

Shaz - hope that life is better for you these days. Glad you rescued that wool!

Chalky - skinny ones or cuddly ones, the teds are all beautiful and, like your hedgies, each has its own personality. Have you named them yet?!

Well, our paperwork trail the other day has actually taken us one step closer to getting the health cover sorted out. I shall be so glad when it's all finalised - we are having to take extra care to avoid accidents! I tripped up a stair the other day and my first thought was 'I hope I won't need medical treatment right now!'.

Anyway, not much woolly stuff going on at the moment, apart from some snakes and a friendship bracelet in the prototype stage. I'm also making a robot for DGS as a present to take home when we eventually get back to the UK, and it will be followed by a panda for DGD1.

I did a lot of paperwork and filing yesterday which was utterly boring but the feeling of achievement I had when it was finished was well worth the effort. DH is home today and he's pottering in the garden, and we have good friends coming round this afternoon, so, along with the perfect weather, life's not so bad!

Well, I'm off to knock down the bread dough, then I shall put it to rise again. Now that the weather has warmed up, it's rising really quickly!

Hope you all have a great day.

4nnabella - http://www.learn2knit.co.uk/knitting.php this is a UK site so the terms used will be more familiar - unless you are American of course :)
Don`t be afraid to shout if you get stuck with anything, there will usually be someone along fairly soon who might be able to steer you in the right direction, we all had to learn and as in your case re-learn. Enjoy.

Thanks so much for the warm welcome everyone! :D

Thanks so much for this link, had a quick look and it looks like a fab website! I also want to learn crochet too, so I think I will get lots of info and tips from that site!

Am off to get some needles and other bits tomorrow, so will probably spend half the weekend getting the hang of it all again! I want to try and make a patchwork blanket, making lots of different squares using different stitches etc, as I figure that will give me lots of practice at the stitches whilst being quite productive as I only have to make relatively small squares! I'm also thinking ahead to Christmas and quite fancy making scarves, cushion covers etc for presents!

I will let you all know how I get on!

Chalky v envious of the tapas lunch! yum!
No wooly stuff but quilt is coming on but feels v slow. Stopped for a snooze as started to get sloppy so always a sure sign that a break is in order! Determined to finish it this weekend! Had a fab text from best mate who asked if I minded very much picking G up from school in July and flying over with her and staying for a week...they would pay flight! Thought of it for all of a nano second, rang work and off I go for a week of free sun on 8th July. Am a tad excited as havent had a do nothing but pool holiday for a while - apparently its so hot all you can do is pool and sleep!
F1 am off work till tues and have nice w/end planned; craft group tom am then more quilting; church and people for lunch sun and then meeting friend for lunch on Mon. Will have to have a tidy also as flat is a tip! Sounds like you have a lovely wend planned too-nothing like old friends is there! Thankfully we chuccled over the microwave incident!
miol thinking of your family with chemo going on and with you being tied up with red tape...hope thats sorted soon but just think how much more wonderful the cuddles will be!
lovely to see you roaming. What are you making at the mo?
psso... see sleep is good for you...of for a snoozle in a mo in readyness for the arduous task of making supper (fish with rice and salad!) and more quilting!
    Right girls off to sleep!
