Hi everyone
Just found some time to sit down here with a coffee. It's been a bit hectic here not helped much by the lovely red wine we were drinking last night. Our visitors brought it with them from southern France and, while I'm not really a red wine person, it was lovely, and no hangover either!
Jean - that gown is beautiful, and the little cardi. Hope your shoulder is better now?
Shaz - I really hope you can get at least 15 hours of respite; it's the least you should have. Your pampering day sounds wonderful and will do you the world of good.
Pippa - it's freezing cold here, today, too. It's very windy which is unusual, and that is making it even colder!
ISOM - yes, I am relaxed now! It was just the build up to them coming, especially as DH was fitting a new floor in the bedroom and only finished it about three hours before they were due! I do wish he would time things a bit better!
I'm not sure if I'll get any woolly time this week. I shall try anyway.
We are having some friends round for drinks and nibbles on Saturday night so I have to get organised for that - I think there will be about eighteen of us including six children, and a mixture of Brits, French and Australians, so it should be an interesting evening.
Anyway, the kettle needs to go on again; the poor thing is working overtime at the moment!

Hi everyone.
Roamin in the gloaming- I love the dress- please is there a pattern I can use?
I'm having a bit of trouble finding tiny buttons- does anybody have an online supplier they use?
Thanks a lot

Wow I have managed to get up to speed with reading back through the thread. Lots of lovely posts and interesting things going on.
KrazyKay -- It is worth asking in your local Charity Shops -- many have a button box and there are often tiny ones there. One of our local ones charges 1p each for the little ones. Also worth cutting the buttons off old shirts before popping them in the rag bag as they are usually tiny,
I have started a little blanket this evening in the hope it keeps me from nodding off -- The time difference catches up with me in the evenings.

Hi everyone
Jean - hope the monsters behave themselves for you!
Shaz - how are things with you?
KrazyKay -that's good advice from Chalky. The charity shops are great places for buttons, wool, patterns, knitting needles (kept behind the counter, usually, because they are now classed as 'dangerous' weapons!), and so on. I really miss the charity shops - there's nothing like them over here. It's even worth checking out the reduced clothes in there for things; I've bought lots of really awful shirts and blouses that have been reduced to around 50p, just for the buttons. Having said that, the haberdasheries here sell lovely buttons.
Chalky - hope you're feeling less time-lagged now!
Well, DH and his brother are now putting lighting in the conservatory - it will be our 'smoking' room on Saturday evening when we have our party. We can open the big window in there and they can puff to their hearts' content! Then they have a bit more work to do to the central heating, using British pipe fittings rather than the French ones that don't work!
I've not had much chance to get some woolly stuff done but I've started another Mrs Twins square and will try and get that finished later.
Well, off to fill some water containers before the water gets turned off!
Hope you all have a lovely day. It's cold but bright and sunny here today, so I hope it's the same where you are!

Hello to one and all-- Bit better night sleep last night cuddled up under a ripple blanket and hot water bottle!!
I did start a little crochet blanket last night but could not keep my eyes open -- so will carry on with that today.
I have to pop into town later and look for a house warming present for DS and DDIL'S new house. Going up to Bideford to see them for the weekend so it will be lovely to catch up.
It is lovely and bright today but a thick frost here.
Kathy-- Party sounds great. Vino Calapso in the smoking room too?
Jean Have a lovely day monster training!
PSSO -- Is little "J" mobile yet?

Hi Shaz
I'm so glad you had a good night with the boys. I'm sure the meeting will go well, especially now that you have Gillian to support you.
If you like, I can print off the pattern for the christening gown and post it to you if you pm me your address? It may take about a week to get to you from France, though. Let me know.
Good luck with the meeting.
