  • Mrs Moneypenny......wonderful news, why oh why do we fret, worry, give ourselves lines and wrinkles, not sleep, not eat - eat loads etc and then to be told...OK its nothing? I promise myself often NOT to go down that road, do I ever listen to my own advice - YOU KNOW THE ANSWER - NOPE.
Mioliere - don't knock your pan out - its family not an Official State Visit! Do enjoy the company tho' and have a great time.
PippaS - questions from a numpty - christening gown (Barbie frock is what I called it in my head) is finished, does it get some ties on the back...little crochet ones, ribbon???
Chalky - lovely to have you back again, but can you not mention the washing, ironing WORK etc....looking forwrad to reading all about it, have missed your blog a bit over the last month or so.
Shaz - take ANY and ALL hours you are offered for respite.....you need them, whether you do one on one or calm all by yourself, recharges the batteries.
Salome - caravan sounds lovely, we went through the tent, touring caravan, etc before the camper saga. My own preference is tent - but I am alone on that one. Might come around to camper when its all plated up and I have taken myself and the dogs away in it a couple of times leaving DH at home!
Dpixie - YES I AM GREEN...can you see me......no snow here, no ski-ing either for that matter! I am so pleased you enjoyed yourself tho'
Being yelled at that lunch is now ready, so will leave you all with big cuddles and loads of love.

my kids would love us to have a camper van, but i wouldnt fancy been with them in it lol. prefer the 3 bedroom statics, which we often holiday in, wish i could afford to buy one and go away when ever we fancy.
seeing my friend gillian this afternoon, as a disability advisor, she thinks 4 hours is too little, and wants to fight for more, so we'll have a chat and prepare ourselves for the social services meeting on thurs.
today i'm knitting a boob, then i'm going back to the burial buntings, having a lazy day between knitting and being on comp, just cant get motivated, think my body is telling me it needs the rest after all the stress of this last week.
sun is shining here, it dare come out of hiding now kids back at school lol.
    hugs all

    mrs-moneypenny PHEW! What good news.

roamin' just you the dogs and the open road, sounds idyllic.

Shaz hope you get a few more hours allowed, and as mioliere said, is it in school holidays as well (cos that's when you most need it)?

the hours allowed once given to us, will cover all weeks including school holidays. my friend, is going to request a minimum of 15 hours a week, so the boys can have an overnight somewhere, and i will at least get one decent nights sleep a week. she is printing off parts of the disability discrimination act, and the childrens act, to provide evidence of needs to the social worker and her manager on thurs.

have just booked a relaxation package at alexandra house, huddersfield, next tues, for me and my friend, as a treat. it includes an indian head massage, aromatherapy facial, foot soak, parrafin wax hand treatment, cakes, and drinks.
it was recommended to me by another friend, and after i'dgoogled it, couldnt resist booking it:)
knitted a boob today, off to do burial gown or two this evening,
    hugs al

Well I have been to Asda--- Australia was very expensive -- but actually doing the shopping today really made me realise we are home. Still we are still talking about it all non stop so will keep it fresh for a while yet.

So to cheer me up I have just read from New Years Eve to page 113 -- lovely to catch up with you all but sorry to "hear" that lots of people have had a lot to deal with. I will read on tomorrow to try and catch up with you all.

    Have lovely evenings everybody x

chalky - welcome back :jwe have really missed you
jean - looks really good does'nt take long does it? and the pattern is so effective, I might adapt it for a baby jumper or cardi. I've just been into preemies to check re the ties and they dont ask for them except on the hat.
mrs-m - what a relief for you so glad you've heard something :)
shaz - I hope you do get the 15 hours you could do with it

Hope to finish the Baby Ripple tonight, my friend Jan has asked if she could have it for on the cot so I need to make it a bit bigger. Her daughter and baby grandson are coming over soon from Australia, and needless to say Jan can't wait to see him.

Off to get my feet up been out and about all day and feel a bit tired

miol hope that you are now able to relax and enjoy the visitors...remember they are here to see you and prob dont give a stuff about the state of the house :)
socky one piece of advice/suggestion for tomorrow would be do a list before you go to the meeting (so you get down while youre calm what you want to say) of why you need respite and make sure you include the toll its been on your own physical and mental health of late...fingers crossed for you - keep us posted :)
roaming well done on the wraps...so sad though and I have to be feeling pretty much top form to do them; I know there is a need but on top of worky issues which can be heartbreaking at times I just want to do brainless cat blankets at the mo!!
Having a relax this eve - g&t for the first time in months and just going to watch tv proper...without doing something at the same time...or will try to lol!! Also just realised that I have Friday off so am going to spend the whole day in my pj's and will get a move on with my quilt!

The reason why we don't use ties on the back of the gowns as it has to be easy access and easy to put on as alot of the babies are born to soon are very sticky and we have been told the just like to slip them on instead of turning the babies over to tie the backs up or to button the backs up, This is what we have been told from various of hospitals that has used the gowns

i hope this helps you x

Good morning everybody-- Hot water bottle is tucked on lap!! Actually made just before seven this morning but DOH has been up since 4.00 am! Serves us right for gadding about!!

Read a few more pages of missed news on here last night but kept nodding off - Cos I was tired not cos you are boring!:rotfl::rotfl:

Mrs M -- So glad the news was good-- What a worry. I pretend I am really calm at such times but underneath I really feel scared! Oh! I hate hospitals. So really glad your worries have been allowed to rest. Now you can look at the spring flowers with happiness

Kathy How hard you have both worked on your beautiful house. It sounds as if you have made so much progress since our visit. Bet you cant wait for news of your new grandchild. We have a new neice or nephew due any day so will love that.

Jean Those dresses are amazing -- How lucky will those little grls be! Did you ever get a new van.

Too many to name but I was sad to read so many are still having a tough time-- Soon the clocks will alter and hopefully that will help.

Well I am still sorting but want to make a start on a couple of little blankets for Lisa's Stars --- Easy and so worthwhile.

Isn't Mrs Twins amazing -- What a tribute. We have come home to find DMIL not so well so we are taking her back out to Spain with us for some sunshine and spoiling!

Right must get on but special love to you all and a special welcome to our new friends. I am looking forward to getting to know you properly
