Hi all, hopefully I`ll get this post done before my internet connection goes down again. It`s been happening a lot the past few days, start doing something and off it goes, got fed up of it and switched it off for a while - although I was very tempted to chuck the whole caboodle out of the window, like that advert that used to be on the telly.

Kathy, got your pm and have replied. Thanks. Good news about your car too.

Chalky - glad to see you got home safely. Hope you`re recovering from the loooooooong journey.

ISOM - shame the lion was a bit unmanageable but well done Kinsey for coming to the rescue.

Had to take DS in to hear his pre - op talk today (could have told him what they would say as heard it all last year with Jim). Seems he will probably have it in August sometime but no date given yet.
Had his MRI scan last week so the surgeon can see what he`s going to be dealing with. He seems to think it`s probably straightforward but he wanted to be sure.
The talk is given by the cardiac rehab Sister so it was a bit difficult, seeing as this was the day of Jim`s op last year and the cardac rehab girls knew him very well. She reminded the other one that she had been on holiday in Canada and that she`d had a text from them to tell her they`d `lost` him. :(
On a positive note, DS is younger, healthier and fitter than Jim was, and he (DS) would say better looking too!!!!

Off to boil the kettle and sit down with a cuppa and the needles. Have a dinosaur to stitch up and stuff but that can wait until I`m in the right mood ;) doing a sands type blanket but in white / speckly wool.

Have a good evening. Hugs to any who need them and  to lurkers and MIA`s.

    Hi everyone
Well I banned myself from the computer today as I seriously had to get on --- with -- sorting, ironing, cleaning, shopping and other unmentionable things!!!!
I did have the squares for Operation Stitch Up Part 2 laid out and kept on adding a few sneaky stitches.
FirstleyI must post this lovely picture
    SunshineBusSummer2010.jpg?t=1278107220

    What a lovely time!
Before we left Spain we had a discussion -- It went like this
Andy --"We should take the quilt!"
Me - " Oh no we shall be far too hot in the van!"
Well at such times charity does begin at home because I was wrong at times we could have done with the quilt.
Well how handy that travelling home this year were all the Lappys that I had made in the winter and the ones hooked over the miles so a bit of cosiness testing was undertaken on our journey and the verdict was that they were very cosy!

Well DD1 has organised a surprise birthdat party for her OH at ours!!! on Sunday -- actually of course we are delighted . It is lovely to share lovely family times when we come home but tomorrow I must get something bright and cheerful in the flowery range for the garden. It is looking so bare!!
And of course I must contribute-- So apron will be on in the morning!!
Oh, and we have an evening reception tomorrow night in Somerset!
So I am going to ban myself from the computer again tomorrow

So I still have not yet had time to read back through the thread but promise normal service will return ASAP
Have lovely weekends one and all and gentle thoughts to all those feeling its all a bit much right now
Try and do a good deed every day.

    Hi everyone!

Chalky and Mioliere - I just love the photos!

Kinsey - You are most welcome. I got my Husband to make me a chart of 25 squares. I try and fill the names in as I go. I also keep a record of the squares on Flickr as they come in. A lot of 'admin' work, but great fun! I'll try and let you know when the others are in too. I do like everyone to see.

In Search of Me - Yes thank you I did know about the magazine. Inside Crochet. It's a great magazine ideal for Beginners and more advanced. I have had enquiries from it.

Kathy - Yes that was your Square! Looked good!

    Thanks everyone!
    Have a good weekend.
    Hugs Suex

ISOM parcel just came (quick!), pattern looks compicated but do-able. Do you need it by a certain date? Also do you want the wire put in to make it posable or is it for a small child?

Hi everyone - I didn't get on here yesterday because I felt a bit unwell. We'd been to a barbecue the night before but I'm not saying if that was the cause! DH was OK and I'm sure we both ate the same stuff! I also tripped over a branch from a pile that had been cut down but not cleared away and, as the barbecue was held with no lighting, by the time it got dark no-one could see anything. DH said I'd have tripped over the branch in broad daylight, so it's probably me being clumsy. As it is, I have some lovely grazes on my shins! What was nice was it meant that we could take my newly-MOT'd car out for a proper spin at last.

Anyway, DH has almost finished his stint working on the outside of the house - he's painting the walls now and it's starting to look a lot better. I shall take a new photo for my b**g later.

The weather is lovely here - I was up quite early and enjoyed a cuppa outside watching the cows grazing peacefully in the field next to the garden, and listening to all the birds. Quite a magical moment and a great way to start the day!

I've finished one of a pair of crochet sandals that I'm making for DGD2, done a few more rows of the back for my cushion, and sorted out some more wool for squares and hats. I finally managed to get another tin of the paint I'm using to spray my old chair so I'll have to try and get that finished over the next couple of days.

We're putting finishing the kitchen off for now because we want to get the main bedroom finished for when DS1 and family come out at the end of the month. The time is racing away; I think it's only just dawned us that they will be here soon! We want to get a petanque court marked up in the garden and fix up a basketball net, so there's plenty to do! Hopefully, we'll have time to work on the kitchen again before they arrive, but sleeping space for an extra four people is priority for now!

Anyway, this morning I am going to finish sorting out my clothes and this afternoon I will try and update my b**g.

Maytaurus - I hope you are doing well. We all miss you.

Elaine - hope things are going well for you.

Chalky - hope you managed to get all your chores done and well done to the Sunshine Bus for passing its MOT. The roads of Europe would not be the same without it!

(((Hugs))) to everyone. Hope you all have a great day.

Morning all, it`s a bit chilly, showery and windy here today, definitely won`t be in the garden unless it improves.

Got another bit cleared yesterday though. There`s a corner plot just outside the back door which was supposed to be a scented garden and the idea was to have our seats nearby to sit and enjoy the different fragrances. Buttercups and the other weeds don`t seem to have much smell though :rotfl:. Hauled most of them out now along with the dead lavender plants which the frost killed off but the rest will have to wait. Left with a `framework` of Philadelphus, and a honeysuckle growing over the trellis and a rose and another honeysuckle trained along the fence between us and next door, all just coming into flower now. Hmm, think I`m on the wrong thread here, should be on the gardening bit.

Knitting wise I`m on the decreasing side of my sands type blankie but I won`t have enough wool to do the edging so I`ll have to look for something else to do it in, either plain white or pick out one of the speckle colours as a contrast, not sure which idea would be best - any thoughts?

Have to pack up the squares for Chalky and get them off otherwise she`ll be on her way back to Spain before I do.
Where does the time go, I seem to be running round in circles sometimes and getting nothing done, just like a hamster on a wheel.

Ah well, enjoy your Sunday folks. Off to have my elevenses and a couple of rows of knitting then it`s nose to the grindstone again. Can`t decide if I`ll blitz my bedroom or the greenhouse.....decisions decisions.

    See you later.
