Hello everyone :hello:
Got back on Saturday afternoon, have'nt really stopped since.
DS1,DIL and DGDs arrived at 6pm so it was a rush around getting the caravan stuff put away and putting the washing on.
OH thinks I'm mad but as I said "it's a woman thing"....
The awning went up a treat so that was a relief, being complete novice's we were a bit nervous of it but a man in the caravan at the back gave him a hand and I sat in the van with his wife.....and guess what she LOVES knitting squares :jso maybe a new recruit on the way. I have her e'mail so will contact her and take it from there
Had a lovely day on Sunday DS2,DIL and DGS came over and joined us all for lunch, I just love it when we are all together. The girl's do to as they live in West Sussex so don't get to see DGS very often, they played with bubble wands in the garden and had a lovely time.
Mum's Doctor called in to see her while I was away and told her the biopsy's they took when she had the endioscope are causing concern and they want to do another one, don't know when though, got to wait for an appointment.
Poor Mum she still can't eat much just Porridge, Complan and thin Soup.
Did a few crochet squares while I was down in Devon and worked on my sisters ripple blanket, and did most of a scarf with the red fluffy yarn that Lou sent me a while back.
Havent read back yet so hope you are all well and happy and the poorlys are improving.
Back later
Anne

Afternoon all, hope the sun is shining on you.
Chalky I do hope your bruise is a bit better, perhaps we should all come and rub it better for you;)
pol yo yo's are so easy to do, do have a go. Look on youtube.
mioliere the bookclub sounds interesting, but the snake? OMG
ISOM good luck for tomorrow, we'll be thinking of you. I know what you mean about 'mindless games'.
Salome what a lovely photo, and such pretty girls. The one on the right is very like my eldest granddaughter, who is absolutely beautiful IMHO.
Well DS, DIL, DGD and Baby came to visit on saturday, William is just gorgeous of course. I bought a medium sized storage box and arranged all the stuff I'd bought with the things I'd made on top. DIL looked at them and just said 'hmm' and put them in the box. I was making some other some other things but I don't think I'll bother now.
Lots of love to everyone, xxx0 -
Hi everyone
I've had the loveliest card from Mrs Twins as a thank you for the squares, so thank you very much, Mrs Twins!
Chalky - hope the bottom is less painful today.
Pippa - (((hugs))) to your MUm - I hope the concerns are groundless.
Kinsey - no snakes today, thank goodness! We did have a real treat at lunchtime, though - a whole family of mum, dad and two baby buzzards circling just overhead - I think the babies were having flying lessons! I got a stiff neck and the sun in my eyes but they were such a lovely sight it was well worth it. I bet William is really gorgeous, isn't he?
Well, it's been a busy sort of day - we visited a market this morning, just for a browse, but came away with loads of fruit and veg, and a lovely plant, plus some books from the book fair that is held there each month. It was good to get out and away from the house for a couple of hours - we sometimes forget to do things like that! I had plans to work for the rest of the day but had to help DH. He's been spreading shingle in various places; we have a big builders' sack full of it but he saw a couple of wasps coming out of it and, as they seem to go for him, I had to shovel the shingle into a wheelbarrow for him! It must have looked a sight - me in a summer skirt, top and sandals, with a great big shovel filling the wheelbarrow, while he just watched like a chauvinist! I hope no-one was watching!
Well, I suppose I'd better go and dish up the dinner.
Have a great evening, everyone.

Just a quick fly-by....am trying to sort my UFOs; my WIPS and my PHDs(!) and wondering if, Chalky, you would like the hedgies either
(a) stuffed with faces
(b) stuffed without faces or
(c) looking more like roadkill (ie, not stuffed, sewn or with faces..)
I have some (okay - more than some) at various stages of completion and wondering how you want them...just so I can get some space cleared and concentrate on what I need to get done IYKWIM.
Please let me know - then I can get stuff sorted into various boxes to send to various places. I've let it all get a little out of hand and have decided to have a word with myself!
Once all my parcels are in the right place, I can update my totals (or at least get some on for this year) as I don't tend to put things on as completed until I have sent them off...and I haven't sent anything to anyone as yet which is terrible!
Phew - hope you all get where I am coming from and I am sure I'm not the only one with "stuff" at various stages all over the place? Or at least, please tell me I'm not!
with love,
Dawn x:hello:0 -
Purple Teddybear I have 'stuff' in every room except the bathroom, just give me time!0

Purple Teddy Bear - oh, you are SO not alone in this! I have things I've stuffed into carrier bags that just need sewing up; the Mr Bean teddy I promised my DS2 when he was about ten years younger than he is now, for one. A yellow teddy that just looked like something out of a horror film is another, and a bandy-legged ballerina, too - I could go on! I also have squares that need the ends sewing in but I find those easier to complete, so I should get on with them really. I also have a bag of things for Lou that I keep thinking I'll add to but really should have posted ages ago. I need a talking to, too! I shall resolve to start 2011 on a better footing - that should give me the rest of this year to get all my WIPs finished!

At least it's not just me...makes me feel better!!!
Crazy thing is - I am sooo organised, methodical and "finishing off stuff" at work I get so annoyed with myself at times. Maybe I am allowed to be like this at home cos I am so not in my "other life".
Ho hum --- off to sew up a hot water bottle cover and find some buttons, so at least it's finished!! Good way of using odd balls of chunky up, dead easy and grow so fast. Another obsessions methinks!
Dawn x:hello:0 -
Thanks Kinsey! So sorry that she just said hmm...some people dont get how long it takes to make things and over time Ive become more discerning about who I knit for. With the exception of charity stuff of course. If they dont go yahoo and love it then I dont do it again!! Have you done any Debbie Bliss ones? she does a gorgeous boys hoody thats very fashonable! Im on the way with my cardi but I have been destracted by worky things...
PTB youre one up on me - I just have bags and bags, and boxes and boxes of wool!! Dont get as far as the WIPs!
Off to fronteirville and then a couple of rows before an early night. I have to get up at 7am which is going to be a shock as havent seen that time for quite a while!!
hugs those that need them...may please just pop in and let us know youre ok. Orkley star, pfungi, only girl etc havent been seen a while either!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0 -
Good Morning one and all
Kinsay --- I am so sorry that DDIL wasn't more enthusistic. I had a friend once who looked at a piece of applique work I had done --- and was really proud of and she said" You must have too much time on your hands" I think they have a slightly different gene make -up than all of us on here!!
Just a reminder of the little poem I tucked in with my hand made Christmas goodies last year
These presents are made with lots of love!!xx
I made these for you ,but really don't mind.
If you would really rather leave them behind.
If they are going to go home and live in a drawer.
Please pop them in the Charity box by the back door!
However, I do think it is sad that people don't appreciate hand made things because so much love is put into very stitch
B]B][/B]Pippa[/B[/B What lovely family times-- Lovely to be all together.
Purple teddy Bear Hedgies are fine any way you want to send them --- but unstuffed means the postage is a little bit less and that helps. So I dont mind stuffing them and finishing them off.
Kathy -- Thanks for kind comments on blog--- So Sunshine Bus Mark 2 !!!
Mrs Twins -- We are home til Nov but please don't worry to send me a card-- seeing your blankets is thanks enough and I am sure postage costs etc must be so high. Thank you for kind thought though
ISOM Difficult days I know but hope things work out really soon for you
