Evening all...just a quick note to say that i am ok. I cant really say much publically other than I'm ok at this stage. All concerned have had a horrendous year and I hope that we can move on with our lives and make changes where they are needed.
I feel shattered - its been a very tough day and very emotional. No knitty stuff done but am going to get mum a set of knitpro needles to say thank you for all her support.
Tomorrow is poppycat moving to foster carer so that too will be an emotional day but for different reasons. Going with mum and a friend and will have a nice lunch along the way!
    Hugs those that need them.
Thank you all so much for your support. I can honestly say that knitting and crcohet really have saved me sinking into that very very dark place...talking of which Mum made union rep a cable phone color in union cols and he loved it as well as the cupcakes that I made!!

    Good morning everyone!

Well I was up with the sun today – it’s a beautiful day here so far. I’ve managed an hours weeding in the shady bits & will leave it for now as there’s no shade ‘til about lunchtime.

Shezmit – good to hear from you, sounds like your Mum is coping well, good luck with the chemo. Hang in there girl, I know how hard it is to try to stay strong, make a bit of quiet time for yourself as & when you can. ((Hugs)) & prayers.

ISOM good to hear you’re coping ok. ((Hugs)) for you & your Mum.

F1 Widow, sounds like you’ve a busy weekend ahead. Glad you’re up to posting here. Hope you enjoy the races.

Chalky – a whole w/e to yourself – have fun. Just checked out your latest pics – beautiful lapcuddlygans well done!

    Psso – ((Hugs))s

Thanks for all the welcome back messages

Think it must be time for breakfast now. Be back later.

    Hi Everyone
I haven't been posting but have been (mainly good) busy. I have been trying to keep up, but apologies in advance if I miss anyone.
First of all Pam, it's lovely to see you back posting. We missed you.
psso, it sounds like pottering around the greenhouse was a great way to spend the day, especially if its where you feel close to Jim.
Shezmit, glad you are having some memory making days.
ISOM, hope the situation coming to an end will help.
Mrs MP, sorry to hear about FIL. Here if you need us.
Pippa, hope Mum's results come back soon and are what they should be. Well done on the new recrcuit!
Socky, hope the meeting re the boys is useful. The sewing up lesson sounds great - what a result!
PTB, I'm in the same boat as you but without hedgies!
Salome, what good looking children! Glad it was a nice day.
F1w, hope your mood lifts soon. What is the "catering dept" making today?
Kinsey, sorry about puss. How is the lion coming on? If I remember right it was you who made the beautiful geishas? I'm not sure I work neatly enough for amigurumi but I will give it a go at some point.
So lovely to see the pics of Chalky and Mioliere and fantastic that you all got on so well. Chalky, I heard that cleaning regimes aren't good for bruised bottoms. The best medicine is cups of tea, hooking, and frequent visits to the computer :rotfl:. Kathy, I also have a part done Mr Bean teddy that I'm not sure I knitted the head right. It's on my list......
Right, really should go and deal with mahoosive washing pile and try and restore some order.
Apologies if I missed anyone. Hugs to you all

Good morning to one and all.
Well I decided to go to a leaving do of an ex colleague last night -- He has been teaching in the same school for 35 years so it certainly the end of an era. It was lovely to catch up with people who I have not seen for ages. I mean to stay an hour but ended up staying all evening. Buster was soooooo excited to see me arrive home!!

He did tr and sleep on my bed but soon got the message!! I did have to get up just after 3.00 a.m as he needed to go out. He has a door flap in his back door so id used to being able to come and go.

Well I am going to have a quiet day here just pootling around and a bit of hooking of course. The squares D Christofili sent are the ones in hand at the moment -- I wish I knew who it is!

After Operation Stitch Up Part 2 I am going to actually have a little break from Charity Work and start --- (Hold up arms in horror!!!!) Some Christmas projects. We loved the cuddly blankets in the Sunshine Bus on our travels and I want to make 2 blankets. 1 for DOH -- so a bit of subterfuge there-- He won't even notice he is so used to seeing me with hook in hand!
But also I want to make a blanket using darker colours for DD1 and her partners van ---- Has anyone got a pattern of one using dark colours-- purples/oranges etc please?

Have great days everybody and lots of gentle thoughts for anyone with their hands full

    Hi all,

I`d still be in bed waiting if I had to get up with the sun - it`s cloudy, drizzling rain and a bloomin` chilly wind with it. Very autumnal actually. Does this mean that summer is past up here ??

Not much doing here today - definitely in C.B.A. mode (can`t be a...) not even in the mood for knitting :o.

Chalky - I think your D Christofili may be dpixie ?? Not positive, but it rings a bell somewhere as someone who sent me stuff for LH, and I thought at the time it was an unusual surname.
No doubt she`ll come along and tell me I waaaay off beam.
Hope your `sit upon` is getting better and you have lots of nice soft cushions to sit on.

Good to see Pam, k2tog and shezmit posting.

Roamin hasn`t been about lately either ?? You OK Jean ???

ISOM - good to hear you seem to have got the work thing sorted out. Phone cover and cupcakes for the union rep - bribery and corruption !!! :shhh: Hope all goes well with pusscat today.

f1widow - it`s a good job someone stays at home to feed the hungry hordes - what`s on the menu today then ?

I`m just off to have some cheese and crackers for lunch. Might even push the boat out and have some chutney on as well.

    Bye for now.

  • Hi all

At long long last - please find below my update (long time in coming...this is the first one of the year!!)

I have this "thing" where I only post when I have sent something off, and these have arrived at Lou's.

    So here we are:

6 Jumpers (baby sized through to 5 year old)
    6 preemie cardigans
    3 preemie hats
    4 teddy bears
    3 boobs

Pretty pants really - but this will improve as I get everything that's a UFO turned into a FO and sent where it needs to be!!

Buster is trying to help me with Operation Stitch Up !!!!! I do realise all things should be pet and smoke free but I am trying to lay out the squares to get a pattern going and he REALLY wants to help!!!!
Update on bottom --- all much better --- can sleep on both sides but it would not be up to close scrutiny !!!
Football about to start. I really don't like football but I shall be perverse as I am home alone and watch it
