morning everyone - another beautiful day here in france although it is slightly cooler than it has been during the past week. (its a bit of a relief as on friday it was so hot that after being outside for half an hour i had prickly heat!)
yesterday afternoon was spent in the pool with out french neighbours (who make no allowances for the fact that i dont speak much french) and i must be honest that after 2 hours, i was so exhausted that i couldn't think of the names for things in english, let alone french.
did some spinning yesterday - mmmm, i think i need to do a bit more practice as it was not of very good quality, but heck, i have only had one lesson so i should not expect to be brilliant at it just yet.
also, collected OH from the airport last night, flight was delayed, so we only got home at about 11pm french time, and then he wanted to watch the football highlights - i can only say that i slept very well last night, like a log in fact.
on the update front, i have not been very good, but this is what i have done in the last few weeks:
UPDATE
3 hexagonal jumpers
i am afraid that its not much, but i have half finished another 3, so thats almost a quarter of what i need to complete for my personal goal before going to SA.
i think its time for a coffee and a bit of hooking whilst OH is doing his exercise regime for the morning (i am exercising my fingers, so we are equal).
have a lovely day filled with happiness and smiles and yarn

Afternoon all! Am home after a couple of days staying with my girls! They move to Italy, all being well, in two weeks so then its skype etc. Managed to go without tears and I will see them soon...hoping to go for a stay after work sorted. Will need a break regardless of outcome as havent really had one since last aug when all this started...Had lovely time at their speach day but it was a tad long me thinks...lovely school and despite being posh has all the right values. Had a go on the wii and know I would be bored of it in 5 mins as just feels very time wasty!!
Did manage to finish the crochet hook holder but will now block it and do the inside before sharing it. Loved that blog miol and what a great way of using up all those itty bits of thread!
welcome mrs MW!
Pfungi sorry things have been so tough for you. Hope that you feel brighter each day and manage to pace yourselfSounds as if a few are going through it at the mo ...sometimes its just one foot in front of t'other isnt it. Have to say if I wasnt taking tabs I know I wouldnt be coping at all at the moment. Depression is no fun at all. While trying to see the positives people often dont understand that anything takes effort that you dont necessarily have lol! Hang in there...
dppixie sounds like youve settled in well! Do show us a piccy of the wheel and what you manage to create. Im a bit cack handed and always think I prob wouldnt manage v well!
Chalky lovely to see your MIL - mum had the same test and its horrible...hope things settle soon for her...

Hi all, hope you are all well and finding time for your favourite pastime ie knitting /crochet /ir*ning/h*usew*rk or whatever.
Personally I`m feeling a bit sick _pale__pale_. Jim usually sowed lots of seeds for bedding plants for the garden but I haven`t done that this year. Two of my neighbours saw me trying to get the front garden tidied up a bit the other day and very kindly came and dug out the weeds and dead stuff yesteday and planted the few dozen pansies I had, however there is a VERY big empty space right at the front.
SO ..........I had to go and buy plants at the garden centre .
Had a look around and thought - How much !! - for that !! ? Daylight robbery. Just shows how long it I since I bought plants eh ?
OK, had to bite the bullet, but instead of buying bedding stuff I bought some perennials which should , in theory anyway, come up every year unless we get frosts like this past year to kill `em off.
Shall just have to get myself sorted out next spring and get some seeds sown - loads of plants for the price of a garden centre 6 packI`ve still got some pansies to stick in the spaces so should be OK.
Had a nice long soak in the bath last night to forestall the aching muscles then did a couple of squares. Going to start a matinee jacket (4ply) which I last did over 30 years ago when expecting my DS1, hope it goes better than it did then. It landed right at the other end of the living / dining room as I kept going wrong somewhere. Can`t remember what I kept doing wrong so this is sort of an experiment. Watch this space.
Off to feed my little `sunshine` as DD is washing her hair. He doesn`t half pick his moments.
Bye for now.

Afternoon all
Quick one today as I am packing and getting stuff ready for going down to the caravan for a few day's. Be back on Saturday as DIL, DS1 and DGD's are coming up for the weekend to see the 2 Nan's
OH has been over to MIL's and cleaned and tidied up for her,I gave him her washing to take over as well. She gave OH some money for our aniversay and said we are to go out for a meal,
I have been to my Mum's, she seems a bit better still not eating except for her porridge she can eat that quite easily, and it fills her up. When the medication kicks in it should help.
She gave me some money for our wedding aniversary as well, which I did'nt want but she insisted ( I always feel guilty having money from Mum for birthday's and Christmas, anyone else feel the same)??
I can't believe how quickly the time has gone it's 43 years  on 1st July.
I have lots of squares to send off to you chalky but I will leave them until next week, give you time to settle back in
dpixie - I know what you mean I don't think I could either, she really is quite a tough old bird(as I keep telling her) just gets on with thing's, she does'nt do bad for 88 crippled with arthiritis and has osteoporosis as well.
Well this quick post has rambled on so I better go....I can't put the dreaded ironing off any longer.....and anyway I have a Magnum in the fridge with my name on so that will spur me on:rotfl:
Bye for now everyone, I hope you all have a good few days, see you all on Saturday
Devon here we come :j

Hi everyone - we've been over to the holiday home we look after to do the gardens this morning. They have guests arriving on Thursday, so we did the garden today and will get the house ready on Wednesday morning. It's a lovely house and only needs a bit of dusting and floor-mopping.
Pippa - 43 years! That's amazing - many congratulations to you both! I agree - having your Mum give you money does feel strange! I hope her meds kick in soon. Have a great few days away.
DPixie - it was 37 degrees here yesterday and I think it's about the same today. It's really uncomfortably warm and I would welcome a bit of 'cool' for a few days! The more you mix with your French neighbours, the easier it will be to pick up the lingo, although I know just how exhausting it can be. We've had so many challenges here - especially with red tape - that, if I've had to explain something complicated to someone in French, it really hurts my brain!
ISOM - hope you're feeling less sad now.
Pol - good to hear from you.
Elaine - please don't be so hard on yourself about the garden; you've been through such a lot and have a lot going on. The garden will always be there and I'm sure it won't mind waiting until the time is right for you.
Well, I very naughtily bought myself some gorgeous new patterns yesterday from a seller on Etsy - for some sweet baby sandals and two tops, and they were emailed to me almost immediately, so I just have to print them off. I also bought one from another seller - a gorgeous pattern for a baby doll - I think I might start that one later on today.
Anyway, I'd better go and get the washing off the line. It's been there all day and is probably over-dry now!
Maytaurus - hope you are keeping well?

morning all, hope that you are well - may, hope that you are okay in this weather.
kathy - it has been blistering here too, however, me and my trusty pool chair (where you are half submersed) have done our thing and although i have changed colour (my neighbours told me that they dont recognise me this dark brown) i have remained cool - however, what to do at night? i am one of those people that needs some weight on them to sleep, so i struggle in and out of the summer duvet all night long - thank heavens our mattress doesn't squeak - i would keep OH awake all night.
other than that, i am working hard on my crochet target, i do want to make sure that i reach it before i go, but as it gets so hot here, i do have to choose my crochet times.
isom - as you said, you have skype to keep in contact, and if you have a camera built into your laptop - you can see them every day. i love skype and use it quite a lot.
elaine - i agree with kathy - you have been through some rough times, give yourself a break. in fact, sit yourself down with a cuppa and tell yourself how well you have done, sometimes you need to think about all you have been through in order to realise how far you have come. we are right behind you ... and well done you.
oh well, i think i will have a cup of coffee and look up the weather report for today, they have been threatening rain for a couple of days - might be good for the garden.
OH is off mushrooming with our old french neighbour, so he will be a while - more interneting for me then.
Enjoy the sun, the warmth and the lovely friendship you get here everyone

morning! Sounds a blissful life DP!! What will you both do for work in your new home? Mushrooming sounds fun, as long as you dont pick the wrong ones
Am off this morning to have a haircut and then for a meal to celebrate good friends job tonight, no doubt with snooze in between! Baby cardi is coming on - almost done the back
Psso gardening is exhausting isnt it! Plus its been so hot. I got a few essentials the other day and it cost over £40! Perrenials are a great idea..I dont see the point of buying stuff that only lasts a bit!
Miol did you manage to sort the house out for the holiday cottage? Nice to have something that earns a bit while not having to go every day!
Pol youve been busy!
Pippa when is MIL due home?
Big hugs to lurkers, people feeling poorly and even worse due to the heat...I am fortunate that I love heat although the washing machine is on constantly it seems! May not seen you for a while, same with Seakay...hope youre both okNerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0
