    Hi
Have had a brill weekend. It was my birthday Saturday, so hubby and I went out for a birthday breakfast at a nearby cafe we'd never been to before. It was yummy :-) Then we took my brand new 13yr old teenager (my last one now lol) shopping. Hubby then very kindly put our gazebo up, and fixed it onto the decking, so I can sit ou. I'm not very good with the sun due to sunstroke when I was 10. It's just like having another room. Which was great when the football was on, the last couple of days though, the children have realised it's benefits, and have taken it, and my lie back chairs over lol, plus their friends ????!!!!!! Typical lol. In the evening my mum treated us to a meal at a local place which was yummy. I had crispy salmon on a prawn risotto base, with veg, and hubby had a shank of lamb on mash and veg. It was very nice. For dessert I had mango sorbet, and hubby had apple crumble with custard :-)
    Hello to MrsMW :-)
This week I've been in a 'consolidating' mood. Think my head's on over load and needs thinning out and put in order lol. Suddenly I seem to have a lot on the go, but it doesn't seem as if I;m doing anything if you know what I mean, so I need to sit down, re-think things, and get some order on the move, which for me isn't the easiest of tasks lol.
Have a blessed and prosperous day. Hugs to all who need one ((((hugs)))) Love you all.

    Good morning all.

Well, after another scorching day yesterday, I gave in and watered the garden last night, about 8.30 and then, of course we had a lovely downpour at about 10.00 - hey ho!

Elaine, I love perennials - the only things I plant in the garden, I occasionally buy a few bedding plants for pots but even then I'll go for long lasting plants like violas & geraniums. Its important that you are able to enjoy your time in the garden, I do my weeding (yuck!) listening to audio books - makes it much more enjoyable.

I've made a start on the squares for KAS - 2 crocheted 1 knitted and another on the needles, so far so good.:)

I'm going out with PamsPal today - its cloudy and overcast here, not sure what to wear now as we planned to go into town hmmm......

Well, I must go & shower / dress etc.

    Have a good day everyone

    HUGS

Hi all - woke up a bit later than usual this morning so I'm all behind, plus it's sweltering hot already and I've had to close up all the shutters. I've had some online work to do so I made sure I did that before it got too hot.

DPixie - try a lighter quilt with a heavy throw on top; I've done that in the summer and it works well. I hope the evenings cool down again soon - the heat has been keeping me awake. It didn't help that Louis the cat went missing for longer than usual! He was away for two nights so I started to worry even though DH said 'he's a young male; it's what they do!'. Anyway, he turned up first thing this morning, had breakfast and has been conked out on the sofa in the coolest part of the house ever since! I think he's in for the long sleep!

ISOM - the holiday cottage is more or less ready. We have the heating engineer turning up there tomorrow morning to fit a part to the boiler, and I need to stock up with milk, wine, bread and so on, but the garden looked great when we finished it yesterday. Tomorrow, while the engineer is there, I'll do a last sweep up, put towels out and so on, then I hope we won't be bothered with any problems for the next two weeks! Once they've gone, I'll have the sheets and towels to wash but that's all extra pennies, so I won't mind that -all money for my next wool-shopping trip in the UK in September!

Happy Birthday for yesterday, Salome! Hope you had a lovely day. Your mentioning the gazebo has made me remember ours. We bought it ages ago and have never taken it out of the box - when you said it's like an extra room, I told DH and he liked the sound of that! So I think we'll put it up later. Hope you manage to 'thin' your head out!

Pam - rain was threatening here last night but didn't happen. Hope you have a good day with Pam's Pal!

Well, I think I'll go and tidy up my wool corner next to the sofa; it's such a mess of wool, patterns and so on that it's confusing me!

By the way, everyone. Jean has emailed to say she has done the update, bless her. For some reason I can't get the spreadsheet to 'share' which means I can't add the latest one to my blog. I'm looking into it and will let you know when I've managed to post it. In the meantime, don't worry that things aren't being included -the super-efficient Jean is on the case!

Afternoon all - just wanted to check in and say I'm still alive and lurking but there is more wool in my head than on my knitting needles at the moment IYSWIM!
Thanks for asking ISOM, but just more of same regarding pain, lack of sleep and general blurriness and not had much to add to thread as putting what energies I have into trying to sort out my finances onto paper for the upcoming negotiations as OH has now said he wants a divorce. Fortunately I am only too well aware of the early symptoms of depression so can make moves to head them off at the pass so to speak before they get too great a grip and develop into the clinical state.
Am enjoying the sunny weather - just as long as the humidity stays away - especially as the downstairs of my house is quite easy to keep cool and have borrowed a learn to crochet book from the library so that I can have a play at it when I can't concentrate on my jumper pattern.

Love to all, welcome Mrs W, I've been following all your exploits without having very much to say!

Seakay - it's good to hear from you. I'm sorry that things are not so good for you at the moment but I'm really pleased that you can prevent depression before it really sets in. I hope you can get some decent sleep. Good luck with everything. I hope the 'learn to crochet' book works but don't forget that there are plenty of tutorials online, including some with videos. Once it has 'clicked' you'll wonder why it seemed so difficult, I promise!

It's way too hot here today; I've just been out to buy some more strimmer line but do I feel like strimming? No! While I was out I checked that the tyres I ordered (which, along with the new headlights that arrived last week, are needed to get the car through the French MOT) have arrived at the tyrefitters, and they have, so they will be fitted at 4pm on Thursday and the MOT is at 5 - fingers crossed. It's taken ages to get everything together for it and, while I am lucky I've had DH's van to drive, I can't wait to get back to a car with a rear-view window and a mirror to match! I suppose I've had good practice at using wing mirrors, so it's not all bad!

Anyway, hope you are all having a good day.

Evening all, still very hot here but we had a lot of rain in the night which the garden enjoyed. I'm so sad that I can no longer do my garden, I used to love it so much. Luckily I planted perennials a few years back so at least they hide the weeds a bit, only problem I have now is they grow so big. I shall have to instruct DH to dig some up later.
I had a lovely moment at the weekend, I had knitted a little bolero for nobody in particular when I suddenly thought to offer it to my neighbour's little girl. It was so funny, Mum put it on her to try and she refused to take it off. She stood there with her little arms folded like Les Dawson and her face getting redder and redder. Bless her she's only 18 months old but obviously has an eye for fashion. I'm now knitting her another one with short sleeves.
Just had some delicious English strawberries, in fact I might be a pig and have some more!
    Enjoy the evening.

Hi everyone - I've been MIA a lot lately for one reason or another! For the last couple of days I've been getting the holiday home we look after ready for guests who arrive tomorrow - luckily, all the work is done, unless they have a problem and we get called out!

This afternoon I've been helping DH look for stones for a wall he's repairing out in the garden - we're only putting off the time when he has to come back into the kitchen to finish work in there! My DS1 and his family arrive on 27th July so we have to get a bedroom ready for that, too. Tomorrow, my car finally has it's last (hopefully) MOT so that will be another chore sorted out!

Anyway, no hooking done lately but I hope to get some done this evening, even if it is just a couple of preemie hats.

It's very very hot here today - we could do with a bit of rain to cool things down a bit.

Hope everyone is having a good day and (((hugs))) to those who are in need.
