Knit Your Square to Give Your Share - PART 4

Hi everyone, hope you are all well.
Crikey it`s been hot here today, I know some of you have been enjoying the sunshine for a few days but it`s been cooler/ cloudy here. Not today though - far too hot for me I`m afraid so I`ve been indoors most of the time.
Some of you mentioning gazebos popped the thought into my head that I should maybe get DS to give me a hand putting up our one. I have one of those parasol things but the sun WILL keep moving round and I have to keep shifting my seat to stay in the shade - gazebo might be better, more widespread shade cover.:T.
Well, front garden looks much better now. I planted the perrenials and the rest of my pansies and I had some Cosmos seedlings for along the fence between us and next door so I`m a bit happier with the result. Going to tackle the back on Saturday with some help from DS - if he gets up in the morning !!!!
Sat down with the 4 ply wool the other night and guess what ? Yep, did a few rows and went wrong again ............ so chucked it in the corner and started a dinosaur for DGS - much less hassle. Nearly finished it so he`s a very happy wee lad.
Have completely lost track of the stuff I`ve done for charity knitting so will have to have a look on Kathy`s blog and see what I`ve got against my name already, ready to update for next time.
Remember I lost the cable for connecting my camera to the computer ? Well it doesn`t matter now..........my camera has disappeared as well !!! Think we`ve got `Borrowers` or spooks or something `cos of course NO-ONE has seen it / moved it.
Off to sit down with a dino`s leg on the needles.
Bye for now.

Morning all!
You know things aren't quite right when being compos mentis before 11am feels like a triumph!
Did see your kind invitation yesterday ISOM, and even had a hook in my bag all ready to go, but got distracted by need to do more paperwork ready for meeting with OH on Sat and then dozed off! Sorry! No reflection on you, honestly!
Are you ok, by the way - that's two late nights in a row for you?
Anyway, determined to do something useful today I'm off to the George Thomas charity shop to do some more needle sorting for them. THey have a great box of knitting needles - mostly unlabelled and detached from their pairs! I've done some for them but haven't felt up to it for ages.
So my charitable knitting for today is not so much knitting as enabling others!
It's a little cooler here at the moment - hope it's bearable for you PSSO.
I'm persevering with my crochet efforts - hope to get competent enough to attempt a sunshine square next month.
Also must try and find my Innocent hats bag - that'll be starting up again soon.
Love and (((hugs))) to all!0 -
Am ok but now have crashing headache - a mix of late nights, bacardi, circumstances and hormones.
Mrs Twins Ive seen you in a mag!! Assume you have a copy (thinks oops now she will ask which mag and Ill have to trawl and find it
My friend has got me lots of scrummy shawl patterns and mags and I somehow found myself saying that I would make her son a lion...
Seakay am in Sat late afternoon if you want to pop in - could also look at crochet books?
Hope people are ok/ Im trying to keep busy so I dont have to think on next week too much!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0 -
Good evening everyone,
Sorry I haven't been around for a few days, computer was poorly but my son has fixed it now, bless him. It's amazing how much I missed you all.
mioliere thankyou so much for the links to the patterns, I love the little sqares one, it's one of those patterns that you have to make whether anybody wants it or not!
Pam it was so lovely to see your post, welcome back.
Pippa hope your mum is a bit better, what a brave lady.
ISOM good luck with the work meeting. I love the idea of the little blonde rasta. How's your Mum and Isoke?
Seakay sorry to hear you're OH wants a divorce, it's never an easy thing to do even when you know it's the right thing for both of you. Hope it all goes smoothly for you.
MrsMW what a lovely story about the bolero, it's so satisfying when your work is appreciated isn't it?
psso your garden sounds lovely. I get very frustrated that I can't seem to do as much in the garden as I used to, a lot of stuff desperately needs cutting back, then DH has to get rid of all bags of rubbish I make.
Chalky, welcome home, sounds like a happy journey.
Mrs Twins thankyou for showing me where you used my squares, it's amazing how you keep track of them all, and of course blanket number sixteen is as beautiful as the first fifteen.
It's so good to be back with you all, lots of love, xxxx0 -

Hi everyone
I’ve just realised I didn’t come on here at all yesterday – the day just flew by and I’ve no idea where the time went!
Chalky – welcome back. I’m glad you got home safely and that you had such a good trip – lovely photos on FB and your blog!
Elaine – did you get my pm?
Seakay – hope things are a bit better for you.
Jean - hope the little ones are behaving themselves and that Janette has had some good results.
Well, after a lot of hassle and a lot of expense (headlights and new back tyres – over €600 altogether!) my car is finally MOT’d for the next two years with the added bonus of not having to pay road tax, either! While it’s been handy having DH’s van to drive, it’s great having the luxury of a ‘proper’ car with a rear-view mirror! The MOT place gave me a free warning triangle and a high-vis vest (legal requirements here) but, as I already have those, I’d rather have paid less than the €63 charge for the MOT itself! Still, I’m so happy to be up and running again and being able to play CDs in the car rather than vintage cassettes in the van!
I started sorting out my clothes yesterday – they are all over the house in various bits of furniture but, as we are soon going to be sorting out the big front bedroom (for when DS1 and his family come over at the end of the month) I need to get them all in one place. I’ve already filled two bags for charity.
Anyway, we’ve been invited to a barbecue this evening, about an hour’s drive from here, so I shall pack some crochet to do on the way – probably something mindless like the back of the cushion I started weeks ago, or some more preemie hats. I’ve been crocheting some summer sandals for Summer for her birthday in August – I found the most gorgeous pattern in an Etsy shop (google Mon Petit Violon – she has the most beautiful patterns on her site; of course, I couldn’t just buy the one pattern – I bought one for a sleeveless jumper and one for a little dress – just over £8 altogether which I was really pleased with because the patterns are very original). I’ve nearly made one sandal and I’m thrilled with how it’s turned out.
Well, I’d better go and put the kettle on again.
Hope you all have a great day and that the weather is good – it’s been super-hot here for the last week and reached 39 degrees on Sunday – way too hot, so I hope it cools down a bit before we all melt!

ISOM I'd be happy to make the lion for you, or have a go anyway, will pm you.
mioliere so pleased to hear your car has passed, and hey, a high viz jacket, we'll see you coming. Saw the little pink dress on your b**g, it's gorgeous.0
