ISOM - did your dentist friend have any advice for you? I hope so. Hope the pain has eased.
Kinsey - I do know what you're thinking! When we last spoke to them they are trying to work on a way of keeping it going but on a smaller scale; they could hardly believe how many people were upset at the thought of it all being lost. The thing is, they have to make it at least keep them going wage-wise and that's so difficult here with all the red tape and the way the French, including even the official bodies, take so long to do anything. Real enterprise doesn't get helped along here at all. Of course, it would be lovely if they could keep a smaller version of it going, but not at the expense of their health and mental state. I shall keep you informed. They have become very firm friends and we can see how the worry affects them.
Well, it's damp, grey and cool here today. DH has a small area of the vaulted ceiling in the dining room to plaster today; we had to leave it because some cables were going into the ceiling first but, now that that's done, we can get on. I now have proper builders scaffolding up in the dining room which makes the place look really elegant - NOT!
I see on Facebook that Chalky has posted a couple of messages. She is on her way back and, from what I can gather, spent last night in Tokyo, so today should be the last leg of that long long flight back! I bet we are all really looking forward to having here back on here, and ! can't wait to hear all about her holiday!
Anyway, will catch up later.
Hope you are all well.

hello from a wet and cold france. not a very nice day - been pouring since saturday, however, to make things better, my hubby has decided to take me skiing as a late birthday present. we are going to a place an hour away for 3 days (hopefully the 30 mile and hour wind is not blowing there). i am really looking forward to it. have packed my kindle and my crochet just in case the wind is blowing and we cant get up the mountain.
isom - thinking of you, you poor thing
kathy - hope that you can swim, it feels like the rain is never going to stop here.
may - thinking of you
everyone else - HELLO THERE and HAVE A FAB DAY - just think of the rain as something that is going to make all the flowers start growing.
lots of love

Mrs Moneypenny - I'm so glad the bulk of the work has been done, and I'm even more glad that you are more relaxed about your health. Like you, I'm sure that they would have wanted to see you by now if there was a problem.
DPixie - wow, have a wonderful time. It sounds perfect not having to travel far to go skiing! Hope the weather is good for the whole time you are there. We had a lot of rain yesterday afternoon. It's damp now but, so far, hasn't rained properly today. The forecast is for rain all week. Roll on spring - if it ever gets here!

Silly Sausage here......in my rush to get to the PO yesterday went scooting out to the garage and because we have had cats and dogs rain for the past 3 days I went sliding right across the grass, landing on my botty - well not strictly true I stuck my right hand out to "try" and stop myself ending up in the mud...didn't work, so have my right wrist strapped - sprained I have slapped a load of arnica gel onto it and its one of those stretchy bandages. Off course by the time this morning arrived my shoulder is also aching. Have spent the morning, sorting the material stash in the sweatshop - no knitting, no crochet, no sewing, will give it all till tomorrow to rest then I am back to sewing.
Mrs Moneypenny - lovely to hear the builders have got on so well, also that stern talking too you gave yourself has obviously worked.
Dpixie enjoy the snow bbbbrrrrrr. Have taken ages to type this and I find it so maddening - by tomorrow hope to have all fingers working! take care...xxx

Oh, Jean - that must have really hurt; I do hope you're not too sore. You're right to rest it but make sure you don't start sewing or something like that before you feel up to it. In fact, take it easy for the rest of the day (I know you won't!).

ouch jean poor you, sending hugs and hope you are fully better very soon.
painters have gone home, they ran out of paint for youngest DS room and said they'll come back tomorrow to give that and the hall/stairs/landing a third coat, they are being very thorough it looks brill, love the colours the boys picked, youngest went for putting green (soft green) and eldest chose striking cyan walls (strong vibrant bright blue) and first dawn (soft pale blue) ceiling. the hall etc is natural hessian (light beige). they said i can have all the leftover paints for 'touch ups' in case we knock the walls putting the furniture back in.:TSPC~12 ot 124

Oh Jean, you poor girl. TRY to take it easy for a bit.
mrs-moneypenny no news is good news eh? Good luck with the glossing, I have to use quick dry eggshell or it ends up furry, because dogs do like to help.0 -
aww poor you roaming! Problem with us crafters is we dont like to sit and do nowt do we eh! Hope the arnica works.
Mrs M good that youve heard nothing. Dont be so hard on yourself - youre bound to worry!
My friend was a sweetie and made a few calls and I am now the proud ownder of a newly packed tooth! Turns out that the 3 roots in the tooth are dying (thus pain!) so theyve packed it with stuff to kill the rest of the root off and will then do root canal as far as they are able; apparently there was a bit of a gap so root was exposed (thus more pain!) so now just feeling sore from the treatment but more bruised than anything. Back to work tomorrow and then to dentist in about a month to have the rest done...
Am decided that the wolly noro blanket will go on hold until I can get the wool and will ask for some for my bday etc. Meanwhile will do some charity stuff and get on with my fabric quilt ...which will be a multi colored version of this
