 Hi everyone, hope you are all well.

It`s quiet here isn`t it ? Everyone must be very busy today so that they can have the weekend free.

Not much to say really - still lots of family stuff going on but hopefully it will pass soon. Keeping my head low and letting them get on with it so at least I can`t be accused of interfering. :(

    Update for me

    1 preemie blanket
    1 baby cardigan

Like most of you, I don`t really need any more wool right now and I was going to be good and not buy any till I go to the knitting show at Perth in May...............but I think I just might go for a drive tomorrow, into the country and visit a wool shop and do some feeling, touching, stroking and fondling ----the wool you mucky minded lot :naughty::p Might cheer me up a bit, especially if the sun shines.

    See you later.

  • sorry you have family problems psso, hope things are sorted soon
bought a ball of the new sirdar salsa, to knit a scarf with, its a bit like the can can yarn. i too wasnt going to buy any wool, but when i go into town i like to say hello to my friend who has the wool stall, and he showed me it, and i couldnt resist, even tho he tried telling me all the pink was sold to put me off buying any, but i know what a joker he is, and every friday lunchtime, he hides pink wool from me
daniel is becoming talented, and is making a scarf with 'designer' holes, lol, to be fair he is doing ok with it, and did some knitting at craft group with me this afternoon.

josh on the other hand is becoming an incontrollable nightmare, wont do a single thing i ask, not even getting in bath, lies, breaks things, and tonight started lightuing paper in his bedroom, god knows where he found the lighters, as no one i know smokes.

anyway they just gone to bed, so i'm sat here with a bottle of red apple cider, yum

    hugs all

Love Aristotle ISOM, how are the legs done?

Shaz sorry to hear about more problems, he's old enough to realise the danger he's putting you all in, whatever his problems. How are you getting on with th friend who's helping you?

psso families! They can be a nightmare sometimes can't they? But I guess we wouldn't be without them. hugs.
  • the lady who is helping me is coming along to the child in need meeting on thursday, she has already contacted the boys social worker, and let her know that ss are breaking the law by not providing services when clearly there is a need.
apparantly 'a lack of funding' is often used by ss to fob parents off, but gillian who knows all the laws on disability issues, says this isnt legal, and is sure we will get somewhere, without having to resort to taking wakefield ss to court as other families have in the past.
gillian has also set up a youth club which initially will be one evening a month, for disabled children and their friends and /or siblings, as there is such a demand for one.
she has also helped me apply for some funding to enable me to take the boys on a proper holiday. we usually go self catering in a small caravan somewhere, not exactly a holiday for me tho, as i have cooking etc to do, as well as entertain the lads
we are hoping the funding will enable us to go to butlins half board, mand we can all have a break, with lots for the kids to do, or at least pay for some of the cost as butlins is so exp[ensive, and we've never been
oops long post, and nothing about knitting, sorry

Morning all, bit grey and miserable looking here right now, doesn`t look like the sun will be out. Ah well, maybe tomorrow.

Socky, you have mentioned knitting in your post ----in your sig it says Loves to knit and crochet for others :rotfl::rotfl::T

Pleased to hear that at last you have someone with a bit of sense on your side. Hopefully things will get better soon. Fingers crossed for the holiday help too. Mmm red apple cider sounds lovely, might have to try that if I can find it.

ISOM - the octopus is lovely. Whoever gets him will be delighted,is it for a special little person? How is the tooth problem today, hope it`s a bit easier.

Well, I`ve decided to be good and not go out wool shopping today. Instead I`m going to `go shopping` in my stash. Lots of lovely balls to feel and fondle ( :embarasse just realised that sounds a bit rude, but you know what I mean) and patterns galore to study and the best bit is I won`t be spending any pennies :T.

Think I`ll just go and have a cup of milky coffee while I have a look for inspiration in the pattern box. Back later.

Hugs for all who need them, and a special Hello to mia`s and lurkers, hope you all have a good day.

hi all, back from skiing trip. it is the most wonderful thing to live 1hour and 15 minutes (door to door) from the slopes. i must be honest, its not the best skiing ever, but if you are at my level, there is plenty to entertain. my first 5 minutes were a drama tho, as i had forgotten what to do when i have those long planks on the ends of my feet - i didn't fancy moving (even though the fog was so thick i couldn't see more than about 5 meters in front of me), so i sat down and couldn't get up again. OH went mad and started shouting at me, but as i couldn't really see him, it didn't matter. the mist stayed for wednesday and thursday, but friday was fabulous - the sun was shining and it was very warm, in fact i was too warm. i had also improved to a standard that i was happy with (i hadn't ski'ed for 6 years). also, perhaps because it is local, it was surprisingly cheap. the hire of equipment was very reasonable, the lift passes were cheap and i was kitted out from a local sports shop (decathlon) for very little! perfect!!!

other than that, i was hugely disappointed to see that i ran out of wool when i had 3 rows to finish on a sleeve of a little hexagon jumper. i am not sure what i am going to do with it, but i might have to either have a different finish on that sleeve, or put it on hold until i can order more wool of a similar colour when i am in the uk. how irritating.

oh well, i am off to go and beat back the jungle that is our garden. so ... hello everyone, isom, hope that the tooth is feeling better. elaine, hope that coffee was good. kathy, hope you are doing well. jean, poor you, both your behind and your hand! socky, sock it to 'em! hope that you get loads of money for a break, you deserve one on your own! psso, dont tell me about families - what a crazy lot they are! hey kinsey, hope you are well.

    okay, enough from me

have a fab day wherever you are ...
