HI everyone
Had to get up early just to find the uninterrupted time to come on here!
Shaz - thinking of you and hoping that your new friend can get you the help you need and deserve.
Happycrafter - well done on learning to crochet; it's great when you finally crack it, isn't it?
F1 - hope you are feeling better now? Re the button band - I've crocheted them on knitted things in the past.
Seakay - thanks for the advice re the fridge. The trouble is all the cheeses here seem to smell; in fact the supermarkets stink of it, and I find it really offputting because it's such an unpleasant smell. I really notice the difference when I visit a UK supermarket! If I'm tempted with another French cheese, I will try the bicarb but, for now, I'm in seventh heaven because I have some real Cheddar! I keep finding excuses to eat it - cheese and tomato toastie for lunch yesterday, and grated cheese on the bolognaise for dinner! I shall find another way today!
DPixie - I get through a lot of Marmite; I use it in stews and casseroles as well as on toast. It is so so expensive here, isn't it? Like a lot of other things, unfortunately. I haven't tried Lidl's own brand though but will look for it.
Mrs Twins - congratulations on getting published!
Well, I really don't know where this week has gone. Besides faffing about sorting out my slow PC (I've sorted out the main problem which was caused by AVG), I've been helping DH - well, I was helping until I accidentally stepped on a newly stuck down tile last night and all the adhesive oozed out onto the other tiles, and the tile I stepped on sunk! If he'd done that to something I'd spent time on, I'd have bitten his head off, but he's so laid back, he just sighed and sorted it out. I felt really bad because he'd spent all afternoon tiling two awkward steps which involved a lot of measuring and cutting, and he was really pleased to have got it all done, then I go and make him do some more! What makes it worse was that he had put big masking-tape crosses on the tiles to avoid (because he knows what I'm like!), so I really should have been more careful.
We've been talking about our next visit back home, which shouldn't be too far away now, so I'm starting to get excited about seeing everyone and, of course, calling in my favourite wool shop!
I've done two more baby hats - I'm finding it soothing to do quick things, and it's an easy project to take when we go out in the car.
Well, this morning I'm off to the holiday home I look after to give it it's monthly check, then I have to visit the local mayor - there's some paperwork I asked him for last July, then again in December, and now I'm getting a bit fed up waiting! This afternoon I have ironing to do, and I think I will have a bit of a clean up so that, hopefully, I can free up some proper spare time over the weekend, for a change!
The weather here was wonderful yesterday - about 18 degrees and really sunny. Hope it lasts, and that you all have some sun, too.

Morning ladies - its sunny here (so far) but a little chilly
psso - oh bless thank you for your concern - leg not really hurting it goes numb and tingly if anything but it keeps doing it - very sympathetic DH says its from sitting on the 'puter or sofa (not so much in those words ) joking aside he could be right! have not fallen - how is your hip now? As for ebay I listed 45 items of DS WWE bits and made about 140 pounds so not to be sniffed at and whilst i appreciate it is a sin if you have any wool that you know you just wont use wool and patterns go like hot cakes!!!! even if its to get the money for more wool! and what makes DH and I laugh is the broken section - broken electrical items is my DH's favourite place to keep looking but people will pay silly money for broken bits and pieces that you may have considered throwing away. We have sold alsorts - eg card making bits and bobs, toys, mobile phones, car bits from DH - let us know if you do anything - if you want any help just pm me xxxx
dpixie - am so sorry to hear about Dh's relative - I can appreciate this as my friend is going through the same for relatives with alzeheimers - its now going to court and is horrendous situation - you just do not believe it could happen but am thinking it happens more than we would hope - thinking of you and I hope his migraine is better this morning - take care xxxx
thanks for all the advice on the body warmer if HAPPY CRAFTER can find the pattern I think i will have a crack at that - unfortunately kathy my attempts at crochet are errr hmmmm bad and its resulted in a flying hook and yarn
Not feeling particularly happy today - FIL told us yesterday he has prostrate cancer - he has had problems for years but has been having tests for this for a couple of months now and not told us - he goes next week for an MRI to see if has gone to the bones etc - he has asked us not to worry - life goes on etc - but you cant help worry and feel sad and I didnt say last time I posted but a cousin is very poorly after being told she has a "virus" for months only to find she needs a blood transfusion and an op and the "c" word has been talked about but just not sure yet - so all in all a worrying week.
Well i really had better crack on - am now starting to panic that my charity bits are non-existent this week - but first baby blanket finished hat to match half done - think I will get one of my homeless hats done next and that will make me feel better
Have a good day - hope the weather is better for you all - take careDebt Diary: Im not going to be an Ostrich anymore -LBM - 16/1/12 /0 -

Hope this pattern is ok
I love crochet now, and how fast it is to create an item!
There was no baby wool left in lidl when I went in, so treated myself to 2 packs of crochet hooks instead :j
I do have a friend looking in her local lidl for me this weekend.0 -
Good morning
Went to Lilds yesterday and got 2pks baby yarn, 1 pk scarf yarn and a big 400gm ball of multi coloured yarn :j Which should keep me quiet for a while.0 -
Thank goodness this week is ALMOST over, it got worse by the day!
HAPPYCRAFTER - thanks for the heads up on the wool - I did manage to relieve Lidl of three of their HUGE balls of wool bluemix, pinkmix and brown mix, four balls of cotton but think that the girsl on the tills got the best of the pick.
F1 so sorry to hear what your FIL has in store for him, sending you love and hugs to pass on to him. With the sinus/headache stuff I use Tiger balm to clear mine (rather than pills) you might want to have a go. I also burneucalyptus oil in the burners during the day which helps. Not sure about your leg/foot tho - I do have a sharp knife and could just cut it off (What my daddy used to say to us as kids when we complained of a scratch) ha ha
DPIXIE - look up here for materials- my local one is pants, but the one an hour and half away is fantastic, you might be lucky

Hi all
Having picked the brains of the techies on the techie forum I've just downloaded a new browser. Firefox has kept crashing on me ever since my AVG Anti Virus updated. It's nearly driven me mad and has taken up a lot of my time today. I hope normal service will be resumes asap!
Jean - I think bad weeks must be catching over here!
Will call back when I am up and running properly!

kathy - we run firefox and avg I will see if DH knows of any problem solving xxx
I had the good fortune of running my beady eyes over a Debbie Bliss Baby Blankets and teddies book today- ooooooooooooooo i was drawling - the debbie bliss pattern books are a joy they are such nice looking books - my neighbour is leading me astray - no longer do i look at bargain wool but the really expensive stuff (well expensive for me)
