Evening all.
Been a bloomin` wet weekend here for sure. Piddling rain all day and night as well. BUT the snowdrops are blooming just outside my back door and the daffy shoots are poking up as well :j Spring might be around the corner after all. Well we can dream can`t we ??
Umm, you know I said in my last post that Lidl didn`t have any baby wool ? Weellllll, had to pop in today for my fruit and veg as I wanted to make some soup and guess what - they had some baby wool !!
So purely for the purpose of research (for anakat) I had a wee feel to see how thick/soft it was. Luvvverly it is. Just right for little peoples wooly wear :T. They had pink, blue, mint and a purpley sort of colour. No, I have enough for little people just now.
Met an old friend and spent ages chatting to her then wandered round the corner and blow me - 2 packs of the purpley stuff hopped into my trolley shouting "we`ll make a lovely jumper for you, treat yourself for a change".Couldn`t very well refuse as folk were watching
Off to do a bit more of my twirly scarf..............or maybe start my jumper

HI everyone
Welcome to Katali - great to have you with us and I hope you enjoy it here!
ISOM - thanks for pointing Katali in the right direction for all the info!
Well, I've just seen DH off the premises - he's helping someone dig a trench in the garden which he thinks should take a morning but, as the whole of our area is built on granite, it might take a bit longer!
As always, I have errands to run this morning - I need to buy some more grout and tile adhesive (boy, this is such an exciting life I lead!), then I will come back and devote myself to the update. I still only have two hats to add to mine, but I've started another one! I just wish the passage of time would slow down a little.
Lovely and sunny here today but rain is forecast for the rest of the week.
Hope you are all having a good Monday.
Thanks for all your lovely totals!
See you a bit later on!

Monday again, I`m sure there`s more than one every week.
Mioliere - you sure live the high life doncha ?? Tile adhesive and grout -wow. Make sure you don`t get tooooo excited about that. No boring stuff like wool on tour shopping list ??:)
katali_d - welcome. I always do my squares 8" usually in double knitting, any colour that`s available in the stash, plain or patterned.
Had a look on LH but couldn`t see anything about squares either, but Lou does still take them. They are made up into blankets, ponchos, capes, jumpers etc. You name it and it can probably be made up out of squares.
Jean - loving the boobs :T.
:hello: to all newbies, `oldies`, mia`s and poorlies. And anyone else I`ve missed. Back later.

link above explains where the squares are intended for, sizes - isn't an issue....smaller ones (6") upwards. example 3 x 9" squares wide for a single bed. You don't need to sew them as LH have sewers to make them into blankets. Any colour dark ones, mixed colours are made into pet beds or squares 14" that's a cat blankie, I see PSSO got there first...I need to type quicker.
sending loving vibes to everybody for this week....it can only be better than my last week, am heading to the city to do some shopping Wednesday......WOOHOO, so will be making LISTS of STUFF - you know the sort of things, buttons, material, wool, etc etc Lunch out am I making this sound terrific? IT WILL BE.
Off to continue a bit of sewing back a bit later

Hi Elaine
No, no wool on the list. They do sell it here but it's very expensive, limited in colour and ply, there are not many places to buy it, and the quality is poor compared to the UK. The only wool outlet here is part of a very snooty boutique; all the wool is arranged so that the ball bands match and you feel you just can't fondle it! Next month I will be visiting my favourite wool shop back in the UK, and they will happily let me fondle the wool, hold it up to my cheek to check it's nice for babies, take it outside the shop to check the shade in daylight, talk to me about it, ask me what I'm making, tell me what's on sale, and more or less be the lovely ladies that they are! I really can't wait; it's turned into one of the highlights of my trips back!
Jean - I've emailed you about the spready!
