morning everyone - the sun is shining again and i am happy as larry. the washing is in the machine and i will hang it out asap so that it can get maximum drying time.

kathy, i am so envious of your farm - it sounds lovely. i was just telling my OH's uncle (who is about 85 and moving to france on his own in a few months) how you take for granted the things you use every day and expect to find here. Porridge oats was one that was a problem for me, the neighbours howled with laughter when i told them that i ate it for breakfast - they thought that just horses ate oats.

socky - hang in there, i cannot imagine what you are going through, but it sounds really tough.

isom - well done on the body warmer. if kathy, jean and i did live closer, it would be a problem as i would be around theirs every day with another question and asking for lessons in improving my knitting/crocheting and also getting sewing lessons. i am determined to master the sewing machine and i would love to make some little lavender sachets with all the lavender we have here.

    happy belated birthday anakat!

oh well, off to shovel some more poo onto our veggie patch, my muscles are aching, but its either that or doing the shopping!

    have a wonderful day

Foggy here today but managed to get up in time to welcome lads come to remove dead ivy, do paintwork around windows and restain frames and door at the front of the house.
Productive day yesterday - gathering after funeral of friend's stepfather, little shopping, collected library book and knitting club in the evening. Thanks to ISOM for kind lift and organising another good meeting. We missed January due to Bank Holidays etc so much chat and admiring of new projects, and much having to redo that bit as we failed to concentrate!
Very packed day for me so physically exhausted but mentally wired - in that not at all useful but keeps you awake sort of a way. SO very proud to have been up and dressed this morning!
Might even celebrate by tackling some washing up this morning and then plan to have a very quiet afternoon - perhaps a nice film and some knitting. (Very naughty treat, I usually won't allow myself daytime telly for fear it becomes a habit and I end up doing even less!)
  • Sorry, I am missing birthdays, people who are unwell, those that struggle with day to day things, I am a complete mess - I blame the Camper and the Husband......GGGRRRR
We have matriculated 4 cars and a camper in France and not one of them has caused as much trouble as this one. Paperwork galore and still not got it all. So I have taken the afternoon off to see if I can do a face to face with the prefecture and sort it. It's an hour down to Vannes, oh search for a parking place ha that's a joke, then no doubt another hour in the queue - lord help me if I forget just one piece of paper; I shall remain calm tho' throughout.

you just have to work you how to thread the machine now (sorry I couldn't resist that one).
We are in low cloud today and it certainly doesn't look like it will ever lift, so will quickly grab a cuppa and a sandwich and get away to Vannes. Hope to call back again soon and catch up with you all properly. Love and huge cuddles to everybody

    Hi everyone

Such a hectic manic day yesterday at the farm that I was totally cream-crackered by the time I got back. Have to go out this morning but I hope to get back to normal some time this afternoon. Will get the update done, too.

Jean - I don't envy you with all the red tape to negotiate today. I'm sure you've taken everything you think you need but, as you know, the French have that oh-so-irritating way of asking you for the one piece of paper that you are sure they won't need! Good luck and I hope you get somewhere!

Well, I must dash and I will catch up with you all later.

hi all, meeting on monday didnt go as expected, daniel has been discharged from mental health, as his problems arnt serious enough??
#on the positive side, a lady who i was introduced to thru another mum, knows disability laws inside and out, and is prepared to fight for help and services thru social services. at the moment apparently social sercvices in wakefield are breaking the law by not providing respite for those that need 24 hour care, she said it was no wonder i'm as stressed as i am after not getting any time off apart from school hours.

on the knitting front, i've learned how to graft the toe of a sock instead of the 3 needle cast off:T
and i've just started a new pair with a picot edge.
on nthe charity side, i have a preemie cross over cardi on the needles

    hugs all
