    HI everyone

DPixie - welcome back; hope you had a good time! I'm fine, thanks, just wishing it would get warmer but, having said that, I think it was colder where you are than it was here last night. I have a BIL in the south of France and he said it was -4 there last night. Before I moved here, I would not have believed how cold it gets!

Shaz - hope things are a bit better for you now. I wish we could be there for you. Sending lots of hugs to you.

F1 - your DH saying he's the one making the loom hats? Cheek!

Well, I'm still making baby hats in between everything else, like running around this morning looking for drill bits in the local DIY. How very interesting!

I've made six blue baby hats (up until yesterday) and now I've started on pink ones and, once I've made six of those, I will do a bit more on a cardi for the new baby.

ISOM - I feel a bit daft (nothing unusual in that!). I finished a cat square ages ago and I've just noticed it sat on the table next to my desk - I promise I will get it in the post to you the next time I go out!

Well, the kettle is boiling so I'm off to make a cuppa.

Hugs to Maytaurus and Mrs MW.

HI everyone, I've had quite a good day today, we even went to the supermarket. I'm not supposed to go to places where there are a lot of people because I have to avoid getting infections, but I get so fed up not going out except to the hospital. Anyway I went to Sainsburys and treated myself to a lovely cardigan and some pyjamas. I seem to spend most of my time in pyjamas these days.
Shaz, I'm so sorry that you are having so much trouble with Josh. I did mean to invite you over for a natter and cup of tea but unfortunately I can't do that now.
I should go to bed, I'm very tired but I'm getting anxious about seeing the consultant in the morning before I have my treatment. My lovely GP gave me Diazepam to take when I wake up tomorrow to try to calm me down a bit. I just get so frightened.
    Love to all.

    Hi everyone

Shaz - I'm so pleased that things are a little better, but I wish you could get the proper help and support that you need and deserve. You have a lot on your shoulders.

MrsMW - it's lovely to hear from you. I'm glad you had a good day. I know you said you shouldn't really go to busy places but you do need to get out and about for the sake of your mind, if nothing else. It's good that you were able to treat yourself to some new things, too. I'm sorry to hear how frightened you are; it's perfectly understandable. I hope the Diazepam helps. Hope you have a good day today.

F1 - your fresh goodies sound lovely! OUr friends who own the farm up the road came round last week and brought us some fresh eggs and they were delicious! You just can't beat eggs newly-laid that morning, can you? As for the hats, they are only baby ones that take about fifteen minutes to crochet (the pattern is for 'ten minute' hats but that's pushing it!), but they don't need sewing up, they just need the ends sewing in. They're the sort of thing that you can pick up and put down, you don't have to concentrate on the pattern once you've made a couple, and they're easy to take out and about to do if you get stuck in a waiting room somewhere (or outside a DIY shop while a DH takes hours looking at planks of wood!). I've done four pink hats now, and one pair of pink booties. I shall make booties to match all the other hats, too, then get them sent off to Lou once I've got twelve 'sets' done.

Well, yesterday was one of those irritating days because I had to go out in the morning, and I was hoping to get everything on my list done but I ran out of time simply because everything closes from 12noon until 2pm for lunch, so I had to go back out in the afternoon. Today, I am determined not to have to go out at all!

I spoke to my sister last night. BIL is doing really well at the moment, and is not feeling unwell at all, even though he is still very thin and weak. He is eating and sleeping well, and the jaundice has almost completely gone. He's even talking about going fishing next week, which is a miracle. My sister won't let him go on his own for obvious reasons, but that's understandable. He's due for another visit to the hospital this week; at the moment, they just live from one appointment to the next, but my sister says that they are both feeling positive and they even actually almost forget it all sometimes. They have lots of visitors which helps a lot because he is very sociable - they were worried that people would avoid them because they wouldn't know what to say to him, but that's not been the case at all.

I hope you all have a great day.

Kinsey - they'll find out on Friday, I think, when they visit the hospital. They are a lovely couple and they shouldn't be going through all this. My sister has osteoarthritis and other problems, and she hasn't been well for a long time. She finds it difficult to move around and BIL used to do all the cooking, so she's found it really hard. I think they're sharing the chores now that he's feeling a lot better. She is due to have a brand new injection to help ease the pain she's in, and she's being visited on Wednesday by a nurse who will show her how to inject herself; she's not looking forward to that very much but she knows it will be worth it if it works, so we're keeping fingers crossed for them both now. The good thing is that, having spoken to them last night, they are both in good spirits, which I found really uplifting; it makes things seem less bleak - whatever happens, they are making the most of their days.

Well, DH has now started the plasterboarding in the back bedroom, having spent the last three days putting up battens - the ceiling is in the eaves, and nothing's straight, so it's been a real challenge preparing it all. Hopefully, the hardest part has been done and the boarding will go up smoothly; I'm on standby to help hold the boards in place while he screws them down. Meanwhile, the ironing is calling me so I'd better go and get that done - I've been putting it off for days but can do that no longer!

A daunting thought having to inject yourself, but I guess plenty of people do it so it mustn't be too difficult and you'd quickly get used to it, not really something I'd choose to get used to though, coward that I am.
Think I'd prefer plasterboarding to ironing given the choice :)
