Hi everyone
As most of you know, Jean (roamin in the gloamin) has devised the fantastic spreadsheet on which our running totals are kept well and truly up to date. This has made life a lot easier for me, and ensured that mistakes are few and far between and, that when they do occur, they are my fault but can easily be put right!
Anyway, Jean has now revamped the spreadsheet so that it is all new and shiny for 2011 AND (because she is so clever with all things technical) she has opened a new blog for me just for the update. You can find this simply by clicking into my name at the side of any of my posts on here, and going to my 'homepage'.
The new blog, Knit Your Square, is solely for the update. It means that you can all access it straightaway, and be able to check your own figures, see the running totals for each item, and so on. This will make it a lot easier for everyone, especially me! I have copied and pasted the info post from here (page 95, post 1885) with links to MSE and Loving Hands, so you will see that at the side of the spreadsheet on the blog. Anything else that may be added as time goes by will be dedicated to our thread on here, so you won't have to wade through other things just to find the spreadsheet.
Thank you so much, Jean, for all your hard work AND for your technical expertise when I have struggled to get things to work! The new spreadsheet and the blog will be great for everyone here and make it so much easier for us all to keep completely up to date.
For all newbies: You will see that we add our own running totals to our sigs AND post them on here once a week (usually on a Sunday ready for adding to the spreadsheet on the Monday). You will see that we do the figures in bold red which makes it so much easier to add to the update and ensures that nothing is missed. If anyone's figures are posted incorrectly at any time, please post on here and it will be put right asap.
Thanks to Jean, and to all of you for all your hard work and generosity in making this thread the success that it is, AND for helping all those who are in need. This is a wonderful place full of lovely people, and I am happy to be part of it!
Have a great day!

Hi Jean
No, I did go to bed, honest, but I was up early so spent about an hour on it. It was easy - you had already done the difficult bits! I'm glad you've had a chance to check that it all works! It will make things easier for everyone. Thanks again! Looking forward to your big fat post later on! I'm baking and cleaning this morning (yawn, but we have to eat and we have to avoid disease) then I hope to get some spare time this afternoon to do a bit of crochet.
It is very very cold here today. We had a dusting of snow last night but it's nowhere to be seen this morning, thankfully. Hopefully, it's warm wherever you are.

Just had a look at the new blog mioliere, isn't roamin clever and multi-talented. It's all very easy now. Sorry to hear you had snow, but please don't send it this way. Temperature is 1 degree0

Hi everyone.
Kinsey - yes, Jean is brilliant. The new blog and spreadsheet are going to be the perfect way to keep tabs on all our totals.
Talking about the spreadsheet and the running totals, I wanted to say that if anyone makes anything for any charity, feel free to add it here. It doesn't have to be items that are sent to the charities we already send to. For instance, if someone sends something they have made to their local hospital, say, or a charity in their own area, it still counts here. I know that some people have their own personal favourite charities and it doesn't matter where stuff is sent, it can still be added here!
On the same note, if anyone has a particular charity that they want to mention, please feel free to post it here, along with details of what is needed. In fact, a lot of the things we make have come about because people have found good causes.
And again on that note - we always welcome links to new patterns, tutorials, and so on.
Please don't forget to post your totals in red bold - I'd hate to leave anyone out!
Still very cold here, but the sun is shining so it looks warm!

Hi peeps
Very cold here today its freezing my little tootsies off I only went outside to empty the bin...soon came back in brrr.
My cold is on it's last legs now and is leaving me with a nose like :rudolf:don't quite glow in the dark though :rotfl:
I managed to finished the doll for Mums friend did'nt look too bad in the end, seemed to go on forever but never mind as long as she likes it. I will put a pic on here in a bit.
I made a start on the jumper for my great nephew last night for world book day in March, so that gives me plenty of time, I will be working on it ad hoc as my hands are playing up a bit so I am swapping to crochet for a while, I'll do a few squares for MrsTwins and use some odd bits of wool up.
Jean - well done with the spreadsheet :T just had a dekko, must have taken ages,
dpixie - good luck with all that trimming, hope you reach your target
kathy - I'll go along with that, men are champion natterer's and they all deny itDid they manage to get things finished yesterday?
Just a few words......I think we all feel the same about this thread it is something quiet special to us all, no nastiness, no arguments,no judgements just an easy banter, a good old natter, and a helping hand along the way, above all caring like minded friend's.
Long may we continue to do our bit for those in need and all the charities we support :A
