Hi all,
Yes Mrs mp the books arrived safely and have read first one !! Sent a pm the day they arrived and one to Pippa S as well ? Had a message saying my inbox was full so deleted a pile of rubbish - maybe yours went with it:o:o instead of coming to you - sorry.
Bright but very windy here today. I like to see the sun but it`s a wee bit difficult just now - my windows are filthy but it`s too cold to go out and clean them - so it`s `dappled sunshine` in my living room just now;)
Well, as predicted, I`ve run out of the multicoloured wool I was knitting into a hat, so I`m trying to decide if I can get away with doing the last bit with plain toning-ish wool or if I should go and get another ball of the multi stuff. Hmmmm, do you think the kids who get these hats etc mind if they are a bit- odd - shall we say ? Do they have street cred to ruin ??
Suppose I`d better go and do something about the house****.
Still have a pile of `stuff` in the corner of the bedroom to sort through and have 3 little girls coming on Friday to try on flowergirl dresses, who will need to see themselves in the long mirror.
Have a good day.

HI everyone
Seakay - thanks for telling us about ISOM. Hope things are OK with you.
Glad to have you back, ISOM! Hope you can stay online!
Salome - please feel free to add your totals to our update; anything that is for charity or fund-raising for charity is welcome!
Elaine - hope it warms up there soon. It's freezing cold here, too! It hasn't gone above freezing for about five days now!
Mrs Moneypenny - hope things get less anxious for you soon.
Jean - any news from DH about a purchase?
Well, I've heard from Mrs Twins. WE had added 50 completed SIBOL blankets to our update, but the number is actually 52 now, which is incredible. I've updated the spreadsheet to show her new total.
Well, off to buy some milk - need to keep those cuppas coming!

Hello Everyone!
I must tell you all.
I have just picked up a copy of 'Yours' here in the UK.
On page 12 there is an excellent two page piece on Lou Jaap.
Loving Hands.
It's an excellent piece, lovely photo of her, and telling you all about her wonderful work for charities!
So please go out and buy one.
Only £1.40 which really is quite reasonable for the magazine.
I wouldn't want anyone to miss it.
On a personal note/SIBOL related.
I'm very pleased to say that a Letter I sent up to 'Let's Get Crafting' in the shops now,
has been printed.
My aim was to try and reach the 'star letter' prize of £50.00 Hobby Craft vouchers, ooh goodness just think of the wool there that
could have been bought. Unfortunately I didn't quite get there, but good news was that my letter was printed and tellling everyone about
SIBOL.
The last copy I actually won two tickets to Hobby Craft Show/Sewing for Pleasure in March.
So...I can't complain.....
Mr. Twins is coming with me. Or he is.....? He'll keep an eye on the money if he comes so I might have to re-think that one!
ha.ha.
But anyway, in the 'Let's Get Crafting' magazine there are free gifts. yarn etc.,
In the shops now along with 'Yours'.
Excellent article about Lou
She tells how Loving Hands was started and how she 'blogged' about it. We've all been there!
How it became so...popular!. It definitely is worth a read.
Bye for now everyone!
Thanks by the way for adding our 'Sunshine Blankets' to your tally
Hugs suex0 -
hello all. sorry that i have been off again, but i have been having very intimate conversations with him upstairs on the big white telephone. (we went out on saturday night and were offered some soup - with some stock bones in it - and then some pork scratching looking things - i didn't want to be rude, so, even though i have been veggie for 20 years, i had some - very very very bad idea. my poor tummy did not know how to process it and it just stayed there until i did the big white phone thing - not very nice at all!
other than that, i did my make my total, but then was a little dashed when the gardener said that he had planted 800, not 600 as the plants were very small. oh well, its just too cold at the moment (the thermometer has not risen above 0 degrees at all today or for the last few days) and i will just have to schedule in some more days and use the strimmer or something larger than i have been using.
on the crochet front, i am doing okay, have finished another couple of baby cardies, i will update my total on sunday, if thats okay Kathy? by the way how is your BIL - i am still keeping him in my thoughts.
isom - hope that you are able to get your modem sorted soon.
i was very disappointed to read on one of the blogs that i get each week that one of the ladies that belonged to various threads on MSE was going to close her account on here permanently as she had encountered so much nastiness on each of the threads that she partook in - i did suggest that all threads are not the same, but to be honest, there are only two that i have come across on all the things that i partake in that are not mean. there is one where they have actually banned some of the people as they are so mean! how crazy is that?
oh well, i think its time to pull my chair up in front of the fire and get the crocheting out - hope you dont mind.
speak soon

Hello everyone, Happy February.
Lots of interesting chat today, hope you are well and coping mrs moneypenny.
dpixie what pattern are you using for crochet baby cardis?
I'll be out tomorrow so will look for magazines, ooh lovely.
Love to everyone xxx0 -
Hope you're feeling better soon dpixie. Can't believe the industrial quantities of lavender that you have! I would definitely go for an electric strimmer!
I ventured onto what I thought would be a happy gardening thread the other day - mostly nice but one or two put me right off - they just used every post to be unpleasant and argumentative in the worst way and without any regard to the subject of the thread and without 'listening' to anyone else so that they were not only nasty but nonsensical! I don't know what sort of perverted pleasure people get out of being like that and as long as I can take steps to avoid them I don't really care. I'm sticking to OS from now on!
Thinking of you Mrs Moneypenny - hope that the MRI is not too traumatic and brings good news
Thanks for the info, Mrs Twins and congrats on the latest blankets0 -
Hi all
Its been lovely and sunny here today and not quite as cold as it has been, daffs are poking their heads through and the buds are on the Forsythia, so Spring is definitely on it's way, and my nose has gone from red to pink so my cold's on its way as well
psso - I havent received a PM so it maybe it went the same way :rotfl:Was it about books? I don't think the kids who get the hats would mind at all they will be only too happy to get a hat
mrs-mp - hope all goes well with the MRI.There is another saying as well, "God never sends you more than your shoulders can bear"one of my Grandmother's saying's
kathy - oops sorry but my figures are wrong, I have'nt done any adult hats yet only baby hats, so my total for them should be 20 not 19I think it's a good idea adding all the small hats together, Preemies/baby/child beanie in one total, then we could maybe have Adults/Sailors hats in one total as well.
ISOM - O good I'm glad they arrived, will do some more soon.Hope you'll be back online soon
dpixie - I hope you feel a bit better now. Had my head bitten off once some time ago so I am very wary now.
MrsTwins - I will go to the shops tomorrow and get a copy thanks for letting us know.
Well the Wally jumper is coming along nicely I've finished the back and made a start on the front, so I should get it finished in good time.
Had a look through some really old patterns last night and found a nice bootee pattern they are like little boots so might give them a go
Must be off so enjoy your evenings all
Anne
