    Post 226? SPAM ???

    Reported.

Nice to see the spam post removed. I like a bit of spam but prefer it between 2 slices of bread with some chutney, not on here.

While I`m here, does anyone else get annoyed by the advert thingys down the side overlapping the posts, or is it just my computer that does this ? Sometimes have to guess what has been written as it gets covered up - that`s why I had to put 226? as I couldn`t see if there were any more numbers. Wonder how I can get rid of it ?

Mrs Moneypenny - just scooted back to see what was happening......rotten consultant they make you so mad, think themselves demigods - just drop it into the conversation and leave you all up in the air wondering what the heck is going on. I am certain that you will be fine...it was probably a spec of dust on his monitor, from what I hear they don't clean hospitals that well these days. Big calming deap breaths and back to your own GP with any questions written down on a piece of paper, that way you will get all the answers. Your boys situation - could they stay at Grandmas? Or post them to me I will have them for the summer - they might come back dirty tho'. If you need us we are here for you.

Morning all - crisp but bright here this morning - Im in a panic as Nan and Aunt are coming over (first time Aunt been and im worried its not clean and tidy enough!)

Mrs M - oh such a time for you - im sure everything will be ok - bad Drs worrying you like that - you hear so much of Drs saying flippant comments or wrong info it makes me  - if i was nearer I would take you and your lovely boys in whilst you have the work done - take good care - we are all hear if you want need us xxxx

thank you for your kind comments re hat - i put the pic on LH as well as one of the members there wants to try "looming" and everyone has commented on the colour - it was a gift from a friend (i knit the OCC hats for her mums church) - it was for the grandkids but she was told they dont want knitted anymore so she sent it to me - which was lovely of her - so I have quite a lot of pink and blue chunky - ideal for the hats

Right im off - quick pit stop now DS has gone off to school and back to the hoovering me thinks - have a good day love to all xxx

Morning all - well it was when I started typing up this post !!!

Cold and drizzly here f1 so you`ve definitely got better weather than me. If Auntie doesn`t like the state of your house she doesn`t have to come back. I always say if all folk do when they come to visit is criticise, they can just push off - :p. Loved the loom hat by the way. Was it easy to do and how quickly did it grow ? Can you tell that I`m impatient and like things which don`t take too long.

 Hi anakat, nice to see you`ve come out of lurkdom. Don`t be shy just come and join our merry band - and any others lurkers too, you`ll all be made welcome.
Could the site you are looking for be Preemies uk ? Shezmit (Shelley) who runs it needs angel pockets and tiny teds I think. The other group we do a lot for is Loving Hands and they always need both items, so take your pick which one you want to support - or spread your talent and send some things to each of them.

Jean - the dresses are just great. It would take me a week to just thread the machine properly, never mind cut out and sew up. Talented lady indeed. I`m sure I have some redundant bedding I could send you if you are short of stash

Mrs moneypenny - deep breaths and relax. Easy for us to say but try not to worry. Hopefully all will be well and the scans will be fine. Drs can be so thoughtless and the higher up the `ladder` they are the worse they get. Sometimes feel like giving them a slap to bring them down to earth with the rest of us mere mortals.
By the way a good blubber will do you the power of good - take it from one who knows ;) - you`ve had a lot to cope with lately and you are bound to be feeling stressed. ((hugs))

Right off to have lunch and tidy up a bit, groan, I`m on babysitting duty tonight :T as DD has her work`s Christmas `do` so if little J decides to snooze I`ll get some knitting done. I`ve finished the top I was doing, even sewed the buttons on so it`s ready to put in the bag for LH. What to do next I wonder ?? Think I`ll just have a look at the stash and see if inspiration strikes, sometimes a particular colour just shouts "use me for XXXXXXX" or am I just strange ?? No don`t answer that :rotfl:.

    See ya later,

  • thank you all for the lovely kind things you have said about the VON TRAPP FAMILY FROCKS (same material - different sizes) have sewed another four today and just done cutting out five more for tomorrow - providing DH doesn't want me to assist with any of his little jobs. Go on Anne get the machine out and have a go.....oh sing happy birthday from me, as well as have my share of the birthday cake (s?).I have knocked off early, as it was getting decidedly chilly in the sweatshop and have rewarded myself with a glass of wine, think I am entitled.
Lovely to see you have stopped the lurking Anakat, as PSSO says either Preemies or Loving Hands would love your contributions.
Kinsey I have to say my wool isn't speaking to me at all - think its taken the hump and gone off in a huff....not surprising as its been wee cup cakes for over a week on the knitting machines and boring old squares for a blanket on the knitting needles, sulking no doubt because I am on the sewing machines!
Righty OH I am off for a soft seat and this glass of wine, back tomorrow some time hope you all have a great weekend whatever you are getting up to.

Apologies if this has been explained (I did do a search on the thread for loom) but what is loom knitting? Is it like a giant version of knitting Nancy/French knitting?
I loved the hat but coulldn't find out more about how to do it.

    Hi everyone

Cool but sunny and dry today, although we had a very hard frost first thing this morning.

Anakat - lovely to have you with us. Have a look at page 95 on this thread, post 1885 - it will tell you exactly what we do, and there are links, too. I see PSSO and Roamin in the Gloamin have pointed you in the right direction for the teds and angel pockets.

Mrs MP - it's been a stressful time for you lately. It's a shame that we aren't all closer to each other so that we could help out in some way. I often think that; there are times when each of us could do with some help - either a shoulder to cry on or practical help. The scan is bound to be a worry but my mum heard the doctors discussing a 'shadow' on an x-ray years ago which, when she finally questioned them about it, turned out to be nothing out of the ordinary at all.

Jean - I love the name you've given to your gorgeous dresses! I can't believe you have a production line up and running so quickly! Me? DH has started the dreaded plasterboarding again, this time in the back bedroom - I was rather hoping that France had run out of plasterboard by now! I've been helping him (in the grumbly way that I've perfected!) - I can tell you, there's nothing more irritating than holding up sheets of plasterboard using your head while DH hunts for his screws and screwdriver! I've actually had work of my own to do this afternoon - to a deadline, too, but he seems oblivious to that!

F1 - I hope the visit went well.

Pippa - three years old already? I can hardly believe it! Please give him a birthday hug from me!

Well, I've nearly finished my crochet cardi for the new baby, and I've also done two preemie hats but I won't add them until the end of the week when I hope to have made some more.

By the way, Jean, I've printed off your instructions for uploading the spready to my blog and will definitely work on it all tomorrow. The time has run away with me this week.

Everyone - Jean has devised a wonderful new update spreadsheet for us and, at her suggestion, I've started a new blog just for the update. I'm having a few teething problems with it all but I will devote some proper time to it tomorrow, then let you all know when it's up and running. The idea will be to be able to find the update easily without having to wade through other stuff. Also at Jean's suggestion, I will add the updates for 2009 and 2010, so that all the updates will be in the same place. Jean - take a bow and a gold star!

I've been wondering what toys to make for my grandchildren as Easter presents (yes, I know I'm jumping ahead!) because a) I can't find decent Easter eggs here b) if I could find any, they'd probably break in the post, and c) my DGD doesn't like chocolate. My DGS (who was 11 yesterday, bless him!) loves ring-tailed lemurs but the only crochet pattern I've found I don't really like. I've found a knitted one but knitting is too painful for me these days, so I found a crochet pattern for Sackboy which I'll do instead. My DGS is easier -she loves pandas! Haven't decided what to do for Summer - maybe a teddy. They all had bunnies last year.

Anyway, I'm waffling and I could do with a cuppa!
