  • Frocks will be going via Loving Hands to various countries. Patterns from the childrens section (free patterns) that's the two cream DORMA DOUBLE DUVET frocks- well spotted Seakay. I will use practically anything material wise that I can lay my hands on. Little one is the Vivienne Toddler Jumper and the other is the Popover Sundress. You do need to sign in for the downloads but there are loads, adults children etc. Check the sizes and seam allowance before you cut out tho'

The little purple number came from a link on this site below instructions on the site with a link through to the toddler size pattern PDF, which is the one I did, I only lined the top and I wouldn't use as much width of material on the bottom of the dress in future. I will pleat the next skirt bit (well the machine will as it does that for me)

The idea is that I get a frock that is quickly and easily made, with no zips to break or buttons to fall off etc Think everyone can tie a knot or a bow, so I should be safe with that.

  • Welcome Frugal brunette - lovely to see you! lovely to see you back happycrafter! Alas im not much help as new to crochet and knitting but am ok with basics and will help when i can!
Evening all...sorry been awol..been busy with work, helping mum with her pampered chef eve on Mon so having a night at home tonight and missing home group.
Good to hear news re BIL Miol...and re the progress and nice visit!
Sorry to hear that Edna (for the newbies Edna is Ead in a bucket = feeling rubbish!) that has been visiting people again...hugs from me as its not nice feeling like that. Spring on the way so shes less likely to visit soon!
Had an "unfortunate" incident with some sugar free sweets yesterday...most embarassing as literally had to run to the loo three times on a visit and then mad dashes on the way home!! Never again although the advantage is that no calories could have stuck!!
Hooky wise have been totally useless and mojo is awol as well. Not worried as know it will return soon...
Love the dresses roaming!Cant believe how quickly you do them!

    HI all.

Jean - I am amazed at those stunning dresses and how quickly you can run them up! They really are gorgeous and the perfect way to re-use duvet covers! I'm so glad that Edna has finally decided to give you a break!

ISOM - hope you are finding time to relax. Sounds like you've been really busy!

Happycrafter - there are lots of free online tutorials for crochet (and probably tatting, too) - just google 'crochet tutorials' and you should find plenty. Crochet always seems difficult but it is really easy, I promise! Glad your cough is getting better.

Pippa - my motivation seems to disappear often these days; I think it's because sometimes there is so much going on that it's difficult to make myself concentrate on one thing at a time. Heaven only knows how I coped with working outside the home AND looking after children! It's hard enough now with working from home, and the children all grown up with homes of their own! Of course, my advancing years don't help!

Well, I have a newborn cardi on one hook for the new baby and preemie hats on another hook, and I will try not to start something else until I have finished the cardi and half a dozen hats!

Hope you are all having a good evening.

Morning ladies - just popped on quick otherwise i will never get started to show you my first loom hat - hoop 9.5" - I think I have a medium(ish) head and it feels a bit tight and maybe needs to be a little longer - so will put it in my Xmas Box Appeal or LH box I think - I dont think its big enough for an adult - just not sure - what do you think

By the way roamin those dresses are delightful and if I lived near you and had a little girl i would be paying you for one - well done xxxx

    lovely hat F1
glad your BIL is doing well
lovely to hear chalky is having a good time
ive just started a premie hat but flitting between crossstitch at the mo, i came across all my stitching stash at christmas and was very embarrassed by how much ive amassed and the fact i havent touched it for ages:o so since christmas ive finished a 1/2 started picture that was earmarked as a gift for someone 2 years ago. (they can have it next chrsitmas ive it gets framed) and ive made 3 mothers day cards from kits id got tucked away so its sort of money saving meets clutter busting. just started a little valentive stitch for DH that i hope to turn into a card.
had a phone call to say someone is round monday to discuss the work schedule re the subsidence weve had. problem will be that its both boys room AND the hall stairs and landing as well as outside brickwork repointng etc that needs working on so ive got to try and find somewhere to store all the boys stuff and move all the cupboards bookcases shoe racks etc from the hall while the work is done. Has anyone got a tardis i can borrow. and thats not even beginning to think about where the boys will sleep for the duration of the work:eek:.
if anyone has a few spare hours id love some more time in my days so ill willingly take it off your hands.

hugs and kind thoughts to all

mrs moneypenny, oh my goodness, how are you going to manage? Will the work take long?

honest answer to both questions is "i dont know" if the weather picks up i could decamp the boys under canvas in the back grden for the duration of the work;)

i think the stress is beginning to get to me, yesterday i went drs over something thats been bothering me and ended up brusting into tears at the poor man. i dont think he knew quite what to do with me:o. he did his best to convince me ill be ok but hes asked me to go back and talk to him again. healthwise i think once ive had my second scan next week ill feel better (well depending on what they find) Dr was a bit annoyed that the consultant casually mentioned 'a shadow' and ive been festering over it but its not on any of the letters hes sent back to my drs. i feel better now the dr has pointed out if the consultant really thought i had something serious ive have been seen quicker.

Mrs moneypenny everyone I know who had what was thought to be a problem have been seen very quickly, indeed one was seen on the same day, so the fact that you have to have another scan suggests the first one might have been faulty, not you, the scan. I hope that's the case.
