hello everyone and a VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL (she shouts)

welcome to polly, as i am sure everyone will tell you, we love to have new people here.

was a very quiet night last night here in deepest darkest rural france, but hubby and i are going to make up for it tonight. i spent most of the night crocheting (whilst watching old prime suspect dvd's) and then went to bed with my new love... my kindle - as i read so much, it just makes sense for me to have this, especially when we travel (which we are going to be doing again shortly).

dreamyd (that should really be my name - it suits me to a t!) welcome, i am sure that you will have loads and loads of takers for your wool, and if you have any left, please let me know, as i will be more than happy to take some to this very happy home i have. i see that you are intending to declutter up to 100 items, what a fab idea.

    anyway, must go ...

    speak soon

    Hi everyone.

I've just typed up a long post to mark the start of another year on here, and it has disappeared so I need to do it all over again. That will teach me not to type it in Word first! I will try and re-do it later today or tomorrow morning.

Thanks to Dreamyd for such a generous offer. I have pm'd her a link to Loving Hands, but I expect there will be a few takers on here!

DPixie - it was so quiet here last night, too! I really missed seeing the new year in in that British way!

Will come back with my new year post asap!

hi dreamyd and polly to this thread, sure you will enjoy it here, as i have
kinsey, thanks enough for caring to do the 'mummy bit', i will be careful when i do meet him, and it will be a public space, i know what he looks like as we have chatted on skype a fair bit.
the argument with the friend, was nothing to do with how i was feeling about the boys. she said some very racist stuff, which i told her i didnt want to hear, and she carried on, making comments, i asked her to change the subject, and she got really personal and nasty, eg saying there was no such thing as ADHD, and its the way i brought my kids up that made them that way, and other petty stuff about my dad, my other friends etc, it was very upsetting, still is
knitting socks at mo, nice and easy, while boys at home, found a pattern for a little cardigan with bobbles and cables, going to attempt that next week, and if i get stuck hopefully somebody at craft groups will be able to show me
    hugs all

kathy - I know the feeling and the hold this, hold that "no not like that" is a familiar sound in our house, its what all these builders do, having been married to one for 43 years I am quite used to it now;):rotfl:

looking forward to a quiet night in front of the tv with my crochet tonight, have managed to use up a sizeable bag of odd balls on a small ripple blanket and a few squares for MrsTwins.

    Have a good evening all

Quick question - can you tell me is "chunky" machine knitting wool the same as normal hand knitting chunky - I know normal machine knitting wool is quite thin like 3ply/4ply - Ive seen some chunky machine knitting wool on ebay cheap and would be ideal for my hats

shezmit - lovely to see you back - I hope you dont mind me saying you sound stronger - Im sure this christmas has been so very hard for you and family but your mum sounded like a fighter and would want you to be the same - the tattoo is just grand - what would mum have thought to the "wings"? - so sorry to hear the knitting coming in has not met targets - I must try harder for you next year!!!! - once again lovely to see you back - take care you know we are always here xxxxxxx

Had better go and start making my way to bed - Im pooped today - late night last night and tidying up today - night night all xxxx

Shez great to see you back, and a beautiful memorium for your Mum. I'm going to show it to my DIL as she lost her Dad on Christmas day last year, and has been saying wanted 'something' done, she has a few tattoos already. I'm pleased you're going to keep up Preemies UK as well. Hope the counselling helps, as I keep saying to DIL, no one ever said there's a time limit on grief. Lots of love xxx
