Hi there, I have just found this thread. I love knitting and crochet, but haven't done any since I hurt my shoulder in the summer. I need to motivate myself to push through and start again. Your patterns sound just like the sort of thing that could be a 'quick' project, and the motivation I need.
So, may I join in? Thanks in advance, shall have to go and dust off the needles now!0 -
Welcome pollysg, hope your shoulder is a lot better now. For information look here

Good afternoon folks (well it is here), meant to get on a little earlier but you know how it is - STUFF seems to get in my way. Lovely to welcome pollysg, hope you find lots to keep you busy - I have made a solemn promise to start properly on the 4th January, when DS has gone back to the UK and I will have cleared the decks so to speak...well might still have a bit of laundry to do then but I certainly won't let it get in my way. So with a lovely new year ahead of us I shall be all fired up and raring to go (fingers crossed)

Hi everyone. A very Happy New Year to you all and a warm welcome to Pollysg - so glad that you have joined us! Thanks to Kinsey for pointing you in the right direction and, if you go back to page 95, post 1885, it will tell you exactly what we do. I hope you find lots of inspiration!
Pam - good to hear from you; I hope life is treating you well and that you had a good Christmas and New Year.
Shaz - I hope things work out for you, especially now that it's a brand new year.
ISOM - hope the effects of the Cava are not too strong!
Jean - you sound really positive! I hope not too much gets in the way but, somehow, it seems to here, doesn't it? It's a bank holiday so why am I washing out plastering buckets, and why have I been put on standby to hold the thing he carries the plaster on (while he leans dangerously across the landing resting his hand on a beam!)? I'd much rather be sat down watching Columbo, crocheting, and eating the rest of the Christmas choccies!

Hello everyone and A Happy New Year to you all.
I'm feeling a little better, and have managed to catch up on posts. I've missed a lot.
First, how lovely to hear from you Maytaurus, it gave me a lift just seeing your name.
mioliere sounds like an ideal adult Christmas, but you got back to reality quickly with plasterboard. When do you start your job at the farm cafe?
f1 widow pleased to hear you've been getting out, well done I hope you can keep it up.
Shaz, interesting news about meeting a new bloke at the end of January, but can I do the 'mummy' bit and just say be careful. Sorry you had row with your friend, could it be because you were stressed over the rows with your son? If you explain would it do any good?
As for your resolution to learn cables and bobbles, you make socks on four needles therefore you can do anything.
ISOM I do hope you have an easier year. How's your Mum? Gaspar is lovely, but doesn't look like he's up for a cuddle. What's Isoke's opinion?
mrsmoneypenny have you read any Susannah Gregory or Candace Robb? I think I've read all of Phillipa Gregory's books.
dpixie I had never heard of the Cave Bear books til they were mentioned on here, they're going on my Amazon wish list. How nice to have been out gardening. My garden certainly needs some tlc but at the moment it's so wet I would just make a worse mess, inside and out.
Pippa, santa brought me the set of bamboo needles, lovely man, so thankyou very much for your kind offer. I'll bet there's someone on here would be grateful for them though. Saying that, I have lots of normal pairs of needles spare if anyone needs any, just pm me.
MrsMW sorry to hear your news, keep us posted on how the chemo goes as and when you can.
prfungi how nice to hear from you, hope you're feeling a bit better.
roamin' my goodness you're always so busy it's a wonder you don't meet yourself coming back, please tell me the secret of where you get your energy from.
I've missed Chalky, but wish her a great time anyway.
Shez have been thinking of you, it must have been hard for you.
Well, I've missed all the festivities and didn't get over to see DS2 and family but all is not lost as I still have their pressies and will go over in a couple of weeks time. They've all had colds anyway as Katie brings them home from school and very kindly shares (she's four and a half). Even William had it quite badly and as he's too young for proper medicine had to go to the doctor, but he's a lot better now thank goodness.
Take care everyone xxx0 -
Good afternoon, I tend to lurk on this thread, but I am in the middle of a major declutter and that includes my wool stash. I'd like to donate what i don't need/want anymore to charity knitters. I've got a lot of DK of various types. If it is of use ot you,can anyone PM me? CheersSurviving the ups and downs of life with DH
