Oh Shaz -- So glad I popped on --- Happy, Happy Birthday! Please continue to look on the bright side and have a happy Christmas
Christening was absolutely gorgeous -- A tiny Devonshire village church then a lovely party in the village pub with a log fire -- first time we have felt warm since magic bus land xx
Love to one and all xxTry and do a good deed every day.0 -
chalky, the christeing sounds wonderful, ages since i've sat in front of a log fire, glad you finally felt warm

f1, i must have missed your post earlier, well done on getting out a bit more, i know how hard it is at times, well done
as for the socks, are you wanting to do them on 2 needles, or 4/5?
advantage of 4/5 is there is no sewing at the end :j:T:j:T
to start with if you are doing them on 5 needles as i do, is to buy the yarn, i'd recommend king cole zig zag, as it comes with a free pattern, that is eay, you may need to ask for it, but it is free
mnext i would cast all the stitches onto one needle first, then share them out between the 4 needles.
anything else, just give me a shout

Shaz - a very Happy Birthday to you and what a lovely day it has been for you!:bdaycake:
Chalky - the christening sounds wonderful! Loved the hat, snowman and book; what a lovely present for a new baby!
Pippa- talking of 'flu jabs, my Mum's the same and won't have them any more, despite what I say!
We've just been out to our nearest town to see all the Christmas lights - they looked lovely and really cheered me up. I'll try and post photos tomorrow if I have time; I've been asked to man the tearoom up at the farm at lunchtime, and don't know what time I'll finish. They've been so busy with Christmas orders and are rushed off their feet - which is good, really, but they look so tired, they'll be glad when it's all over.
Hope you are all having a good evening.

ISOM - trust me to get 2 posts mixed up:rotfl:
f1 - :T:T:Twell done on getting out and about, its nice to know you are settling down in your new house and new area.
chalky - ooo log fires theres nothing quite like them
kathy - I know, and if I do get a cold now she will say it's the flu jabs fault even though I had it a few weeks ago
kinsey - What a lovely thought, thank you so much the card is lovely :A
Started DGD2's neck/chest warmer last night I should get it done today and then I can post it off next week, as we wont be seeing them for a while now
I must go now OH is'nt feeling well today, he has stomach pains and just generally under the weather. but he's feeling the loss of his Mum, it will be the first Christmas without her, so I think that may have something to do with it.

SHAZ can you ever forgive me? I am so sorry I missed your birthday, please be like the Queen and have an unofficial one so that I can get in on the act. Seems you did manage a bit of you time with your mum and I just know that would always be lovely...so you have to make the most of those days.
ISOM glad your home safe and sound and no work....just relax and get ready for the onslaught that will be work in 2011.
F1 - I am so pleased to see that not only have you make pals with the next door neighbour knitting woman, she is also going to show you how to use a knitting machine AND you ventured out for walks around the village BIG GOLD STAR TO YOU, I am so happy for you, keep that up eh.
CHALKY the wee hat, snowman and book just look so sweet and the christening must have been a joyous occasion - bring on more of them PLEASE
MOILIERE - hope you are not too worn out by the teashop this afternoon although its always great to get out and about in "company", so even if the feet are aching bet you have some 'HAPPY MEMORIES' for the "future box".
PIPPA S.... you seem to be the only one still doing knitting and crochet.....I am trying really hard to finish off the tea cosy for my dear neighbour and as they are in Jordan till the new year I have a bit of leeway, but still need to get my finger out!
Kinsey - see you have had a bit of "stuff" happening around your way, so fingers crossed that it all just melts away like snow - not that its doing a great deal of melting at the minute.
OK Still have 44 cows, 1 billie bull, 9 chooks, 1 piglet, 2 dogs and 1 cat......missing is at least two cats and I haven't counted in my lot no doubt they will roll up when they are hungry. Oh selling eggs cos we have far too many to do any more with.......anybody want them sent just let me know.
If I have missed anyone I am extremely sorry, am a bit under the table with wine at present.....seems that's what I do best between my birthday and christmas - well thats what DH and DS have said, so I had better carry on with that.
Off to make Pizza dough and pizza for tea if I start now there is a slim hope it will be on the table prior to midnight. Ye all take great care and have a really lovely christmas.
xxxxx
