Happy Birthday roamin', hope the sun shines on you.0 -
hello lovely friends, hope that you are all coping with the nasty weather that has been sent your way.
kathy, your answer to the doc had me laughing - its an easy mistake to make, but a funny one. i am grateful for the update on your BIL, even if the news was not what we are all hoping for, however, i will continue with my prayers for you all.
jean - happy birthday
isom - hope the bath warmed you up, the other thing that helps is a hat - i am wearing one all the time now, it makes a big difference.
happy crafter - you are putting us all to shame - good on you.
chalky - lovely tree - reminds me of the tree that my grandma used to do for us when we were kids - my mum couldn't really be bothered with things like that, so it was down to grandma, and how she excelled at it!
anne - what a lovely pair you and your hubby are, not enough people like you show the christmas spirit - it makes my heart very happy to hear that others are willing to show a bit of kindness to those who need it.
oh well, off to make some fishcakes (thats what OH wants for his dinner) and then visit the neighbours and then pick some escarole (winter lettuce like stuff) and the back inside to bake in front of the fire!
have a lovely day all

Thank you all for your very kind wishes, so far the birthday girlie is thoroughly enjoying her day, pressies, cake, phone calls, text messages, cards and DS and DH at home with me - rare occasion indeed. I am so blessed today. I do struggle towards the year end for one reason or another and most of the time would move into Edna mode in September and stay there till after February but I have tried really hard this year not to go be a tortoise, failed a bit but thank you all for putting up with me. Kathy if you want I will do the updates for you - just let me know as you have more than enough to worry about at present. Sending you all love and cuddles for the Christmas, also saying prayers for all those who are in great need of them. Maytaurus has sent me an e card today and for that I am especially thankful, so perhaps she is on the road to recovery. I have promised myself that the charity knitting will commence on the 4th of January and I will not stop till I bust at least half the stash of either wool or material - well I say that but I jut know it won't work no matter how hard I try, I can dream tho'.

Hi everyone; hope you are all coping with the snow and that the weather gets better soon. I almost daren't look at the forecast for the UK these days because I worry about the folks back home.
Well, my sister and BIL finally got the latest test results yesterday. His bilirubin levels have come down by 39 points; I don't really understand it all but the levels peaked at 700, and should be around 40-50 apparently so, although they've only come down a bit, it's still a step in the right direction. It's the bilirubin that is causing the jaundice, and the jaundice is causing his skin to itch all the time, and it's that that is driving him round the bend. It distresses my sister to have to watch him, too, so the sooner they can do something to stop that, the happier they will be. He's even said he could put up with anything but the itching - it's all over his body, and the scratching makes him sore, too. He's having to take sedatives just to get some sleep to get some respite from it. She said she can't even cuddle him because it makes him hot, which makes the itching worse. It must be a real nightmare - it's bad enough what he's going through, but that just makes it so much worse. He has actually put on a pound in weight, not enough to counter the four stone he has lost, but another step in the right direction. He was really chuffed about that, too. They will be seeing the GP today, so maybe he can come up with something. It didn't help matters much when they learned that their GP is retiring in January, just when they really need him.
Thank you all, once again, for your lovely thoughts and kind words.
Jean - I would be really grateful if you would do the updates for me. I sometimes forget then remember a bit later on, but this last couple of weeks it has completely gone from my brain! It was only seeing Pippa's post that reminded me. Thank you so much. I hope you've managed to get completely rid of Edna now.
DPixie - I've never heard of escarole before but I'm intrigued now! I shall have to look out for it. Do you wear your hat indoors when it's cold or just when you go out? I wear one outside but I've not thought of wearing it indoors; I will definitely try it the next time its freezing. Today, it's damp and dull but quite mild, although I think colder weather is on the way over the next couple of days.
This year, same as last year, I'm really missing the excitement of Christmas with the family, and cooking the dinner. We are spending the day with Adrian's relatives about an hour away, which I know will be nice but I must own up to a few tears when I was going through the Christmas decorations yesterday, and some things I couldn't bear to get out and put on display because they are things that the children and grandchildren love to see at Christmas.
Well, I need to pop out for a few supplies, so I will do that in a moment. For those of you who are cooking the Christmas dinner this year, I hope you have all managed to get out to the shops to get all you need. I think it's the most exciting meal of the year to cook, and I always get a real buzz out of doing it!
Anyway, I'm waffling now so I'll see you all later.

At least it's slightly more positive mioliere, shame about the GP though, continuity can help an awful lot.
I can see your point about the christmas decorations as well, I'vr given some of the childish ones to DIL2 because they won't be coming here this year, we're going to them on boxing day, so there didn't seem any point in having the santas etc. out here. I'll miss them though.0 -
woken up to white over here and its still coming down.
kathy im so sorry to hear your poor Bil is still suffering, i really hope he is soon feeling much better and the itching stops.
sorry also that you are missing your family so much, i think this time of year when everything is family oriented seems to magnify things.
would it be easier if we left updating until the new year, sorry i never thought when i posted my last update, everyone has so much to do at the moment we could just keep our totals untill after the new year o start next year off with.
sending kind thoughts and gentle hugs to allSPC~12 ot 124

Just popping in to wish you all a very Happy Christmas, I am really looking forward to 2011 but will call back in with the wishes for that one nearer the time. As part of the birthday I got...........another new computerised sewing machine, so I have to spend the next week reading the book and trying to work out how to get it to do things! I am so lucky - such a happy bunny - will keep my fingers crossed that it lasts over the remainder of the holidays.
Sending Love and cuddles to you all, because you are all really special to me, take care in that rotten weather that is hitting the UK at present and enjoy the holiday.
