Hi all a very grumpy f1 here - hubby has just phoned and said he is stuck at work as there is no way out of the town he works to where we live - the main A road has been shut as a lorry has jack-knifed - it looks like they are sleeping at work! which is on an industrial estate
Let you know if anything changes xxx
ps if you were thinking of going out - think again take care all of you xxxDebt Diary: Im not going to be an Ostrich anymore -LBM - 16/1/12 /0 -
Hi F1 - I know you are disappointed but better that he be stuck at work than stuck in traffic, perhaps on an isolated country road, in such bad conditions; at least you know he is safe. As you say 'they' he's not on his own, either, which is good. I do hope he makes it back as soon, and as safely, as possible. Have as good an evening as you can under the circumstances.

Oh F1 please don't be grumpy, be grateful instead, he is safe and sound, all be it at his place of work - he isn't stuck in a snowdrift in a car freezing his whatsits off overnight waiting on rescue. He really is in the best place for the time being. You and little in have a big cuddle in on the couch with a soppy film and some treats. You haven't got to worry about DH being out in the rotten weather.

F1 better safe than dead I always say! When i had my nightmare journey home couple of weeks ago realised how true that is...so while dh may not be with you he is safe...sure they will all rally round and good old british spirit will come to the fore! Suspect we wont be moving tomorrow...was a mix of layer of ice and slush earlier and now will be frozen so just not risking it...dont want mum to break hip or anything...were just over the worst health issues so just dont want to risk it as both of us need a break from stress and illness....
hugs all...off to bed after a good night of tv and chilling!
Ps found a very easy but deeeelicious chocolate panna cotta recipe if anyone wants it-ridiculously easy to make but very impressive and great for christmas day/visitors as hadto be made the day before!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Oh f1 please don`t be grumpy about DH having to stay at work. At least you know he is safe and well and has company.Hopefully they will have access to food and somewhere to get some sleep.
((Hugs)) for you and f1 junior - at least you have him for company.
I`d be far more grumpy and worried sick if he was stuck in the car in the cold, maybe for hours or overnight even if it`s very bad. Trucks aren`t always safer as a lot of the problems seem to be caused by lorries jack-knifing on icy roads and traffic being held up until they can be moved.
DD is away out with friends tonight - silly girl has on high heels and we had 6" of snow yesterday, not much today but it`s quite heavy again just now, must be another 2-3 " since I last looked out. Just hope she can get a taxi homeDread to think how much more will have fallen by morning.
Despite loads of warnings about the coming snow the gritters haven`t been much in evidence this time. Main roads are quite bad, last time they were practically clear the whole time.
Been sitting in front of the fire with my knitting, scarf for pressie to match the fingerless mitts I did,(might add thumbs to them a la chalky style) with little J playing in his bargain activity centre thing. He`s asleep now so that will be him until morning.
Off to stick the hottie in the bed so that it`s nice and cosy.
Stay safe and warm everyone.

Hi all - no i totally agree with what you said about him being safe at work - I was actually grumpy with bosses - they asked earlier in day if they could go home as weather was getting worse or at least whilst it was light - I was actually grumpy with the answer they got! (you can guess what that was) - they put one chap up in a hotel but the people who lived in surrounding area were just left to either sleep at work or try and come home - there was only about 4-5 in to work today I think.
Anyway upshot is that a chap (who was not at work at the time but lives near work) - came and got them in a big truck and brought them all home so he got home about 10 ish (he had spent an hour odd digging his and his collagues car out)
So he is safe which is the main thing - I think the worry made me angry really - I did keep thinking he is better off at work than stuck on the road somewhere or worse!
Just getting him some food - so better get off talk tomorrow take care all J xxxDebt Diary: Im not going to be an Ostrich anymore -LBM - 16/1/12 /0 -
Hello Everyone!
Apologies for not visiting your forum earlier. As you know I have been delivering our SIBOL Blankets to Nursing Homes locally.
I am just popping in to say they have all been delivered and the Nursing Homes have been so grateful. I can't tell you how happy I have been
knowing that my project has been successful!
I would like to thank everyone that has contributed 6" Squares.
I do hope you will pop over to SIBOL www.sunshineinternationalblanketsoflove.blogspot.com
where you will be able to read about the 4 Nursing Home visits.
There was a 5th back in September in Cheshire too if you remember, so that's a total of 5 Nursing Homes I have visited.
I have tried to share the Blankets equally. I had the pleasure of meeting too some of the residents as you will see on the photographs.
I can't tell you how grateful they have all been.
My first Jan Eaton Blanket is nearly finished I have to do the Butterflies and fasten those dreaded ends off first.
So I hope you will keep checking for that too, in a day or two.
May I thank you all for your help this year, and may I wish you all a very Happy Christmas and New Year and I do wish Maytaurus
a speedy recovery.
Best wishes
from Sue (Mrs Twins).x0 -
Glad to see your DH is home safely, you`ll sleep better tonight.
