Kinsey - I bet William is truly gorgeous! You must be very proud.

Salome - that bolero is beautiful; so sweet and delicate. Well done!

Well, I'm still on a high after Chalky's visit! I hope the rest of their journey is going well. She gave me some lovely fresh lemons so I've just made a batch of lemonade with some of them (Attic 24 has a lovely recipe and has put a link to it in her latest blog post). My kitchen smells wonderfully of lemons now and reminds me of Chalky!

My headlights have finally arrived! DH has just fitted them and they work 100%. Having been quoted over £800 here in France, I ordered them direct from Germany for £350 including delivery! Excellent value for money and truly money-saving! Now we just need a new tyre then it can be controle techniqued (MOT'd) and I'll be driving that again instead of DH's rattly little van!

The parcel saga continues, though. The first of the two parcels finally arrived - damaged. The company have finally acknowledged that the second one has gone missing. I spent most of last week chasing them up and now they've emailed me a claim form telling me I have to get it back to them by the end of this week! Needless to say, they have received one of my (as DH calls them) a*s*y emails! I await their reply.

Anyway, I will try and get the update done but you may have to look on my b**g for the last update to see the latest totals, IYSWIM. I'll find out later.

Well, I'm getting hungry now so I'm off to do some lunch.

    Lovely weather here today.

No wooly stuff done yet - yesterday was pooped after looking after a two year old who had a major tantrum after being told he couldnt take the plugs out of the tv!!

Morning girls - sorry have been missing a couple of days
Hope all are well - may - have not seen you lately - hugs xxxx

roamin - oh those cakes are great I wish mine were that neat - I think I said I made one and DS kicked it around like a small ball (as it was very round - hmmmmm!) - I would like to do a cake stand type thing for my Mum for her birthday - maybe one day .....

salome - oh that bolero is so pretty - well done xxx

isom - i felt sorry for you - the two year old tantrum - well my one had a nine year old tantrum yesterday (and ashamed to say we had a row) - I blame the weather and DS is very tired (no excuse to be rude to Mum though) - have a rest today - Mum sounds like she is back up and going which is good - is she coming to live with you? - oh how nice - I miss my Mum - hope the w*** think is better now - thinking of you xxxx

kathy chalky - you sound like you had a lovely time - I had a thought that linda was as lovely in the "flesh" as she is on here - and all those gifts - how kind - did you get the needles out? xx

Well I must tell you - I have knitted two xmas box pull on hats using one ball of the chunky from Kemps and am so pleased with it - its very good quality and so soft (cant remember if its the 1.09 or 1.19 one) still I have ones that cost over 2.00 and they are a little rough - so am hooked on Kemps from now on - oh no ............

Am using up some balls of bright wool by knitting two strands together for plain scarves

salome - do you have any more details for your items for church - what would they like and what is the cut off date - just in case I get my bits in gear and manage some bits or anyone else wants to help xx

I have 100 and 1 programmes recorded on tv (due to sporting items grrrr) so am gonna clear surface damage and get on with some knitting and viewing - have a good day - hope all the poorlies are improving and hugs and thoughts to all those that are poorlie or low xxx

Hi all - as usual events here seem to have taken over normal life so I've been a bit MIA lately!

F1widow - I do sympathise with you about your nine year old but can assure you that they do all eventually grow up! My DS2 was a little horror but has turned into a lovely young man, although I doubted if he ever would! Tiredness plays a big part but, with my DS2, it was always worse when he was hungry - something to do with blood sugar levels, I think. We got the crochet hooks out but Chalky was much more productive than I was! I'll put photos on the b**g later, along with a photo of the lovely bunting she sneakily left wrapped up on the pillow before they left!

Well, I'm currently doing some Mrs Twins squares but I've found a crochet bolero pattern I want to make for Summer, to go with the dress I bought for her birthday (which is in August - one year old; I can hardly believe it!).

I gave Chalky a bag full of 8" squares but forgot to count them first; I think there were 30 but I'll wait until she's back home and posting again to ask her.

The weather is absolutely gorgeous here and I see from the forecast that it's great in the UK, too. I love it when I know we are all enjoying the sun. We will be watching the match this afternoon so I'll have a bonus couple of hours in which to do some crochet.

(((Hugs))) to all those MIA - Maytaurus - hope you are well?

DPixie - you're probably in France now! Hope everything went well!

    Morning all

Another nice sunny one here today :)

Have'nt been in for a few day's been busy with other stuff.

MIL should be out of hospital Thursday or Friday if all goes well. She is a lot better now thank goodness, must admit on a couple of occasions the Doctor's thought she was breathing her last, but thankfully she pulled through both times.

Never rains but it pours....my Mum has been having trouble swallowing (never told me though) turns out she has to have an Endoscopy to see what's going on down her throat and gullet. The Dr said she may need to have her Gullet stretched.

Have been working on the latest Ripple blanket I am making for my Dsis, it's looking really nice, will post a pic when I get a bit further with it :)
Also been did some leaves, a sort of square and a triangle with some green wool I had given me, for the RWB project.

Salome - Love the bolero it look's so pretty, well done :T
Jean - those cakes are amazing, I tried to do one once and it looked more like a wonky biscuit.....I think I may have done something wrong ;):rotfl:
kathy - I just knew you and chalky would hit it off, how lovely of her to leave you a present, such a nice thing to do,
ISOM - know what you mean about 2yr olds and wires, had the same thing with my DGS novelty soon wore off though thank goodness. O what a shame it looked such a lovely dress as well.
Kinsey - Hmmm yes the glazed look is quite common I think, from people who don't know what they are missing.....the thrill of wool hunting, browsing through pattern books, surfin the web for new stuff and finding inventive ways to "stash the stash":rotfl:

Going to MIL's flat now to fetch some clothes for her to be discharged in, then off to visit her at the hospital.

Pippa - glad that MIL will soon be out of hospital but so sorry to hear that your own Mum is having problems. I wish her well with the endoscopy.

Kinsey - this is the pattern I found http://www.patonsyarns.com/pattern.php?PID=4119 It uses Paton's Astra which I researched and found that it's DK wool so you won't have to buy special (expensive!) wool for it. I haven't started mine yet but intend to soon. Hope it's the sort of thing you are looking for!
