    Hi everyone

Well, what a lovely lovely time we had together! Chalky is as lovely as you'd imagine from her posts on here. We talked more or less non stop, no awkward silences or anything like that. They were the perfect guests and we would love to have them here again. Her DH is great and even helped my DH with some plaster-boarding so there will always be a bit of our house that will remind me of them! Naughty Chalky sneaked in a pressie for me, which I found on her pillow, with a lovely thank you card, after they had left - a beautiful string of fabric bunting in the most gorgeous colours - tomorrow I will post a photo on my b**g, as well as some photos we took while they were here. They had already brought us some wine, some home-made chutney and marmalade, and a big bag of freshly-picked lemons.

I hope they enjoyed their visit as much as we did! I feel I have a friend for life now!

Thank you for all your updates. I will add them tomorrow.

Jean - hope you're managing to get some time to yourself!

Elaine - hope things have gone well for your DD and DS.

ISOM - hope you're feeling less groggy now.

Sock-knitter - I really hope the council changes its mind. Something that has been successful should not even be considered for closure.

Well, I'd better think about the dinner, I suppose.

Chalky - if you get a chance to read this, have a great trip back to the UK! It was lovely meeting you for real!

  • My littlest French godson took his "cakes" to playschool for show and tell, I then got a smashing wee begging letter from his teacher, so I just felt I had to knock this lot up - will deliver them next Monday when I get to look after all three boys for a couple of days while their mummy is in hospital.

    Hi
THose cakes look fantastic. Wonderful :-)
Have actually got the bolero finished :-) Started to knit a jumper thinking I'll give it to mum to put among her jumpers she sends off etc, but then realised there was white in it, and from what I gather, white is their mourning colours isn't it, and it's advised not to use anything with white is that right ?? It's mainly pink randomly differnt shades of, but has white in the colours as well.
Some people from our church are going to Romania soon, visiting some old people home or something like that. Apparently a lot of old people are turned out on the streets, and I'm hoping to get something going in regards to knitting blankets, hats, scarves, gloves etc for them, because it can get very cold, and these people have nothing :-( Looking forward to that possibly coming about, and have loads of ideas for knitting get togethers. Thought it would be nice to teach the children in the church to knit, so they can be included as well.
Glad you had a great time with Chalky, Moiliere :-)
Have a blessed and prosperous day. Hugs to all who need them. ((((hugs)))) Love you all.

Good morning everyone, thank you all so much for the good wishes for baby William. We went to see him on sunday and he is, of course, absolutely beautiful, his mum is feeding him but I did get to burp him. I asked if it was ok to put a photo on here and they said they'd rather I didn't, pity but never mind.
mioilere and Chalky how lovely to actually meet, very envious. Knew you'd get on well. It must have been lovely to be able to talk as much as you liked about woolly stuff and not have people's eyes glaze over!
Jean those cakes look good enough to eat, and how flattering to be begged for them. Great cake stand too.
Salome your projects sound so interesting, please keep us informed. Maybe, along with everything else in your busy life, you could let us know what's needed so some of could help?
I'm still catching up on the last few days posts, so I'll just send love and hugs to everyone, and hope poorly people are soon well. xxxx
