mioliere I wonder if you are just feeling homesick for your family? Don't mean 'just' as it's a big thing. Hope you feel better soon.

Kinsey - you've hit the nail right on the head. I'm homesick for family, friends, and the UK, and it's definitely having a bit of an impact on me at the moment! I don't think I'll ever become a good ex-pat! Thank you very much for your kind words.

    Hi all,

Kathy - have a great big hug first of all. Poor you missing home and family. Is there any chance you could come home for Christmas / New Year celebrations ? I know you would still have to leave again but sharing happy family time in the depths of the gloomy season might keep your spirits up.

Pippa - hug for you too - clearing out a loved one`s `stuff` isn`t easy.

One for you too,Mrs moneypenny - hope you and yours are doing OK - takes time to get used to losing loved ones and there seem to be quite a few on here recently.

Extra big hugs for Shelley and family- tough day today and Thursday as well, we`ll be thinking of you all.

Maytaurus and Bugstunny - hugs are coming to you too. Hope you are feeling a bit better now May and on the road to recovery.

Anyone else want a wee hug while I`m at it ? Plenty to go round (((((hug))))).

Well, I don`t know where to start with the fayre stuff. Should I do little santas, snowmen, angels, fingerless gloves,scarves.........decisions are not my strong point. Hope the other folk are not dithering like me !!!!!
Off to put the kettle on and toss a coin.

Thanks Elaine, it is really difficult. DH and his mum are finding it really hard, they found the cremation difficult enough and couldnt even think about the ashes. I have finally arranged buying a plot and organising an internment for them, so we are doing that at a small service a week on friday. I think DH needs somewhere 'to go to be with his dad' IYKWIM. and his poor mum just kept saying because she was the youngest of the family shed never had to arrange funerals etc before. I havent either but i dont think either of them will be able to grieve properly until he is properly laid to rest.

Sue those christmas blankets looks beautiful, well done to you and everyone who took part in making them.

Mrs moneypenny, you`ve probably got that right. It might be that the `final resting place` will give them some closure at last. Have pm`d you.

I kept Jim`s ashes for ages because I couldn`t decide what sort of head stone to have for him :o and I knew I didn`t want them scattered to the four winds - wanted something to show that he`d existed in this life. Felt unsettled for months until DS,DD and I went to the memorial yard and saw one which had just been done. Most of the ones had thistles or roses etc on them, not his style at all, but this one had a fuchsia engraved on it at the top. Jim used to grow and show fuchsias and we even had a small fuchsia nursery which we ran for a few years - so that was it decided. Went and organised the plot, quite near his mum`s plot, and once the headstone went up I became much more settled. Hopefully it will be the same for your DH and MIL. It`s nice to have somewhere to just `be` with them especially on a `down day`.

Take care of yourself, cos you`ll be expected to take care of everyone else just now. (((hugs)))

Confession time - I bought more wool today. Went to the wool shop yesterday to get some sparkly stuff for these C..........things I`ll be doing but they didn`t have any - boo. Went to Poundstretcher for something totally different today and guess what - they had some - yay. It practically jumped off the shelf into my basket so had to take pity on it. Better go and do something with it now.;)

Aww thanks all :A The letters were put back in the original tin box MIL kept them in for over 60 years and they will be kept safe. It is such a harrowing time when a loved one goes as many of you will know, and little things start you thinking about them, happy and sad.
Shelley have been thinking of you today x

We took my Mum to Redditch this morning and she loved it, has'nt been there before so it was all new. She treated herself to a new coat and got some bits and pieces for Christmas for the great-grandchildren. She was worn out when we got back, I settled her down with a cup of tea and some lunch and put everything away, I bet she fell asleep after we had gone.

OH is off to snooker with my friends OH tonight and will drop me off at her's first, so I will take an WIP with me and see if I can finish it, nothing too difficult though as we have a couple of vino's and I don't want to go dropping stitches all over the place ;)

(((hugs))) for you all for being so nice
    Anne
