    Hi

Where has the time gone ???? I can't believe I haven't got on here for ages :-( I trust you are all ok, and knitting loads :-) I have been so busy time has just flown by and tomorrow is Novemeber !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyway. My knitting needles haven't been idle. The have been as busy as me :-) lol. I have just knitted two pairs of socks for my next door neighbour. She has managed to lose a pair I knitted her last year, though at first she thought she'd lost both, but one pair has turned up again. I knitted her another pair of snowflake ones in purple. She had them on today :-) and a chunky pair with chunky crofters. I got some of the crofters yarn to do myself a pair, and when they're done I'm going to sew some soles on the bottom to make them into slipper socks :-)
Have a blessed evening everyone. Hugs to all who need them ((((hugs)))) love you all.

  • morning all

looks like every one had a busy weekend, we went to alton towers on saturday Crickey it was busy ive never seen so many people, we let DS take a friend who after queuing for almost 40 mins for nemesis fainted, they were quite a way in front of us in the queue so DD who was with them had to take charge and ring me to edge thought the queue to get to them, luckily once he came round and had something to eat he was fine. but it was a scare being that responsible for someone elses child, once i was happy he was ok i took the decision not to ring home has his poor parents would have been worried sick, but i told them everything that happened once we got back. I think it was a mix of adrenalin rush and lack of food. i managed to get a go on it before we came away at home time so the day wasnt wasted - that is my favourite ride and DS friend said he was gald he got a go on it as he agreed it was the best,

ive been iroing again this morning, i hadnt finished it friday kathy id just decided to tackle it;), im making headway as i can actually see the edge of the top of the tub its stored in now so im over half way:rotfl:. id guess another 2 days should do it. as long as it keeps raining so its not added to.

im knitting little christmas stockings at the mo, so far ive made 15 im hoping to do one for each child in the class i look after at lunchtime and put a little choccie in instead of doing them christmas cards.

did you all get many trick or treaters? we got loads but i expect it living so close to the school and working there - they were all very well behaved so i didnt mind.

must go and put the latest stack of t shirts away while the iron cools down then ive promised myself a coffee.

    Morning everyone.

Hope you all had a good weekend. Been a bit busy here. Went out on Friday night TO THE PUB - well the local bowling clubhouse :p- with my 3 daughters and one of their friends. It was a ladies night organised by the school PTA so stalls of goodies on sale, stovies for supper and a few drinks as well - Appletise for me of course as driving. Landed up being asked to provide some bits for their Christmas fayre at the end of November so been trawling through the patterns for some ideas.
Saturday was babysitting duties as Dd had a Hallowe`en thing on so there was me, little J and a box of Maltesers - we did enjoy ourselves - Pippa`s fault for putting the idea in my head, I don`t think about it until someone puts the idea in there and then I can`t resist. Little J likes them too :D.
Sunday went visiting and saw four of the grandchildren all dressed up for trick or treating - or guising as we used to call it here - although we used to have `neepie lanterns` (hollowed out swede) instead of pumpkins - all Americanised now.

DD and little J off to nursery today but not had time to be lonely yet. Had a visit from DS 1 to sweep the chimney for me. I`ll be able to put the fire on without worrying about setting it ablaze now. Off to take DS2 for appointment and then get him to set a moose trap in the eaves - DD heard something scratching about last night when she went to bed so promised I`d get a trap or two set today.

Right, I`d better get going and look out some choccy for the traps.
    Back later.

Well yesterday went very well BIL1/SIL and BIL2 arrived 12ish.
We managed to finish the sorting of MIL's last treasured bits and pieces.
BIL1 is going to put the photos on a disc which will make it easier to look through, I think we were all getting a bit overwhelmed with it all.

The thing that tipped us all over the edge was an envelope with letters in from FIL to MIL, when he was in a prisoner of war camp deep in Germany during WW2.
Soon as the envelope was opened I realised what they were and put them back in as I felt we were intruding too much.

kathy - so glad you actually got out for a bit of R & R it will do you good, we all need to just chill with friends sometimes:) Yes the gold prices are so high at the moment its worth having a look through cant do anything with broken/twisted earrings anyway
chalky - hmmm yes I have been doing the same, but I found a pattern for stripey gloves, and fingerless mitts with a thumb in MIL's knitting stuff....so what else could I do but have a go ;) they are coming out really nice as well, makes a difference with just the thumb in
psso - sorry but they are rather yummy are'nt they, glad you enjoyed them, must go to the pound shop and get another box:rotfl:
Hi Salome nice to see you back
shelley - my thoughts are with you all this week it will be a difficult one for you
May - I hope you are continuing to improve
mrs-m - no funny enough we only had 1 lot usually we have loads. Well done with the ironing:T I've just shut the airing cupboard door on mine :o

Off into the garden for half an hour now, must get some of the leaves up, then its Lunch, sofa, knitting and a dvd, DS1 brought Avatar with him and left it for us to watch, so we decided to chill out this PM ahhh bliss.

Pippa I know just what you mean about the letters, I found some from an old flame of my Mum's, he was a sailor and went down with the ship in 1942. Broke her heart, and mine because I started to read them and felt all wrong so I've put them away.

sending hugs to you both. but keep those letters safe perhaps one day you will find comfort from them. recently my aunt sent me copies of some postcards my great grandad sent great gran when he was away serving in the war. they were such a lovely lovely couple. they died in the early 1970s when i was young. i missed them so much. when i was growing up they lived over the road from us and we called them granny and grandad in the room as they lived in the downstairs front room of my grannys house. we moved from lincolnshire to leicestershire and i missed them so much. it sounds silly but it made them feel close again when i read the cards.

still havent finished ironing:othings distract me too easily

Hi everyone. I've been MIA for a while because a) there's been a lot going on round here and b) I've been feeling slightly under the weather - not anything I can put my finger on but just out of sorts. It may just be that I need a break from all the renovating. I went out for a drive in the afternoon and strolled around one of the local parks which is looking beautiful now that all the leaves are changing colour. In the sun, it was a stunning place to be and I think it did my soul good. The only downside was that I knew I had to go back to Chez Madhouse! We ended up shifting yet more furniture around. As we work on each part of the house, it means we have to keep moving stuff; it's one of the things that is driving me round the bend and I am longing to get organised.

DH is out for the day and, hopefully, for the next couple of days doing some work (more renovation but he enjoys it!) for someone else, so I am at last having a few days break from it. Hopefully, he'll be too tired to feel like doing anything to our house when he gets back!

Pippa - I'd have felt the same about those letters.

Shelley - you and your family are in my thoughts, particularly today which will be very difficult for you all.

May - I hope you are recovering well.

I need to finish a few WIPs then I might have a go at knitting some fingerless gloves. I've been sticking to crochet lately because it's a lot easier on my hands, but I was so pleased with the way the gloves that I made last year (from the great pattern that Pam found) turned out, and I want to make some for both my DILs for Christmas.

DIL2 had her 20 week scan yesterday and everything is going well. They don't want to know the sex of the baby but she is convinced she saw the hint of a little boy! We shall just have to wait and see, won't we? They all Skyped last night and Summer called me Nanny for the first time which melted my heart - I just wish I was there with her. She understands Skype really well now; she had a new Maisie book and a toy elephant that she wanted to show me yesterday! I always try and have something pretty to show her, too.

Anyway, enough of me. I think I'm going to have another cup of coffee and maybe get the ironing board out, although if you've still got yours up, Mrs Moneypenny, I'll send it all round to you!

Chalky - I hope your plans for going back to Spain are progressing well. Thanks for the hugs, by the way; they were sorely needed!

Jean - hope you are not doing too much especially with the way France seems to rob you of hours in the day! The weather here was lovely yesterday. With it being bank holiday the park I visited was packed out with people really enjoying the sun. It's just as nice today, luckily.
