Wow! Me on first again! It must be half term and Kathy must be dusting!!!

Well of course we were sad to say goodbye to DS and DDIL -- She was really pleased with all the crafty contributions for her stall so I hope that goes well for her.
They so enjoyed having Buster, who in turn loved all the attention! He slept all last evening he was so exhausted, peace perfect peace!

F1 and others who have sent kind wishes for daughterless me and DD2. I do feel much better. I knew I would once she reached Australia found somewhere to live and got a job. She is such a lively bundle that the thought of her gadding around various islands in Thailand was a bit of a worry. She has a job in a bar called Cheeky Monkeys and has to wear various fancy dress outfits!! So absolutely perfect for her!!

Well we are now trying to get a bit organised for our return to Spain. We flyon the 9th of Nov this year- later than usual as we are staying home for DH's birthday celebrations on the 5th!

So its Christmas cards and presents to organise as its too late to leave it until our return for Christmas on the 17th Dec!!!! But DH has gone to play golf today so I am going out to lunch with DMIL and then finishing off my last WIP'S ( Who am I kidding!)

Pippa Mobius queen !! I am so glad.

So must get on but special gentle thoughts and love to all.
Try and do a good deed every day.
  • im being good today and tackling the ironing [STRIKE]pile [/STRIKE]mountain honestly if it gets any bigger we will lose the back door:eek:. i dont realise how many cothes we all have till it all get caught up with and back in the wardrodes.
ive also tackled the sock pairing. i think im the only one in the house that doesnt realise that socks arent self pairing creatures that reunite of their own accord once they come in off the line and migrate back to their respective drawers.

    have a lovely weekend all

    Hi everyone.

Yes, Chalky - I seem to spend half my time dusting these days. I just wish it was the normal house dust and not the DIY stuff!

Pippa - glad your computer is up and running again! HOw lovely to have a bag of wool to rummage through!

Well, I've sent DH out to mow the lawns at the holiday home this afternoon so I'm actually enjoying some spare time to myself for a change.

Mrs Moneypenny - I'm glad you've got your ironing done. Do you want any more? I can send it over to you!

Well, it was really cold first thing then the sun came out and it was quite warm, but it's gone back in now and it's a bit cooler again. Honestly, my cardie has been on and off all day! Still, I've got all the washing dry on the line so I can't complain.

What I can complain about is not getting enough woolly time. Hopefully, next week DH will be doing the job he should have been doing this week, but the people weren't ready on time. Once I know that it's definitely 'on' I shall plan my time with only me in mind!

Anyway, I think I'll go and wash the kitchen floor while there are no size 11 steel toe cap workboots to trample all over it! Then I'll have a cuppa!

  • Decided to take the rest of the afternoon off, going to have a search online for some ideas for the secret santa, might make something to go along with it.
Mrs Moneypenny - just chuck all the socks into their respective bedrooms....the magic fairy will sort them! I once just put any old two socks together and IT WAS NOTED, so I explained I DO NOT DO SOCKS, its bad enough that they disapear one at a time, how does that one work eh?
Kathy, its bucketing down, so hope you managed to get the floor washed and dried prior to the size 11's arriving home. I don't do floor either - well not when its wet, two dogs just in and out all day long, so no point really.
Chalky glad you had a good couple of days away, when you are out getting your pressies for Christmas can I send you my list ? Save me the trek. I have made a bit of a start but my heart just isn't in it - well not yet.
PippaS - you just had to go and mention the maltesers didn't you - grrrr - haven't seen them over here and to be honest I don't miss things until someone mentions them - Oh could just go some, so will you please eat a few for me, Glad you had a good birthday lunch treat too, lovely when someone spoils you isn't it?
ISOM - hope you didn't manage to get lost up the valleys?
Ok off for a cuppa and a soft seat, will be back somewhen no doubt. Love and big huge cuddles to you all

Shaz - I hope you are getting better now. (((Hugs))) are on their way.

Jean - I keep thinking about Cadbury's Flakes! The chocolate just isn't the same here, is it? Hope the rain stops soon. We haven't had any for a while now but I'm sure that won't last! I've been ignoring the kitchen floor while DH has been plastering and so on, and he's been washing it! I just wanted to remind myself what it was like to wash a kitchen floor and let it dry before it's walked on again. Ah, such good times they were!

Socks - I long ago got fed up with pairing DH's socks up, especially when he bought himself a bargain multi-pack of socks that were all in shades of blue that almost matched. I used to have to stand by the window in daylight to get them paired up correctly. I don't bother any more; he's colour blind and doesn't notice so no-one really cares! It was worse when the boys were home and reached the ages when all their socks were the same size as DH's!

Ha ha as I type I have odd socks on. I too have given up with it completely and have joined my girls who always wear odd socks. I actually have 1 stripey ankle sock and 1 white trainer sock on and I have been out to lunch!! But I do have trousers on and wore trainers so I am sure no-one noticed.
Just so no-one thinks I am completely non co-ordinated I do always wear matching underwear -- but knicks don't seem to get lost like socks!!

Shaz thought you'd been quiet, take it easy and lots of ((hugs)).

Chocolateless ladies in France, we'll have to set up a chocolate chain gang for you! That's classed as an emergency.

Socks have a mind of their own and are evil.

Hi all, hope you are all as well as can be expected.

Ooo Pippa - sofa and maltesers a marriage made in heaven, especially if you included a cosy fire.
Speaking of chocolate, Kathy did you find some Caramac when you were home, I remember you had a fancy for some.

As for the socks, I do not know how it happens. You put pairs of socks in the washing machine and by the time you take them out of the tumble drier or off the line you have lost one or two of them. A Bermuda triangle for socks ?? I have a big basket of odd socks which I keep just in case I find the matching ones. Maybe under the beds? Jim thought he would solve my problem by buying only black socks. That was OK until some of them had been washed a few times and had gone `lighter` black - you know what I mean -and he landed up wearing a dark black and a light black :rotfl:. DD often wears odd socks under her boots cos no-one sees `em.

Mrs m - do you fancy a holiday at my house ? Bed and all meals in return for doing my ironing ? Mind you, you could be here for some time :o.

Sock knitter - hope you are feeling better now, nothing too serious I hope. Take it easy for a while.

Well, it`s going to be all change here again next week. DD goes back to work on Monday and little J starts nursery full time too except for Tuesdays, not a space for him yet, so DD is having every Tues off until Christmas to use up the holidays she has accumulated while on maternity leave :). DS hasn`t been here for about three weeks, except for flying visits,as he`s been staying with his girlfriend and it looks as if he might be moving in permanently !! So I`ll be rattling around here all on my lonesome.

Decided to rip out the hat which I was doing with the two strands of dk. As well as hurting my hands, it was coming out big enough to fit a giant. Had used 100g of yarn and was only halfway up. Went to get another ball and discovered it wasn`t dk but aran weight. the band had torn off when I pulled the first ball out of the bag and I didn`t realise my mistake. Not much wonder it was heavy and very thick and BIG. I`d bought loads of wool when the local shop was closing down and thought it was all dk in the bag, so must check before using any more.

Well, I`d better get off now. DD wants to catch up with her friends too, so might as well go and see what there is to tempt me foodwise.

Hugs available if anyone needs one or two...............
