Started a cat blanket for my own cat last night as she has adopted the last one I did and clearly finds the cusion I made too small now so that will go to the charity. A huge well done F1, well done you! Very proud of you! Remember baby steps! Maybe your new home will be a great opportunity to come out of your shell in more ways than one!
Ive also realised that Ive not sent the tunisian hooks off yet...really sorry! kept meaning to then forgot and on it goes...will try remember again and am hugely sorry for delay.

Wow Pippa I am so full of admiration -- that looks wonderful when I tried it I could not get the stitches from one end of the circular needles to the other so gave up!!! The patience of a ???? . Not a saint that's for sure. I am so glad I sent the needles to you and they are not festering at the bottom of the drawer. Can you make them quickly cos I think they would make lovely presents for your DILS. Cat blankets lovely too.
Jean my days are disappearing too --- Buster is a gorgeous distraction cos you have to go out and walk him and he loves the beach - so that was a good few hours disposed of!!

We are off to North Devon to see DS and DDIL. A last visit before we go back to Spain although we will see them when they come down for DH's birthday on the 5th of Nov which he shares with DDIL actually. So I am going armed with all the things I have made her for her Craft Stall so I hope she is pleased.

After doing quite a lot of private stuff I am looking forward to getting back to the Charity work and the Challenges on Loving Hands certainly have a lot of scope. So will make a start soon I think.

Well more sewing up of the fingerless gloves so must get on but love to one and all x
Try and do a good deed every day.
  • Just of to w**** and my long day - mind you I have two long days as babysitting tonight and tom!!
have a good day all....gentle hugs those that need need them!

    morning all

F1 hope village life suits you once you get the clean up tackled.

Kathy i hope you get a stress free day soon, i hope you poor neighbour will be alright - lucky she has such a good neighbour herself

    pippa that looks lovely:T

    SK hope you are well

1/2 term was hard work the garage roof needed fixing so we spent a day up there with sheets of marine ply tar and felt, then we tackled the conifer hedge, we have 7 council green bags for garden rubbish, they have taken all 7 away filled with clippings weve refilled them for in 2 weeks time and still have the same again in a huge gravel sack waiting for when the bags are empty so it will take 6 weeks to get rid of it all. i had to bag it as i couldnt bear the thought of leaving it piled and a hedgie making a home then getting disturbed or worse missed and bagged:eek:.

have my sewing machine out at the mo as ive found som more sheeting to make ST covers, i'd got 36 pads in the cupboard id made a while ago from old towelling.

I hope all are as well as can be

May special thoughts and good wishes to you, but im also thinking of all the awols/lurkers and wish them well

    Hi all

I've just realised I didn't come on here at all yesterday. Too much going on here AND part of the day spent with no power again, while sockets are being sorted.

Shelley - my thoughts are with you.

I hope May is progressing well.

Pippa - lovely photos! I love what you've made and the colours, too.

Chalky - have a great time in N Devon; hope it stops raining soon!

Mrs Moneypenny - sounds like you've been really busy. I hope you can take a break now and again.

F1 - hope your moving plans are going well.

Elaine - that toy was a real bargain, wasn't it?

ISOM - hope you get some time off soon!

Jean - I hope you manage to get some time to yourself soon. It seems to be harder to do that here than in the UK. I don't know where the time goes, but 'go' it certainly does!

Thanks for all the kind thoughts about my neighbour. She is getting over her fall now but still very sore, and her hip and shin are changing colour every day! Turns out the ladder was upside down so it just slipped away from her as she climbed it - in high-heeled boots and a hurry! What are we women like?! She's a gorgeous girl with a great figure - my DH would have loved to have been there when she took her jeans off to examine the damage! He had to be consoled with just my description, but I could see a twinkle in his eye and I'm sure he went into a trance!

Anyway, he's sanding a piece of old timber (did I say we were looking for a piece of old oak? Well, he kept looking in the barns until he found one!) and he keeps trying it out in its intended place, and I have to keep giving my opinion. I think it will be a really nice feature in the kitchen but he really should be getting on the with plastering and tiling. I'm not nagging, though, because the sanding is taking place OUTSIDE in the garden and not in the kitchen!

We started off with a really hard frost this morning but it's now so warm we're going to have our elevenses out there. Very hard to adjust to this sort of weather.

No crocheting done at all last night. We started watching a horror film which DH wanted to see. Well, I hate horror films and, within about twenty minutes, I'd had enough of all the frights and gore, so I went to bed early and read my book instead! It didn't help that I could hear the rest of the film but at least I didn't have to see what everyone was going through!

  • Hello Peeps, just a quick whizz in and out - checking to see you are all OK. Pippa S love the blankets and the gorgeous photo's on wooligans, you have been busy.
ISOM - hope the day goes quickly for you - even if you do have some baby sitting tonight you should manage a soft comfy chair, sometimes relatives can be a bit of a pain in the bottom, you just have to deal with it best you can. Mrs Moneypenny, well done on the sewing machine. I am "toying" with another purchase on one - although I currently have 4 (of various kinds/ages etc). Having to strip down the computer one worried me a bit as it has been playing up for a while now, off course now the FLUFF has gone it's working really well.........so I SHOULDN'T have gone a looking to see what NEW ones were available - shocked by the prices too so will go back to dreaming on that score I think. Mioliere - I really hope you get a quiet and peacful sit in a chair to do some crochet SOON - if not tonight! Yep the cold mornings/evenings are certainly here in Brittany - as you say the sun comes up tho' and its really still pleasant. I am layering in my choice of clothing - covering all eventuallities. OK must scoot as I am being yelled that I have the 5 minute warning for tea. Love to you all, hope to pop in again a bit later on tonight - when the tv gets rotten (again!)
