Hello all just popped in quick - thank you all so much for your kind comments - you dont know how much it means to have you lot on the end of my keyboard.

As for style I dont really have one - I love shabby chic but hubby does not get it !!!!! I know one thing I told him Im fed up with being "safe" - I would like to be a little bolder - I have dreamt about a certain set of curtains for sooooooo long and if he does not let me have them in a main room im having them in "my" room - they are plain with big red poppies on - I love poppies (but hey i love pumpkins but dont think i will be allowed them on curtains tee hee)

We have picked up this morning from freecycle a fantastic two seater sofa - its not been used.

And I forgot to say yesterday - I WENT OUT TA DA!!!!!!!! - I had not actually seen the house and as you lot know I dont do the other side of the front door so i held my breath and off we went - very shaky but i did it and felt sooo good about it and then went in a shop and brought a mag for the first time in months - the village is just stunning - have wanted to live in a village for years - so i cant wait - am not looking forward to the massive clean up we have to do - some people

Anyway am getting funny looks through the window - may have something to do with fact I have bottom on seat and he does not :rotfl:

Catch up soon - love to all J xxx

Hi everyone - I've not been around much today. More electrical work this morning and, this afternoon, my neighbour fell off a ladder and I've been helping her. She's hurt her shin and her hip and is barely able to walk at the moment. She was lucky she didn't break anything - you should have heard the scream; it was quite frightening. It definitely took the wind out of her and she looked quite shocked for a while.

Anyway, F1 - well done; you must be so proud of yourself! The move sounds well worth it, even if you have to do the cleaning first, so I hope everything goes well.

Thanks for all the updates. I will try and add them tomorrow. I thought DH was going to be working on someone else's house this coming week but it seems they won't be ready until next week, so heaven only knows what I'll have to put up with over the next few days. I was looking forward to a bit of a break!

    Shelley - thinking of you.

Maytaurus and Bugstunny - (((hugs))) to you.

(((Hugs))) to everyone else, too. I'll go back through the posts I've missed and try and catch up with you all.

    KathyXX

Thanks for all your encouraging words - it really helps to be able to rant to you all and get it out of my system!

Oh f1, well done you !!!! Maybe village life will suit you and DS better. Will he be able to go to school on his own ? How exciting it would be if you felt able to go out more too.
Operation cleanup sounds horrible, how people can do that is beyond me. I`d be making sure everything was clean so that no-one could call me a mucky mare !! And as you know I don`t like housework.;)
Curtains with poppies sounds really cheery. You could play it `safe` with plainish walls etc and have accents of red to match the poppies - red throws/cushions/vases etc. nice and cosy.
Well done on getting the sofa too. I got a bit of a bargain yesterday too but on Netmums. Wasn`t looking for anything in particular but saw this advertised for £20. Bargain and little J loves it already.

Kathy - how inconsiderate of those people to delay the work and deny you your `me` time :D Wonder what DH will find for you to do :rotfl:. You come on here and rant all you want girl, our shoulders are broad enough to take it.

Away to sew up the fingerless thingummys. DD felt sorry for me and decided she would rip them out for me - all the way - so had to start completely from scratch. :o Oh well, she thought she was helping but I wouldn`t have been as drastic.

    Have a good evening.

Well DD1 and her partner have left for their well deserved holiday so we have a 4 legged friend on his holidays until we go back to Spain on the 9th of Nov. I love the fact that having a dog makes you go for lovely walks and we have already been out in the lanes with him.

pSSO --- What a bargain -- I bet little J is in his element.

F1 -- I am absolutle thrilled to think you have been out. Maybe a new chapter in your life-- You go girl!

Kathy -- Maybe not a break but a step closer to the finish line. What a horrible thing to happen to your neighbour.

Pippa -- So glad you are reading my blog -- copy whatever you want -- Glad it can be of some use. Chutney is lovely. If you want to spice it up a bit add a chilli. Anything seems to work.

Well I am back to my knitting. So have lovely evenings
Try and do a good deed every day.

I would just like to know who is stealing my days? I just can’t seem to get much done lately and it’s not for the want of trying.
F1 – great news about the move for the whole family, I hope you find village life far more suited to your needs. OK so you need to gut the house first (some people should be shot when they move out!) Great news that DS already has a chum at the new school what a fantastic start.
MIOLIERE- fingers are crossed that you get to “do your own thing” some time this week.
CHALKY – machines are running practically non stop – also added to the list the BURDA bag – that was Janette “Oh they could sell really well at the Christmas Fete”.
PSSO – You are ACE at finding a bargain, I know if I want to go shopping who to call!
PIPPA.S-sound like you have a great time with the family over the weekend I think CAKE always help too.
SHEZMIT- be kind to yourself over the coming weeks and months, it takes time to adjust.
SOCK KNITTER – hope you are doing OK and the boys are a bit settled at the moment
KINSEY – you made many heat bags yet? If you run out of jobs I could send you a list of stuff that is on my work board TO DO LIST!
MRS MONEYPENNY – hope the half term has gone smoothly for you all
Right I know I haven’t managed to name everybody, I am in such a pickle – Oh speaking of which CHALKY it tastes wonderful, I did add more Jamaica spice (not sure what that’s called in the real world but that was it’s name in Scotland) to give it a tang. Have vowed not to touch it till Christmas BUT hey when did I ever keep promises to ME. I still have apples on trees but the weather is set fair for this week so they can jolly well stay there for the time being, while I crack on with more jobs.
Love and cuddles to everybody, including all the lurkers, missing in actions and any sneaky passers bye hope MAYTAURUS is soon back with us all AND RESTING UP.
    Jean

MEANT TO SAY - think I may have managed to stop the slipper/sock addiction, seeing Mrs Moneypenny posting that she was doing boobies did it - I am now in BOOBIE MODE!

Here you are toottifrooti the pic I promised you of the cat blankets

    pict3111.jpg

I finally got round to sorting the camera disc out so I could download allsorts of stuff.
The stripey one is a corner to corner one in DK doubled up, so is the one on the left but done in 10" squares 4 of them sewn together. The one at the back is just squares sewn together with a crochet edge. Makes them look a bit different and also uses up a lot of oddments.
