Blimey, I wondered where you`d all gone............way down on page three - surely not much chat today.
I`ll bet everyone`s recovering from the party shenanigans over the weekendlooks as if you all had a good time.
Been quiet here although I did go t DD1`s house yesterday to put up some wallpaper. It`s DGD`s birthday on Thursday and the family party is on Saturday - SiL decided they should decorate before then and got the preparation done, woodwork painted and 3 walls done with lining paper ...then discovered he had to work this weekend ! DD did the painting and called in the cavalry (me) to do the patterned paper. Have told her that if HE ever wants stripey paper putting up again to DO IT HIMSELF. Walls aren`t straight - are any walls ever ? and despite using a plumb line the first sheet looked squint according to DGD  Knew it couldn`t be, must be an optical illusion.
Wasn`t happy tho` till DGD came back in later and said that she was glad I`d managed to straighten it up again. Took a bow and said wasn`t she lucky to have a clever old grandma like me :rotfl:.
DGS was `helping` of course, he`d been painting with his mum on Saturday so had to get involved with the papering too. Very handy he was too, holding the scissors, getting the paste brush and generally keeping me right.
Well, it`s the local Monday holiday here today and it`s not raining - usually pours on the holidays. Very cloudy and chilly though - definitely autumnal now and the trees are turning the beautiful reddy gold colours. I love to see them changing.
Have done my `pudsey style` teddy for DGD, just have to finish off stuffing and sewing and have also rescued the `duck dinosaur`as DGD called it, from the bottom of the pile with the intention of finishing him for DGS. Just hope it looks more like a dinosaur when I`ve finished
Pleased to see you`ve got your own wee space Kathy. When your DH `needs a hand` next week, as he probably will, just tell him `Dave` is on holiday and shut the door :T
Off for a cuppa while it`s quiet.

Hi everyone - I'm finding it really hard to get any spare time lately; don't know where it all goes, I really don't, and it's starting to make me cross!
Hope you are all well.
Elaine - sounds like you've been busy!
I hope to write a longer post when I have a bit of uninterrupted time so I will pop back when that happens!

evening all, well what a day its been, and no time for knitting. danny been to see gp, but they refused to give him his old medication, said his behaviour wasnt the ADHD alone, but also teenage hormones, and we been booked in for family therapy, they have however prescribed him melatonin, to help him get a good nights sleep, instead of the usual 4 to 6 hours he currently getting
also told them i was concerned about his weight, this time they listened and actually weighed him, and guess what, yep hes underweight, why dont doctors often listen to mums? so he needs even more food inside him
then tonight took josh to see psychiatrist and they reducing his meds, and said family therapy will benefit him more?
came out to find i had a flat tyre, so had to call AA who took there time coming, and did a temp repair.
sorry for long ramble
kathy, lucky you having your own space, wish i had my own office
ISOM, how exciting a holiday, hope you and your best mate have a lovely time together
elaine, sounds like you've been very busy, i cant wallpaper to save my life

Gosh Shaz, you`ll need to put a permanent feeding tube down his throat and keep pouring stuff into him. Teenage hormones hmmmm, not good at the best of times so I imagine it will be worse for your boys. I have twin girls - all grown up now though - and can remember what it was like with them, must say that the two still at home can be quite `hormonal`still.
Well, the dreaded dinosaur is hacking me off now. All the bits are knitted but I just can`t get the legs to look right when I stitch them on. Have tried doing it with body unstuffed, then body stuffed but they look a bit naff whichever way I do it. Grrrr. I will not let a bloomin` toy get the better of me !!! Counting to 10 again.....1,2,3........
Think I`ll give up for tonight and start again tomorrow - hopefully things will click into place as if by magic. Fingers crossed - I know my eyes are almost crossed at the moment.
See you tomorrow.

Hi everyone.
Shaz - doctors should always listen to mums, shouldn't they? I've heard many stories where they've dismissed what mums say and, in the end, realise that no-one knows their children better than the mums. Obviously, teenage hormones will have an effect on behaviour but I hope they don't assume that everything is down to that. The family therapy may well help so it's a good idea to at least give it a try. I hope everything works out for the best. As I've said before, my DS2 was a horror right up until he was in his late teens and I wonder how I battled through it all, especially as I didn't ask for help from anyone. He was never violent, though, so I didn't have to face some of the situations you've found yourself in. Despite all my worries while he was growing up, he has turned into a lovely young man, and I'm sure your two boys will, too.
Elaine - it's horrible when something just won't go right, isn't it? I came across a teddy I made ages ago that looks nothing like a teddy - just some sort of deranged creature from outer space! It's one of those things I tell myself I will undo and try again but, really, I know I won't! The thing is, I haven't got the heart to throw it out but I daren't give it to anyone; it's the stuff of nightmares!
Well, yesterday was freezing cold; I could hardly believe it. I hope this isn't the start of the winter already! If it is, then I'm not too happy about it!
I'm still working on squares for name buntings for the grandchildren. I've done all the squares for DGS (only three for 'Sam') and DGD1 (just four for 'Lucy'), and half of the six I need for Summer (the longest name so far, but, of course, I don't know what the new baby will be called, and I will want to make a name bunting for him/her, too!). I've found instructions for crocheting letters in one of my crochet books, so I'll start on those once I've finished the squares. I'm tempted to do some for some nephews and nieces, too, for Christmas pressies. At the moment, we are so busy working on the house that crocheting plain squares in the evenings is really soothing and not too hard on the brain!
Well, I hope you are all keeping well. I still need to back-track through the posts I missed while I was away but it's harder than ever to get the time here without being called upon to wash out plastering buckets, hold things up, or, even more annoying, look for things that DH has put down and can't find! I shall be so so glad when what we are calling 'the final push' is out of the way!
Anyway, have a great day, all.

Hi
Well I'm feeling cold lol. Need to finish my not so economic chunky jacket I'm making myself quickly I think :-) I'm on the last sleeve, so shouldn't take much longer to do now. Just need to sit myself down with it and get clicking :-)
My 17yr old has been knitting the cutest knitted toys ever :-) She's doing them as Christmas presents for the little ones at church.
Life since getting back from the States has been ultra hectic. I've had full days of something on in one way or another !!!!! I need another holiday now lol.
Have a blessed and proserous day. Hugs to all in need ((((hugs)))) Love you all.

Well after a fantastic, lovely, cuddly weekend, when everything went perfectly including the weather, cooking, feeding the entertaining, even managed to dish up "proper breakfasts" and lots of cake, I woke up this morning to water on the floor by the kitchen sink!!! Not good, I have emptied all three cupboards, plonked all the dog towels onto the floor, identified where the water was coming from - all done while DH was out on the bike, he really wasn't impressed when he got back well he has been at it since 9.30am its not 2pm and he is still in the middle of it all. Not a happy bunny, himself. Seems that the very old pipework will now have to be replaced, being France the shops close at lunchtime, so he is stuffed till 2.30. At least half an hour to the local shop! So no fly cups of tea today then. All water off for the remainder of the afternoon. I shall now go and see if I can catch up with the postings that were made over the weekend. I did manage to knit a pair of bootees to Chalky's pattern link and a baby hat, but then totally forgot to mention it on the forum...well next week then. I have a bit of sewing (household) to get done this week, hope to get back into the swing of the knitting later on this week. Huge big cuddles to everyone, hope your day goes well - or at least better than mine is! Back some time - Love from Plumbers Mate DAVE
