Don - Bronte is just the most squidgy beautiful baby - oh she is a gem - (do i sound broody?????) but am very jealous - how can you be so withit one day later - lord I could not get out of my dressing gown for a week (or sit down if you know what I mean tee hee!!!!)
If someone had asked me to have a baby one week later I would have done - but as the years went by the thought faded (well DH said no if truth be known) also Doctor did say my arthritis may have accelerated because of being pregnant so in a way I did not dare
so what with Jaden and now Bronte - ooooo you could just eat them .............................
Thoughts of the bus were in my mind whilst cutting grass today and I know my old neighbour (70+ many ailments but just been able to master the 'puter now and really fun lady - likes knitting for baby unit but cant due to hands no longer useful) would love to come - so as I whizzed "stiping" the lawn I had a big smile to myself - only problem is I could just see DH asking me to come home periodically for a clear up and laundry :rotfl:
Yes kathy - i know the advert you mean - just imagine a walk-in wool closet - oh heaven and right next door a walk-in cardmaking closet and after that a walk-in jewellry making closet (get the picture) - oh heck its gonna have to be a "stretch bus" - we might have to contact "Pimp my Ride" tee hee
Anyway Im away with the fairies there am I not
chalky - oh sounds like you may have had some "fun" at the car boot - such a shame no one was crafty - my mum recently did one selling a lot of her card making bits and pieces and did really well xxx
Food time again - love to all - hope you all have a lovely evening - thinking of those with hands full and poorlies xxxxDebt Diary: Im not going to be an Ostrich anymore -LBM - 16/1/12 /0 -

Popped to john lewis and now have pins so will start pinning fergs blanket in the hope that one day it will be finished!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Morning all
First off I would just like to thank you all for your continued support, and the PM's made me cry, but in a happy/sad kind of way,IYSWIM
I have never known such a kind caring supportive group of friends you are all so lovely :A thank you all so much x
The funeral was yesterday and everything went as well as these things ever go.
We dispensed with tradition and had a carvery(her favourite she would have loved it) instead of a more usual bits and pieces spread, sarnies, sausage rolls, pork pies etc,
It was nice to meet up with relatives from all over the country again, it seems we only ever meet up at funerals.
....................................................................................

Pippa - I'm so sorry to hear about your much-loved MIL and I'm only too sorry that I was unable to send condolences earlier. I know she had a special place in your heart and you can take great comfort from the fact that you looked after her as well as you did your own mother, and that must have made her life so much better than it might otherwise have been. She sounds like a special lady who had a very special daughter-in-law. Love to you and your OH at this sad time.
Thanks for your mention of my next grandchild - the due date is 20th March; if it arrives on the 17th it will share the same birthday as its mum (like me and my DS1!)
Take care, Pippa.

Hi folks, not in my own head this week and trying really hard to get it all together. DS due on Friday afternoon for the weekend and I promised him CAKE - what a fool I am.
Not getting a great deal of crafty stuff done either - far too much cleaning on the go at the moment. Will pop back a bit later and see if I can catch up a bit more.
Cuddles to everybody

Hi everyone - I've been making curtains for the odd windows in the bedroom and have had to be quite inventive to get something made. They're both on the same wall but one is smaller and lower than the other; it's an attic room and the windows are a feature so we don't want to replace them with modern matching ones. They are too small to have a pair in each window which will block out too much light, so were quite a challenge. One of them needs to have the windowsill raised, too, so all in all, it's been a real project! I'll take a photo when they're finished because this description is probably very confusing!
I've just picked what are probably the last of the peaches, and also picked some chillies and just a couple of olives from my little olive tree. The chillies are very very hot, apparently, so I have to decide what to do with them! I shall have a go at stringing them up when I have the time.
It's been at least 28 degrees here, about 33 in the shade, so it's like the middle of summer at the moment. I think we are due for some rain at the end of the week, though. It's still really cold early in the morning, not that I knew anything about that this morning - I woke up quite late.
Pippa - (((hugs))) to you and your OH.
Jean - what do you use for fat to make your cakes here? I don't know what's the best thing to use - I don't really want to use butter. They have blocks of marg here for baking but they take about a week to soften, so I'd be grateful - when you have the time - for your ideas! Failing that, just post me a regular supply of cakes instead!!
Well, not much woolly stuff going on at the moment. We are working on getting upstairs organised and then, next week, the whole kitchen is going to be re-fitted. The main run of units needs to be moved about 8" along the wall, then new sockets will be fitted and a new extractor, a corner unit and new worktop. At least empyting the cupboards will make me sort them out, but I'm not looking forward to the disruption. The walls and ceilings still need to be plastered and painted, new floor put in the dining room end, and then the walls will be tiled - I've been told it will take about two weeks but I'm sure it will be worth it and I really want to get it finished before the winter sets in. All good fun - NOT!
We will take the weekend easy, though. We have a 'sausage sizzle' to go to on Saturday evening, and an English book fair and a French-type car boot sale on Sunday. The book fair was great last year and I picked up loads of books for just a couple of euros each; this year the lady who runs it has DVDs for sale, too, so it will be well worth the visit - and the wine that is always on offer!
Anyway, hope you are all having a good day.

Hello all!
I want to run away on a bus with you all!
Love and continuing to send good vibes your way pippa - glad funeral went well (you know what I mean)
ISOM hope driving ok - let me know if I can assist for Saturday
mioliere if you have a food processor you could process your hard marg with 50% - 100% tasteless oil (eg light olive oil, grapeseed oil etc) which will make it into soft marg (also, depending on the oil, high in polyunsaturates, high in monounsaturates etc)n which will be fine for baking. Actually you can bake with oil instead of hard fat but the recipes need a bit of adapting and I don't have enough experience to advise on that.
sock-knitter - iris folding sounds interesting, what is it?
Congrats on the baby Don!0
