    Afternoon all
Been working on the garden most of the day and I have a feeling I will suffer for it tomorrow...worth it though the garden looks a lot better and much tidier :T

mrs-moneypenny - Love the bird, dpns good for you, I've tried but just can't seem to get the hang of them, circular needles now those I can manage ;)
chalky - Sam's blanket is looking gorgeous he is going to love it
ginnyknit - I am sure the right school will be found for little man, he will take things at his own pace and will do fine, I remember you telling us about his reading 'surprise' :)
kathy - sending gentle (((hugs))) for you and all your family
psso - a year already it seems to have gone so quickly. I reckon knitting is like riding a bike ...as my Gran used to say a skill once learned is never forgotten... a wise old bird my Gran was ;)

The Lily Pond is waiting in the wings to be picked up next

Hello, everyone. I'm back in France now having had to catch the fast boat from Poole yesterday; the sailing we wanted to make on Tuesday wasn't possible due to French industrial action in Caen.

Thank you all for your messages of support in my time of great need. My Mum's funeral will be on 15th June, so I will be going back to the UK for that.

Sam's blanket is looking gorgeous, Chalky, thanks to all your hard work putting together all the squares that have been so lovingly made. Sam is doing as well as can be, although he will soon be in the toughest phase of treatment, so we are all dreading that because it will make him feel very unwell. Thankfully, once it's over he will be in what the doctors call the 'maintenance' phase and, providing there are no unforeseen problems, he will feel well enough to go back to school properly in September. He goes in now and again when he feels up to it. It does him good; he enjoys school, so I am really glad that he can go in when he is well enough. The treatment will carry on up to the three year mark, but it will be a further five years before he gets the all-clear, so it's a long slog. He is coping very well with it, and so are the rest of the family, although I can tell it's very stressful.

Mrs Moneypenny - I love that bird!

Ginnyknit - I hope things work out well for your DGS, bless him.

Pippa - I hope you have a nice time with Mrs Twins when you deliver that 1000th blanket. It's hard to believe what has been achieved since she started SIBOL!

Jean - how is that craft room coming on?

I did a baby blanket while I was away. Now I have to decide what to make next.

Once again, thank you all for your kind thoughts.

Supporting hugs for you and your whole family Kathy. It is obviously a very sad and difficult time for you so just know we are all here for you.

I've got permission off the head to go into school tonight once the children have left and decorate the tree, tomorrow is a fundraising day for children's cancer so everyone wears pink I thogiht it would brighten the school and give the children something different in the morning and mark the day well as the blossom is pink. Reason I decided to make bluebirds is that to me they symbolise hope and happiness and my wish is that every child could grow up with both of those.

Hugs and very good wishes for everyone and I hope you are all as well as can be.

Thank you so much, Mrs Moneypenny; I know I can count on my good friends here for support. I love all the beautiful things in your photo and, as you can understand, children's cancer is very close to my heart right now, so it's wonderful that your school is having a fundraising day for such a good cause.

Posting these here for Chalky (Linda) These two beautiful squares have arrived for Sam's blanket. Sadly there was no name on the envelope . Would love to know who sent them so that we can thank you properly! The love grows.

Back from my hols and need a rest now :rotfl:Had a lovely frugal time with lots of knitting and crafting though I did nuybuy 2 balls of yarn - one knitted up already - and 3 pieces of fabric for baby bibs. Just have to find the house under the mountain of fishing gear.

Sams blanket is simply stunning. Just shows you what you can achieve when lots of people add a little love together :)

Welcome back, Ginnyknit. I hope you had a restful break, and it's good that you had the chance to buy some more yarn! Hope you've managed to sort out all that fishing gear!

Mrs Moneypenny - how is Alfie? I bet he changes a little every time you see him, doesn't he? I hope he's feeding well these days.

Well, I can't believe we're more than halfway through May and we're still waking up to very cold mornings. It gradually warms up during the day, but this is the first May since we moved here where we've had to have heating on first thing. I shall be glad when the summer really gets going; it feels as if we're still waiting for spring at the moment!

I'm doing a baby blanket at the moment and then will do some preemie stuff so that I can deliver it all to the local maternity unit when I am back in the UK in June. My Mum's funeral is on 15th June, so I need to get the ferry booked. I don't know whether we'll be able to see Sam on our next trip; it will depend on how he is and whether he is well enough once he has started on the intense chemo, bless him. I know he will just love that blanket that everyone has so lovingly contributed to. His bedroom is a very grown-up grey with bits of red and blue, so the blanket will go very well in there.

I hope you all have a good day, and hugs to those who are anxious or unwell, or looking after poorly ones.

    Morning all
Alfie is a little ray of sunshine! Well not that little he's Over 12lbs now can't believe he's already 6 weeks old he's outgrowing lots of his clothes so things seem to be on the needles longer than they are on him!
I've been doing extra hours at work so not on here as much as normal. Evenings are mainly crafting or reading and last couple of weekends we've been doing mils garden prepping for a new fence for her.
Hope the weather picks up and summer comes back soon but saying that today looks promising.

Have a wonderful day all. X
